Speaker 1:

Music Hallelujah. It is the week after Easter, after his resurrection, and all things have been made new for you and me through what Jesus has done on that cross and after being raised from the dead, everything is renewed, hallelujah. But after being raised from the dead, on the same day he met with his disciples. The Bible says after meeting with the two Marys and that's what we heard last week, and this is the first time that he met with his disciples and at a later time the Bible says he met with two disciples when they were traveling from Jerusalem to Emmaus. And the Bible says they could not recognize him. And they have a long conversation and they reach their destination and the two of them tell him where are you going to go? It's late at night, so why don't you stay with us? It's late in the evening, stay with us. And the Bible says that they realized it was Jesus at the time of the breaking of bread. And the moment they realized, the Bible says Jesus vanished from their sight. And it's in the Bible, you can go ahead and read it and they realize it's him. And they talk about how their heart was burning inside them while they were talking to them, but they could not recognize him. And the Bible says they immediately leave Emmaus and go back to Jerusalem to tell the eleven disciples and the others who were with them. And they go back to Jerusalem and while they are telling the disciples about the things that have happened, jesus appears to them, hallelujah. The Bible even says the door is shut and Jesus appears, oh Hallelujah. Now this is the second time thatges the disciples to touch him. The Bible uses the words do not be unbelieving, but believing. And then, while he is talking to Thomas because Thomas was one of the disciples who said I will only believe once I touch the nail piercings on his hand and while he is talking to Thomas, he says to them and this is from the book of John 2029. And this is a blessing for all of you this morning and anyone who's listening to this, john 2029 says Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed, oh, hallelujah. So each of you, this beautiful day, you believe in Jesus without even seeing him. You are already blessed. So the words of the master, john 20, 29, blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed, oh hallelujah, hallelujah. And then there is a third time that Jesus appears to his disciples. Now, this is all after him being crucified, him being raised from the dead, after that empty tomb, after that angel sitting on the tombstone, countenance as lightning, clothes as white as snow.

Speaker 1:

After all that, and this time it's at the sea, at Tiberias, the Bible says and the disciples go fishing and, like before, they fish all night, but they cannot catch any fish. And they are on their way back and Jesus is at the shore. And yet again the Bible says that they do not know that it is Jesus. And he probably shouts out from the shore to them because they are still part in the sea. And he asks them if they have any food. And they say no, from the boat, it's beautiful. And then Jesus tells them to cast their net on the right side of the boat for a catch. Oh, we know this has happened before. Nevertheless, he tells them to cast down their net on the right side of their boat for a catch and, just as before, they do it. And now they are unable to draw the catch into the boat because there is so much of fish in the net. Oh, hallelujah. Draw the catch into the boat because there is so much of fish in the net. Oh, hallelujah. And immediately, oh, of course, just as the first time he captured them. Immediately they know it's Jesus. Oh, this is the master, isn't it? Oh, hallelujah. And immediately they realize it's Jesus and they quickly go to him, to the show. In fact, the Bible says that, peter, he was on the boat and he was not wearing anything. The Bible even says he puts on an outer garment and he jumps into the water and swims towards the shore. Oh, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

And the Bible says the others sit into smaller boats and they go to the shore and when they reach the shore they see fire of coals with fish and bread on it. Oh, jesus has come to chill with them, hallelujah. And he calls them to have breakfast with him. Oh, it's in the Bible, go and read it. And then he gives them bread and fish to eat, hallelujah. And I want to tell you that after this, jesus was raised from earth into heaven in front of the eyes of his very disciples. The Bible says he goes up in a cloud. The Bible also says that there are two men in white. The Bible also says that there are two men in white and they look at the disciples and tell him don't worry, he will come back the same way he has gone. Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah. But that's for another time and another day. And the Bible says that the disciples stay in Jerusalem, as Jesus had told them to stay in Jerusalem.

Speaker 1:

Luke 24, 49 says Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high, hallelujah. Jesus spoke in secrets a lot of times. The disciples never understood. A lot of times they asked him to explain and he explained, and sometimes, even after the explanation they did not understand. But this one is as clear as day Behold, I send the promise of my father upon you, but, daddy, in the city of Jerusalem, I send the promise of my father upon you, but, daddy, in the city of Jerusalem, until you are endued with power from on high. Power from on high, hallelujah, hallelujah. Acts 1, 4 and 5. And, being assembled together with them, commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem it's the same one from another book but to wait for the promise of the Father, which he said you have heard from me, for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now, oh, hallelujah. So you see, jesus tells his disciples to stay in Jerusalem. And two books that I read from one was Luke and one being Acts one says you will be endued from power. You will be endued with power from high, and the other one says the book of Acts says oh hallelujah, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Wait for the promise of the father. So they are waiting in Jerusalem. Jesus has given them clear instructions to stay in Jerusalem and to wait for the promise of the father. John baptized with water, but they would be baptized with the Holy Spirit, and they are waiting in Jerusalem.

Speaker 1:

John 16, verse 7, says Nevertheless, I tell you the truth it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go, the helper will not come to you, but if I depart, I will send him to you. Oh hallelujah. Going back to Jesus, before he was on the cross, he told this to the disciples. He told them that he is going to go on the cross and that he is going to be condemned to death on the cross. And then he tells them it's to their advantage that he goes, because after that he will send the helper. And I want to tell you that the, the Lord, is resurrected and I've told you he's met with them now three times and he has gone up to heaven and he's asked them to stay in Jerusalem. And I want to tell you that they being being sought after They've been looked for by the crowds, whereas disciples, we want to catch them and hang them. So they are in hiding and they meet in this place, which is like a first floor, like a floor above the ground floor. It's called the upper room, the Bible calls it, and they meet there, and the Bible says that now it's not the upper room, the Bible calls it, and they meet there and they say the Bible. The Bible says that now it's not just 11 disciples, now it's a hundred and twenty of them. Apostles, now listen to this.

Speaker 1:

Acts 2 1 until the fourth verse, as promised by Jesus, and I'm reading to you directly from the word of God when the day of Pentecost had fully come, that they were all with one accord in one place, and suddenly, suddenly, there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave their martyrdom. So, hallelujah, oh hallelujah, they hallelujah. They wait in Jerusalem, as Jesus told them to, and they are waiting for the promise of God. They are waiting for the helper and he comes.

Speaker 1:

And I want to tell you that the Bible says that Jerusalem had people and I'm reading to you from the Word of God from every nation under heaven. It must have been on what do you call it? A metropolitan city. And the Bible says that when this happens, they heard the disciples speaking in different tongues. And when this happens, they heard the disciples speaking in different tongues and they marvel at how they heard everyone speaking in their own language. And it calls out so many people of so many nationalities in the Bible, and they look at each other and they say aren't these Galileans? And how do they know our language? Hallelujah, you read the book of Acts if you'd like to know more about it.

Speaker 1:

And I want to tell you today, today, so many, so many years after Jesus has ascended into heaven, after being raised from the dead, there is still the promise of the Father, there is still the helper, there is still the Holy Spirit with us. Hallelujah. 2 Timothy 1.7 says for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind. Now, hallelujah, through whatever you have going on with you, I want to tell you this morning, through your walk in life, remember that you do not have the spirit of fear, but instead the spirit of power and of love and of sound mind. You have power from the Most High this morning with you at your right hand. Know it, it's not meets the Word of God.

Speaker 1:

Haggai 2, 5 says according to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so my spirit remains amongst you, do not fear. Oh, hallelujah, oh. Look at the significance of this and I'll tell you the significance of Haggai 2.5. According to the word that I covenanted with you when I took you out of Egypt. So my spirit remains among you, do not fear. Oh, hallelujah, oh. He took the Israelites out of slavery and he promised them the spirit saying do not fear. And he took the world out of slavery through Jesus and he promised us the helper. Oh, hallelujah, the spirit of God, oh, do not fear, hallelujah, the spirit of God, oh, do not fear. Hallelujah, oh, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

And I want to leave you with this today, and you will know what you need to do about it. And I want to tell you this, and I am here to tell you this this morning and this day you cannot ignore the instructions and accept only the blessings in the Bible. They work hand in hand. That's God's principle. You cannot leave out certain aspects and accept only certain aspects of the Word of God. You cannot do that. Similarly, I want to tell you today the Holy Spirit, our helper, is here with us today to help us through our daily lives. No doubt about it. He's always at our right hand side. That's how God says I will never leave you nor forsake you. That's how Jesus said I will never leave you nor forsake you. My father has made the promise to you, he has covenanted it with you and you always have me with you.

Speaker 1:

But I want to tell you this morning that the help was also with us for another reason, and I'm reading directly to you from the word of god, from mark, the 16th chapter of the 15th verse. And he said to them oh, pay attention, and this is going to hurt you, this is probably going to push you, this is going to make you cringe, but this is the word of God and it's probably going to push you in your spirit. Or go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. This is Jesus's words. And he said to his disciples. The Bible says he said to them Go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe in my name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents and if they drink anything deadly, it will not by any means hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Oh hallelujah, mark 16, 5, mark 16, 15, 15. Till the 18th verse. Go ahead and read it, but I will read this part for you again. And he said to them go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Hallelujah. That is one of the reasons why you have the Holy Spirit with you.

Speaker 1:

The Bible says the Spirit testifies of Jesus. Oh Hallelujah. That's deep. And while saying this to his disciples, he doesn't say may. He doesn't say depends on the time of the day. He doesn't say, depends on how much you've prayed or how much you've fasted. It says these signs will follow those who believe in my name.

Speaker 1:

Oh, beautiful children of the most high, the spirit testifies of Jesus. This day, this week, this month, go and tell someone about the cross, or go and tell someone about what Jesus did on that cross for you and me and for them. Go tell them about how Jesus died for them. Go tell them how he is raised from the dead and how he is seated at the right hand of God. Today, hallelujah, the Spirit is with you. The Spirit has been covenanted to you and he is always, always with you. The Spirit testifies of Jesus, your helper, the one who will never leave you nor forsake you. The spirit of the most high, the power from the most high, is with you. Know that this beautiful day and this morning.

Speaker 1:
