Speaker 1:

Music Hallelujah. This day I will get straight into the word of God and I am excited to do it. And I'm reading to you directly from a Psalm. It's Psalm 86, 6, 7. That's the 86th Psalm, 6th and 7th verse. Give you O to my prayer and attend to the voice of my supplications In the day of my trouble. I will call upon you, for you will answer me. Hallelujah, I'll read it again Give your, o, lord, to my prayer and attend to the voice of my supplications, my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications in the day of my trouble. I will call upon you, for you will answer me. Hallelujah, some of David. What a beautiful passage of scripture and so true. And I want to tell you this morning that Jesus hears your prayers, jesus hears your supplications and he answers. Hallelujah, he does answer.

Speaker 1:

The Bible says in Philippians 4.6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4.6,. I'm going to read it again for you Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Now I want to tell you, the book of Philippians has the word supplication, and it has the same word supplication. That's also in the psalm, but here philippians gives us something different. The book tells us not to be anxious for anything, but in everything, with prayer and supplication and thanksgiving, let your request be made known to god. And I want to tell you I've told you this in the past about what does supplication mean now? Supplication means earnestly praying. Supplication means asking with all humility. Supplication means earnestly praying. Supplication means asking with all humility. Supplication means going down on your knees. That's deep, deep requests. The dictionary even adds the word begging to the meaning of supplication and thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is just plain and simple. It means giving thanks or someone who's with a thankful heart.

Speaker 1:

Now I want to take you to a time when Jesus was on this planet and the Bible says he was going to Jerusalem and it mentions that he was walking between Samaria and Galilee and he entered a village. So Jesus is going to Jerusalem and he's in between cities. He's walking between Samaria and Galilee. The Bible says very clearly and he says and the Bible says that he enters a village and there ten men with leprosy stood at a distance from him. And I'm reading to you from the word of God, from the book of Luke, the 17th chapter, the 13th verse, and they raise their voices saying Jesus, master, have mercy on us. Now, this is supplication for you in the true form. Jesus is passing by and, as it used to be for the lepers in those times, I want to tell you that they used to be put out of the city limits because leprosy was a highly contagious disease and they used to be on the outskirts of the city or they used to sit outside the walls of the city. And that's probably where they encountered Jesus, because he's in between cities and the Bible says they are at a distance. And because they are at a distance and they know now they have reached this point in life where they can't go close to other people besides lepers. So they scream out from a distance so that Jesus does not pass them by. It's their one chance. Jesus, master, have mercy on us. And the 14th verse says when Jesus saw them, he said to them go and show yourselves to the priests. So these lepers are just standing and screaming out on the top of their voices Jesus, master, have mercy on us. And Jesus just looks at them and says to them go, show yourselves to the priests. And I want to tell you that in that very same verse, which is Luke 17 chapter, the 14th verse, the very same verse, the Bible says and as they were going, they were cleansed. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. So these 10 lepers are asking God for mercy. Jesus is walking by and he says go, show yourself to the priest. That's all he says. And clearly they do it. And the Bible says as they were going, they were cleansed. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. And the 15th and 16th verse says now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, he turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice and he fell on his face at his feet, giving thanks to him, and he was a Samaritan.

Speaker 1:

I want to tell you, leprosy is a horrible disease and at those times I'm sure it was not even curable. Today there's a cure for leprosy, but I'm sure in those times I'm sure it was not even curable. Today there's a cure for leprosy, but I'm sure in those times there wasn't. And these 10 lepers would have had a difficult, difficult life. I already told you that they should be put out of the city because leprosy was a contagious disease. So they would have probably been spending a life of seclusion filled with rejection. They clearly could not even work. Who would take them for a job? So they have no money, they are outcast from society and the only thing they could probably do is beg, beg for food.

Speaker 1:

A slow, degenerative disease that eats into your body parts over time. Oh, that's painful. It's a painful disease. And there were 10 of them, and now one has come back with thanks. Oh, hallelujah. There were 10 of them, and on their way to the priest they are cleansed of their disease and only one of them comes back with thanks and he falls at the feet of Jesus, thanking him. And listen to what the 17th and 18th verse says. Then Jesus answered and said were there not ten cleansed, but the nine? Where are they? Was no one found who returned to give glory to God, except this one foreigner? Jesus sent end on a way. Only one came back to give thanks.

Speaker 1:

And I want to tell you something this morning, jesus is looking for a thankful heart. He is looking for a thankful heart. He is looking for thanksgiving. Believe me, it's not like he expects it. Remember when they raised their voices and called out to him from a distance, jesus knew he was going to heal them. He didn't want their thanks. He didn't want their thanks. He didn't need their thanks. He doesn't need a thanks. But I will tell you, through the scriptures of God, that he is looking for a thankful heart. And see what happens next. In Luke 17, the 19th verse, and he said to him stand up and go. Your faith has made you well, hallelujah. Another version of the Bible says stand up and go, your faith has made you whole, oh hallelujah. Another version says stand up and go. Your faith has restored you to health, oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. And today I will take the second version, because I know that's who my father is and that's who your father is, someone who loves you and somebody who makes you whole.

Speaker 1:

I told you, leprosy is a degenerative disease. The nose, the fingertips, the toes, the ears, they start to get affected and over time, they begin to get eaten away by the virus and there's there's nothing left, and that's why you would always see them with a cloth covering their face, because these body parts are getting destroyed. Their feet and their hands would always be covered with cloth, because it's degenerating. And in this case, after this man came back to Jesus and after Jesus said these words, I want to tell you and I believe this and you should believe this this morning his hands, his limbs, his body parts would have grown back, because Jesus says your faith has made you whole. Your faith has restored you.

Speaker 1:

What is the meaning of restored? Go check it out on the dictionary. I think you know it. Oh, hallelujah, oh, he would have gotten whole. He would have gotten restored to the way he was. Oh, hallelujah, stand up and go your way. Your faith has made you whole, hallelujah. One person came back to give thanks. One person became whole. Of course, the other nine got healed, but I'd like to look at it this way that they remained the way they were. Yes, they got healed, but they remained the way they were. But the one who came back to give thanks, he grows back and becomes whole, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

I want to tell you something else this morning, and most of you know this, but I'll give you a different perspective on it the time when Jesus feeds 5,000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish. It's in the book of Mark 6, chapter 40th verse. You can read it in your time, but I am reading to you from Mark 6, the 41st chapter. Taking the 5 loaves and 2 fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing of praise and thanksgiving to the father, oh hallelujah. And then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the people and he divided up the fish among them all. Oh hallelujah, oh, I don't know if you got it and I'm going to read it to you, for for you again, taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing of praise and thanksgiving, oh hallelujah, hallelujah. Oh, even Jesus looked up towards heaven and gave thanks. And what happened? Oh, multiplication happened. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

Jesus has compassion on the crowds and he wants to feed 5000 people and what do we have? Just 5 loaves and 2 fish, and he takes them and he looks up to fish, and he takes them, and he looks up to heaven and he gives thanks and there's multiplication. Oh hallelujah, you better be getting it this beautiful day. And let me tell you, there's another time when Jesus decides to feed 4,000 and the Bible says that there were 4,000 men, not counting the women and the children. So technically there's no count, they just say 4000 men.

Speaker 1:

And let me tell you what he had, or what his disciples had around them seven loaves and a few small fish. The Bible says four thousand men, not counting the women and the children, and all they have is seven loaves and a few small fish. And Matthew 15, 36 says and I'm reading to you directly from the Word of God and he took the seven loaves and the fish and when he had given thanks, oh hallelujah, he broke it and started giving them to the disciples. And the disciples gave them to the people. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah, I hope you're getting it this morning. Five thousand people fed with five loaves and two fish. Four thousand men, not counting the women and children, fed with seven loaves and a few fish. Oh wait, it doesn't end there. Oh wait, with the five thousand people, there were 12 baskets full of leftover, broken pieces that they collected, oh hallelujah. And oh wait, with the four thousand people, there were seven baskets full of broken pieces that were left over. Oh Hallelujah. Oh, beautiful people of the Most High.

Speaker 1:

Let me tell you today, even Jesus gave thanks and he gave thanks and there was multiplication. Or, you better get this morning through the Word of God. This is not me, this is the word of God for you. Prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Oh, you will see the multiplication of God in your life. Oh, it's the word of God, prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, oh hallelujah, oh Hallelujah, oh Hallelujah, and you will see the multiplication of God in your life. Oh, you will see the multiplication of God in your life, multiplication, not addition. Don't forget the multiplication of the loaves and the fish. Don't forget the amount that they collected as leftover after people ate. Hey, five loaves and two fish is what I can eat on my own. Oh, hallelujah, I hope you are getting it this morning.

Speaker 1:

Psalm 104 says enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. Be thankful to him and bless his name always. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. 1st Corinthians 15, 57.

Speaker 1:

But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Christ Jesus Hallelujah, oh, all your situations turn to victory. But the secret is you've got to give thanks. Oh, it's difficult, isn't it? You'll say there's not a situation that I can give thanks for. You have no clue what situation I'm in. Hey, jesus was in those situations and he gave thanks first, before he did anything, and then there was multiplication.

Speaker 1:

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, and all your situations will turn to victory. This morning I'm here to tell you that. But you've got to give God thanks, and this beautiful morning I want to tell you this. This beautiful day, I want to tell you this just look around you and give thanks to God, give thanks to Jesus for every little thing that you have. Oh, give thanks for every little thing that you have. Oh, look around you. You didn't have it last year and you'll have more than that the next year, hey, the next month, hey, the next day.

Speaker 1:

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good and his mercy endures forever. The Bible says his mercies, his grace Is new every morning. Every morning, he's giving you something new. You don't know it, you can't see it, and maybe in some instances you can. But I want to give you a different perspective today.

Speaker 1:

Pray and supplication with thanksgiving. When was the last time you just closed the door and you just thanked God for what you have? Don't go with your bucket list. He knows you want that bucket list and he will give it to you. It's just that he will do it in his time. But I want to leave you with this.

Speaker 1:

This beautiful day day, this beautiful morning, go to God with thanksgiving. Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good and his mercy endures forever. Forever. For every day that you have lived on this planet, he has given you something new. It's not me, it's the bible. His mercies are new every morning.

Speaker 1:

Every morning, he's giving you something new, beautiful jesus, hallelujah, dear lord, I thank you for this beautiful word. I thank you for your double-edged sword that does not go back until it has achieved what it has been set out for. Lord, I thank you this beautiful morning. I thank you, lord, I thank you and I thank you for what you did on that cross, lord. The body was broken, your blood was shed just for us, and I thank you for that. I thank you for being obedient to death on the cross. I thank you, lord, that today you are at our right hand, lord, I thank you, lord, that you make every crooked path straight. I thank you, lord, that you go before us. I thank you, lord, that your favor is always with us. I thank you, lord, for your wisdom, knowledge and understanding that is always resting on our shoulders every day. And, most of all, lord, I thank you for your mercies that are new every morning. Thank you, beautiful savior, glorious father. Thank you, lord. In j Jesus name. I pray amen.
