Speaker 1:

and I want to tell you about a time when Jesus is talking to his disciples and he's talking to the crowds.

Speaker 1:

And he's talking to them about John the Baptist, who was in prison at that time, and about how John is the messenger sent before him to prepare the way for him. And after he says this, and after he's talking to the crowds and his disciples, he says this to all of them. And I'm reading to you directly from the word of God right now Matthew 11, chapter 28, verse. And he says to them all and he's saying this to you and me this morning Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Hallelujah, come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will you rest.

Speaker 1:

What a beautiful statement this is from Jesus. Come to me, he says. He doesn't say go to the hills. He doesn't say sit under a tree to attain nirvana. Jesus doesn't send you or me to a mountain top somewhere. He doesn't say go to a quiet place. Jesus does not even direct you to anyone else, but instead Jesus says come to me.

Speaker 1:

And who is Jesus talking to? He is talking to the weary and the heavy laden, the ones who are extremely tired or exerted, the ones who are carrying a burden. Might be any kind of burden, some sort of a weight on your back, maybe something that's oppressing you, a chip on your shoulder based on something that somebody said to you or maybe said about you, maybe even a huge emotional weight that you are carrying, maybe a financial burden, maybe a health issue that's weighing you down. It could be anything. But Jesus encompasses all of these and he says Come to me, those who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Jesus Will give you rest. Your creator will give you rest. He is the one who loves you and he will give you rest. He is the one who loves you and he will give you rest.

Speaker 1:

And I want to tell you today, like David says in one of the most beautiful Psalms in the Bible, psalm 23, the Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, and most of you will know this by heart. I'm sure he leads me besides quiet waters. He restores my soul. Amen, hallelujah, hallelujah. The Lord is my shepherd, the good shepherd, the shepherd that lays down his life for his sheep. Jesus and you shall never be in want when Jesus is your shepherd. Of course, life will have its ups and downs, but I want to tell you here this morning, through the word of God, that when you make Jesus your shepherd, you will not be in want and know it like David knew it when he wrote it and he was just a shepherd himself and he was just a boy and he was not the king of Israel at the time, but he knew it and you should know it this morning, that you shall never be in want when Jesus is your shepherd. Green pastures, I want to tell you, for sheep it's a place of food, it's a place to sit down and rest. For sheep it's the best thing that they can ever get. Green pastures, green pastures. And I'm here to tell you today that Jesus will give you the best he will make you. Jesus will make you lie down in a place where he is taking care of you and what is quiet waters, a place of calm, a place of peace. Jesus will make you lie down in a place of peace where the best of everything is given to you. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Come to me those who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

And I'm going back to the book of Matthew, where Jesus made the statement. That's Matthew, the 11th chapter, and from the 29th verse onwards, listen to what he has to say. He says take my yoke upon you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Hallelujah, I'm reading it again Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. He's talking to someone this morning. He's talking to someone today Shed your problems of the world. I know it's easier said than done, but mark down Matthew 11, 29 and 30 and go and read it and meditate on it and turn to him and he will ease your earthly burden.

Speaker 1:

I'll tell you what a yoke is. It's a wooden cross piece that is attached to a plow, or could be even a carriage, and that is put over the neck of an animal or the necks of animals. So mostly you will see two animals in a pair and the yoke is put around their neck and the weight is behind them and they pull the weight or they will pull the plow. And that's what a yoke is and that's how they used to plough fields in older days. Take two animals, put a yoke on them and plough the field just before you sow.

Speaker 1:

And aligned to the scripture, which means the worries that you carry with you, that weigh you down, the worries that you carry with you that slow you down, the worries that you carry with you that even restrict the things you are doing maybe. And Jesus today is telling you to shed that burden and take his yoke upon you and learn from your father this day. Learn from the good shepherd, the one who laid down his life for you and me. Take his yoke upon you, I told you. Mark down Matthew 11, 29 and 30. Where Jesus says take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in the heart and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Oh, jesus' yoke is easy and light. It's easy upon you. Leave your troubles of the world aside and just turn to Jesus this morning, whatever it might be big or small, I told you it's easier said than done, but it won't change until you make a decision to do so. And just turn to him and ask him for his yoke this morning. Just say, jesus, take away my yoke, give me your yoke and you will see. You will see and experience the change, hallelujah. And this is such a beautiful scripture that I'm about to share with you right now.

Mark 6.31,. And pay attention to this, listen to this, let your spirit receive it. Mark 6.31 says. And he said to them yet again, jesus is talking to his disciples. He said to them come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while. Oh, hallelujah, oh hallelujah. What a beautiful scripture. And he said to them come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while. Oh, it just. It tells you everything, doesn't it? And rest a while. Oh, it just, it tells you everything, doesn't it? Come away by yourself to a secluded place and rest with Jesus. Oh, what a beautiful scripture it is. Mark it down, mark 6.31. And he says come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while. Oh, it's crystal clear and it's yet a secret at the same time Beautiful. Come away by yourself and rest with Jesus, or just lay down aside that calm river, in the green pasture that he has already set aside for you, and bask in his beautiful presence. Oh, enjoy his love upon you this beautiful day and smile. Smile through your situation or through whatever is holding you down or keeping you low. Jesus loves you and he will take away your yoke.

This morning, this day, shut that door, seclude yourself and rest in His presence. Oh, hallelujah, believe me, he will come. Oh, he will come and he will sing over you. The Bible says Hallelujah, says Hallelujah, hallelujah. Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while, or go to your room, shut that door and he will sing over you. The Bible says, and he will sing over you. The Bible says he will rejoice over you. You are his creation. The Bible says oh, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. He has fearfully and wonderfully made you. And if you are in that place this morning, shut that door, seclude yourself and rest in Jesus and he will come to you. Hallelujah, jeremiah 33 3.

And most of you know the scripture and I am reading it to you from the amplified version this morning call to me and I will answer you. Hallelujah, oh hallelujah. He doesn't say I may. He doesn't say I might, he doesn't say I'll check my schedule and get back to you. Oh, call to me and I will answer you and tell you and even show you Great and mighty things, things which have been confined and hidden, which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish. Oh, hallelujah, call unto me and I will answer you. Oh, hallelujah, seclude yourself, come away and seclude yourself and rest.

Speaker 1:

Oh, hallelujah, this beautiful morning, this beautiful day, if there's anything that's holding you down, leave everything aside and turn to Jesus. Oh, he will take away your yoke and he will give you his yoke. And he will give you his yoke, he will fill you with his love, he will shower you with his blessing, he will sing over you. Shut that door of your room, seclude yourself and call unto Him and he will answer you and, oh, you will rest. Hallelujah, go to Him. The only one, jesus Yeshua. Jesus Yeshua, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, who says to you and me come to me freely, come to me and I will give you rest. Oh, he will give you rest. Oh, he will give you rest. The only one on this planet who can truly give you rest is Jesus, the one who died on the cross for you and me. He gave up his life on a cross for you and me. A painful death, a gruesome death, a good shepherd who laid down his life for you and me. He's telling you this morning come to me, those who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Hallelujah, dear lord, I thank you for your wonderful word.

I thank you for your double word. I thank you for your double-edged sword. I thank you, lord, that your word does not go back until it has achieved what it has been set out for. Lord. I thank you, lord, that right now you are breaking down walls, lord. I thank you that you are destroying the yokes that are holding your people down, lord, and I thank you that you're destroying the yokes that are holding your people down, lord, and I thank you, lord. You're turning your yoke upon some people right now, lord, your yoke that is beautiful and light. Thank you, lord, that you're changing situations right now in most people's lives.

Speaker 1:

Thank you, lord, for what you did on that cross for us. Thank you, lord, that your word says when we call unto you, you will answer, lord, and show us great and mighty things that we know not of Hallelujah. Thank you, lord, for this beautiful time, thank you for this beautiful word, thank you for your beautiful presence that's in people's homes. Thank you, lord, that some people can feel you at their right-hand side. Thank you, lord, in that some people can feel you at their right hand side. Thank you, lord. In jesus name, I pray, amen you.
