Speaker 1:

I want to get straight into the word of God and I want to tell you that you know, jesus used to always talk to crowds and he always had people around him followers and his disciples and he should talk to them in parables. Jesus loved explaining things in parables and I want to tell you there were times when some of those parables were unclear to his disciples. And the Bible says that he is to explain everything to his disciples privately to make them understand what he was trying to say. And there is this time when he's talking to the crowds that have followed him and the Bible says that the day has passed, so it's probably evening time, and he has been speaking to the crowds through the day, and he tells his disciples that they need to go on to the other side. So it is at a hillside and there's the sea there and they want, and Jesus has told his disciples that they need to go to the other side and they leave the crowd, the Bible says, and they take Jesus along with them in a boat, and the Bible says that there arose a fierce gale of wind and the waves were breaking against the boat so much that the boat was filling up with water. So Jesus is talking to the crowds and he's talking in parables and he's teaching them. And then he tells his disciples that we need to go to the other side. And they sit in a boat and they go to the other side and it's evening and while they're on their way the Bible says there's a fierce gale of wind. That's a really strong, harsh wind, and the waves are breaking against the boat so much that the water is filling up the boat. And the Bible says that Jesus is at the stern, and the stern is the rearmost part of the boat, that's the back. And the Bible says he was asleep on that side of the boat and he was sleeping on a pillow. The Bible says and the disciples rush to him and they wake him up and they say teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?

Speaker 1:

And the Bible says in Mark, the fourth chapter, the 39th verse, and I'm reading to you directly from the word of God and he got up and he rebuked the wind. And the sea peace be still. And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm, hallelujah. And he got up and he rebuked the wind and said to the sea peace, be still. And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. Hallelujah. Jesus speaks to the wind and he rebukes it. He speaks to the sea and he tells it to calm down, be still, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

And then the next chapter, the next verse, goes on to say but he said to them why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? The Bible then goes on to say and they feared exceedingly and said to each other who can this be that even the wind and the sea obey him? Hallelujah, hallelujah. Why are you so fearful and how is it that you have no faith? You, jesus, has been spending time with his disciples. He's been teaching, he's been healing people. The Bible says he healed all diseases, all diseases. Hallelujah. The blind saw, they got their sight back, the lame walked, the paralyzed got up, the dead were brought back to life in their presence and Jesus is right there with them.

Speaker 1:

And they have seen all this happen.

Speaker 1:

But Jesus asked them why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? And Jesus is urging them to have faith and he is in the boat with them, and yet they fear the wind and the waves. Why are you fearful? How is it that you have no faith. And he is asking someone this morning why are you fearful and how is it that you have no faith? I want to tell you this morning that he's in the boat of life with you. His word says in Hebrews 13 5, I will never leave you nor forsake you. And you can go ahead and mark down Hebrews 13 5 I will never leave you nor forsake you. And if you ever think you have any other understanding of the word forsake, go to whatever dictionary you like and see the meaning of the word forsake, forsake. But yes, we have times when we have our eyes on the storms of life, we are more focused on the gale, we are more focused on the gale, we are more focused on the waves that we forget that Jesus is right there with us. He's right there in that very same boat of life with us. And no, I'm not blaming you for it. I'm not blaming you for it. I'm not accusing you for it. I'm not raising a finger against you for this, because we are human and it's only human for this to happen, and I know it's easier said than done. But Jesus expects you this morning to have faith. Hallelujah. He expects morning to have faith, hallelujah. He expects you to have faith After what he has done on that cross For you and me. He expects you to have faith. Just believe with conviction that your situation is going to change and it will happen. Just believe with conviction that your situation will change and it will happen. Just believe with conviction that your situation will change and it will happen. And this beautiful day.

Speaker 1:

I have a few stories that I want to share with you from the Bible, and I'm going straight into the first story. And there is a time where Jesus is walking through a particular place and the Bible says there was a woman from Canaan who had a severely the Bible calls it out so specifically a severely demon-possessed daughter. It doesn't say anything more than that. But that might have been a really bad situation if the Bible calls it out as a severely demon-possessed daughter. And she asked Jesus to have mercy on her situation. But Jesus does not answer her. He's the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and he knows everything and he knows exactly how the situation is going to pan out, but he does not answer her.

Speaker 1:

At that time, lady, this woman, she screams out even louder for Jesus to have mercy on her situation. And now his disciples begin to get embarrassed with the way she is calling out to Jesus, and the Bible says she comes nearer to them and nearer to Jesus and falls at his feet yet again, begging for mercy for her daughter. And there is a discussion that happens between them. But I'm not getting into that this beautiful day and this beautiful morning. But I'm going straight into the words of Jesus to this woman who was relentless. Matthew 15, 28 says Jesus answered and said to her oh woman, oh woman, great is your faith, let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed. From that very hour the Bible says hallelujah, hallelujah, matthew 15 28. Then Jesus answered and said to her o woman, great is your faith, let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed that very hour, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

And I am going straight into the next story that I have to share with you, and this is the time when Jesus is nearing a city called Jericho and the Bible says along that road sat a blind man who used to beg, and the Bible calls out his name as Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus. And when he gets to know that Jesus is passing by that road of Jericho, he begins to shout out loudly. He begins to shout out loudly Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. And I want to tell you that he is a blind man. His only source of information is his smell and his hearing, and he can probably hear Jesus somewhere in the vicinity maybe he does not even know where, and I want you to picture it in your mind and let your imagination take over, because he probably can hear him at a far off distance. And he is screaming out loud oh jesus, son of david, have mercy on me.

Speaker 1:

And the crowds, the bible says, are trying to hush him. Hush, don't disturb the master, shush, keep quiet. You're just a beggar, a blind beggar, and you know what the bible says. He shouts out even louder oh Jesus, son of David, I have mercy on me, oh, hallelujah. And you know what the bible says Jesus, oh Jesus, son of David, I have mercy on me. Oh, hallelujah. And you know what the Bible says Jesus stops, oh Hallelujah, oh Hallelujah. The Bible says Jesus stops and he commands him to be brought to him. And then the crowds, the same crowds that were hushing him and telling him to be brought to him. And then the crowds that the same crowds that were hushing him and telling him to shush, or those crowds tell him be of good cheer, he's calling you.

Speaker 1:

And the bible says batman throws off his garment, hallelujah. He throws off his garment and goes towards jesus. He throws off his garment and goes towards Jesus, which means he had to be guided towards Jesus, I'm sure because he was a blind man, so the crowds would have probably been directing him in the right place. But he throws off his garment and Jesus asks him what do you want me to do for you? Oh, hallelujah, wow, me to do for you. Oh hallelujah, wow. The creator of heaven and earth is asking him what do you want me to do for you? And let me give you my version of it. You know why? Because he screamed out in faith oh jesus, son of david, have mercy on me. He screamed out in faith O Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stops Hallelujah. And Bartimaeus tells Jesus Rabbanai, I want to receive my sight, rabbanai, I just want to receive my sight. And Jesus said to him go, your faith has made you well. And the Bible says immediately he regained his sight and began to follow Jesus on the road. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah, go, your faith has made you well. Your faith has made you well. Your faith has made you well, hallelujah. Immediately he regained his sight.

Speaker 1:

And the last example I want to share with you this morning the story from the Bible, and this time Jesus is in a, in a country called Gaudens or Gaderines, which is near the modern day Jordan today, in this day and age, and he is initially in one part of this area because he has crossed the sea and he heals a demon possessed man and the crowds get uncomfortable with it and they ask him to leave. And you can go ahead and read it in your own time. I will tell you the scripture. But he is in this place called Gadarenes and he frees a demon possessed man and the crowds get uncomfortable with it and they ask him to leave. So Jesus leaves with his disciples, he sits in a boat and he goes on to the other side, and the moment he's reached the other side or he's reached the shore because he's in the boat there are crowds gathered there waiting for him and he reaches the other side and he is swarmed by people and it's so beautiful. You should take your time and read this.

Speaker 1:

You know, this time, when Jesus is in this place and the moment he reaches he is swarmed with people, and one of them is a chief priest of the synagogue named Jairus, whose daughter is unwell. I am not sharing the story of Jairus this morning, but I am telling you what happened at this time. And Jairus asked Jesus' help. He asked for Jesus to heal his daughter and Jesus is on his way to heal Jairus' daughter, who is unwell, and on the way. It's not his plan. His plan is to go to Jairus' home and heal his daughter, but on the way there is a woman who had an issue of flowing blood for 12 years.

Speaker 1:

The Bible says Wow, 12 years, an issue of flowing blood. And the bible says she has suffered many things under many physicians and she had spent all that she had on them and, in fact, had only gotten worse. It's as clear as that called out in the bible and that's why I said I will give you the scripture. Go ahead and read it in your time. So the woman with the issue of flowing blood for 12 years. And the Bible says that she suffered many things under many physicians and she has spent everything that she has and in fact, she's only gotten worse, which means now she has nothing and she's probably on the road and she gets to know that Jesus is walking that place. He is walking through that place and I can tell you this oh, jesus knows the beginning from the end. He is the beginning from the end. But I can tell you this it was not his plan, it was not in his plan.

Speaker 1:

He was on his way to Jairus's home. And she gets to know that Jesus is walking that place and she thinks to herself If I may just touch the hem of his garment, I shall be made well. If I may just touch the hem of his garment, I shall be made well. Wow, hallelujah, oh, what faith. Oh what faith. 12 years. She's only gotten worse from day one and for 12 years she has suffered. And now he is walking by, the bright morning star is walking by and she says if I may just touch the hem of his garment, I shall be made well. And I said you know, those of you who have a vivid imagination, go for it. Oh, he's crowded by people, he's surrounded by people, and this woman goes for the hem of his garment. The hem of a garment is the bottom most stitching of the garment. That's, in this day and age we don't wear tunics, but you have the stitching at the bottom of your, your trouser, your skirt, your denims, the stitching that's the hem of the garment. If I may touch the hem of his garment, I shall be made well. And this woman amidst the crowd touches the hem of his garment. She probably crawled through the crowd, she probably got stamped on. She probably got her hands trampled and her fingers probably trampled upon by so many people in there in that crowd. But she went for the hem of his garment.

Speaker 1:

And jesus stops and he says who touched me? He asks his and in fact one of the disciples turns around and tells him Lord, have you seen the crowd around you? And you are asking who has touched you? And he says somebody has touched me, somebody has touched me. Who has touched me For power has gone out of me? Somebody touched me For power has gone out of me. Somebody touched me for power has gone out of me.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you get it, beautiful people this morning. You get it, you must get it. It's the touch of faith. It was not part of his plan to be there, he was walking through to Jairus' home. But the touch of faith of this questions. She stands up and she comes into the front and she goes down on her knees in front of him and says Lord, it is I. I touched you. And she explains her entire story to him and he says and the Bible says it in Luke 8, 48 onwards and he said to her daughter be of good cheer, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Hallelujah. Oh, he said to her daughter Be of good cheer.

Speaker 1:

Because the Bible says she was trembling, she got scared. Jesus stopped. Power has gone out of me. Who touched me? Oh, hallelujah. Oh, woman has gone out of me. Who touched me? Oh, hallelujah. Oh, woman, great is your faith. Let it be as you desire go. Your faith has made you well.

Speaker 1:

Blind Bartimaeus Daughter, be of good cheer. Your faith has made you well. Oh, hallelujah. It's on your faith. This beautiful morning. That's what I want to tell you. It's on your faith. The Bible says he is the same yesterday, today and forever more.

Speaker 1:

A beautiful woman pleaded and she got what she desired. The blind man, bartimaeus, screamed and his faith got him his sight back. The woman with the issue of blood crawled amongst the crowd, amidst the crowd, and probably got crushed and trampled upon just to touch the hem of his garment and she was made well. It's on your faith this beautiful morning. It's on your faith. It's on you. There is nothing more that Jesus can do. He's done it on the cross. He has done it on the cross for you and me. Now it's on you and it's on me, and if you ever think you're in a situation that needs to change, I am here to tell you this morning through the beautiful word of God and these wonderful examples and, believe me, I can share so many more examples, but these three sum up what I am trying to tell you through the word of God this morning.

Speaker 1:

Just believe, it's on your faith. I shall be made well. I touch the hem of his garment. I shall be made well. I scream out to him in faith oh, I will get my healing. Oh, I will plead to him. If need be, I will stand in front of him, even though I am not supposed to inherit this promise. I will stand in front of him and he will do it for me. Of course, he will do it for you. He came on a cross, he hung on a cross for you. You think he won't give you something that you want. He gave up his life for you, but he needs you to have that faith. He is in the boat of life with you. I am here to tell you that this morning, and I already told you what Hebrews 13.5 says I will never leave you nor forsake you, which means he is always with you, at your right hand. The Bible says he is always with you. Believe it. But when it comes to these situations and you need that change, you need that breakthrough, you need that 360 degree turn. Now it's on you. Why are you fearful? How is it that you have no faith? Hallelujah, it's all on you this morning and I just want to leave you with this passage of scripture Beautiful, powerful passage of scripture, through the Psalm of David 121, the first and second verse I will lift my eyes to the mountains.

Speaker 1:

From where shall my help come? Oh, I will lift my eyes to the mountains. From where shall my help come? Oh, I will lift my eyes to the mountains. And where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth, oh, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

Dear Lord, I thank you for your beautiful presence here.

Speaker 1:

Lord, I thank you for your beautiful double-edged sword. Lord, your word that does not go back until it has achieved what it has been set out for. Lord. And this beautiful morning, lord, I thank you, lord, for the faith of your people that is increasing, lord, I thank you, lord. Your word says that when we call out, you shall answer, lord, and show us great and mighty things we know not of. And I thank you, lord, for always being faithful, even though we are faithless. All glory and honor to you. This beautiful morning, lord, we leave all our situations, our life, everything at your hands, lord, at your feet, lord. The earth is your footstool, lord. You take care of it, you control it, and I thank you for the plans that you have for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans with a hope and a future. Lord, thank you for this beautiful time, thank you for your beautiful presence, thank you for your love, thank you for what you did on that cross for us, lord. In Jesus name, I pray Amen.
