#20 - He Is Risen
Rejoice and celebrate, for He is alive!
Jesus died on the cross only to defeat death and to rise again, making all things new for us.
In this special episode, tune in to understand what resurrection truly means and how we can claim it for all the dormant aspects of our lives.
II Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
I want to start today's beautiful day with thanks and thanksgiving and thanking Jesus for what he has done on that cross for us. Hallelujah. Nothing can be added to what was done on that cross for you and me. Nothing can be taken away from what was done on that cross for you and me. It was all just perfect. It was all just perfect. It is perfection what Jesus has done for you and me on that cross, and no one yes, no one will ever be as amazing as him to be willing to get on a cross and give up his life for you and me. No one. And not just any kind of death, but an excruciatingly painful death on a cross for you and me. But I'm not here today to talk to you about his death. I'm here today to talk to you about his death. I am here today to talk to you about his resurrection, oh, hallelujah. And today is Easter Sunday, the day we celebrate and the world celebrates, the day Jesus was resurrected, he died and he rose again Resurrection Day, hallelujah. And I want to tell you that the title today is he is Risen. Oh, how powerful is that. He is risen. And I want to take you back in. And it is a Sunday morning and the Bible says two Marys, mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James, came to see the tomb and you can imagine they were spending all their time with him, the creator of heaven and earth, and suddenly and you can imagine, they were spending all their time with him, the creator of heaven and earth, and suddenly he's put to death on a cross and he's not there anymore. And these two Marys go there to the tomb on a Sunday morning and I'm reading directly to you from the word of God, matthew 28, chapter 2, verse onwards and the Bible says and behold, there was a great earthquake. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat on it oh, you pay attention to this this morning. And his countenance was like lightning and his clothing was as white as snow and the guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men. So this happens right in front of both the Mary's who have come there to be at the place where Jesus is buried, that tomb which has a stone rolled over the mouth of the tomb. And there's an earthquake and the angel of God descends from heaven and comes and rolls back the stone from the mouth of the tomb and sits on it. Oh hallelujah, talk about making an entrance and making a statement. And the bible says the angel's countenance, which is, his face was like that of lightning and his clothes like snow, as white as snow shining white. And of course those guards were shaking in fear and were frozen like dead men.
Speaker 1:And the fifth and sixth verse goes on to say but the angel answered and said to the women Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified, who was crucified. He is not here, for he is risen, as he said Come see the place where the Lord lay, oh hallelujah, for he is risen. As he said, come See the place where the Lord lay, oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. And the angel tells the two women, the two Marys Do not be afraid, for I know you have come to see Jesus who was crucified, but he is not here, for he is risen, as he said, which he told you he is risen. Come and see the place where he lay, oh hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And the seventh verse says and go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead and indeed, he is going before you into Galilee where you will see him. Behold, I have told you so. The angel was sent down just to tell the Mary's that Jesus is risen, that's it. And just to ensure in case you have any level of doubt, here, I have rolled back the stone. I'm sitting on the tombstone. You want to come and see? Come and see, he's not here. He is risen. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. And just to tell them that he will see you in Galilee, as he has gone there before before you. And I want to tell you that Jesus had indeed told his disciples earlier about what was going to happen. You know when he took the bread and he took the wine, and that was his last meal. He tells them after that what is going to happen. You know when he took the bread and he took the wine, and that was his last meal. He tells them after that what is going to happen. He tells the twelve and I'm reading directly to you from the word of God from the book of Luke, the 18th chapter, 31st, 31st verse onwards Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man will be accomplished, for he will be delivered to the Gentiles and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon. They will scourge him and kill him, and the third day he will rise again. The words of Jesus to his twelve disciples in person.
Speaker 1:But the Bible says that the disciples did not understand it. It says the disciples understood none of these things and it was hidden from them. So for them it was just a statement, but they never got it. That's not the point anyway. Coming back to the two Marys, and the Bible says they ran out of the tomb with fear and great joy oh, hallelujah, oh, you have to picture yourself being in this situation. Come on, you go to the tomb to spend time with the one person who was everything for you and what. He is risen. Oh, hallelujah, oh, he is risen. Oh. And they ran out of the tomb with fear and great joy.
Speaker 1:The Bible says, and Matthew 28, the ninth verse onwards. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, jesus met them saying rejoice. So they came and they held him by the feet and worshiped him. And then Jesus said to them oh, do not be afraid, go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee and there they will see me. Oh, hallelujah. The last thing they saw of Jesus was him giving up his life on that crossing. It is finished. And then he was put in a tomb and that's the last they know of Jesus. And the wisdom has been hidden from them that he will rise on the third day. And now he comes in person to tell the two Marys go tell my brethren that I will see them. Oh, hallelujah. And I want to tell you that Jesus met with the disciples at the place on a mountain that he had appointed to them. If you read the bible, he had given them a place that he would meet them, and the Bible says they met him and he spoke with them. Hallelujah, oh hallelujah, that's resurrection.
Speaker 1:Today is resurrection day, and I want to tell you this this beautiful day, this beautiful morning death, destruction, decay, they have no place with Jesus. Oh, even death could not hold him. Even death could not hold him. According to our worldly wisdom, death is the end of it all, and we all know it. To our wisdom that we have on this planet, there's life and there's death, and that's the end of the story. It begins with life and it ends with death.
Speaker 1:But wait to Jesus is just a thing. It's just a thing. It's just a thing. It's just a step he had to take for us. It's a step he had to take for you and me. And I want to tell you today, as we celebrate his resurrection, when you put your faith in Jesus, death and decay and destruction have no authority over you. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. And there's a reason why I'm putting decay and destruction, because after that, it leads to decay and you know that. And this beautiful morning, I'm here to tell you that death and decay and destruction have no authority over you. Oh hallelujah, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:Celebrate this day in the words of jesus to the two marys rejoice, oh, rejoice. Today, I want to tell you all dead situations for you, oh, they will come to life. This beautiful, beautiful day, this beautiful morning, mark down those situations and circumstances that you feel are holding you down. Mark it, write it down and I want to tell you, through the word of God, that they will be renewed, because death has no hold over Jesus, nothing that will ever be as part of your life if you put him as the head of everything. There is no way it can. 2 Corinthians 5.17 says Therefore, and listen to this this beautiful morning. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, hallelujah. All things have passed away, behold, all things have become new, amen. 2 Corinthians 5.17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. All things have passed away, behold, all things have become new, hallelujah. That was very short, very short word this morning, but I want to tell you this beautiful morning.
Speaker 1:Today is Resurrection Day. It's the day that Jesus conquered death. The so-called known full stop of death is nothing for Jesus. It's nothing. Hosea 13, 14 says I will ransom them from the power of the grave, I will redeem them from death. It's the word of God. Go, mark it down. Hosea 13, 14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave, I will redeem them from death. All because of what he did on that cross for you and me, oh hallelujah. And only because he is alive today. The Bible says because of what he did on that cross for you and me, oh hallelujah. And only because he is alive today. The Bible says he's alive today. He's seated at the right hand of God.
Speaker 1:Revelation 1.18 says I am he who lives and was dead. Behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. I have the keys of Hades and of death. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah, oh, I am he who lives and was dead. And behold, I am alive forevermore, amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of death, oh hallelujah. Oh, yeah, he was dead. It's just a word, it's just a thing. Death, yeah, I was dead. Oh, he's alive forevermore.
Speaker 1:He's seated at the right hand of God and through the word of God in Corinthians. I am here to tell you this morning that when you put your faith in Jesus, you are a new creation and all things that are old have passed. Believe it, it's the word of God. And all things that are old have passed. Believe it, it's the word of God. All things that are old have passed. All things have become new, all things, amen, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And I leave you with this beautiful promise from the word of God, this beautiful, beautiful day, this beautiful morning, from the one who death has no authority over, from the great I am, from El Shaddai, revelation 21, 5, 6 says then he who sat on the throne said behold, I make all things new. And he said to me Write, for these words are true and faithful. And then he said to me it is done. Oh hallelujah, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. Oh.
Speaker 1:Jesus gave up his life on a cross for you and me, and on the third day he was raised from the dead. Dead is just a word, and I'll tell you why. It's because he has replaced it with I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He is everything. And this beautiful morning, on the day where the angel was sent out on down onto earth just to tell the two Marys who came to the tomb he is risen, oh, he is risen, and everything for you and me is brand new. There is nothing dead, there's nothing old.
Speaker 1:Oh hallelujah, dear Lord, I thank you for this beautiful word. I thank you for this beautiful day. Lord, lord, I thank you for this beautiful word. I thank you for this beautiful day, lord. I thank you for what you did on that cross for us, lord. I thank you, lord, for your name. That's above all names. Lord, I thank you that every knee bows at your name on the earth, above the, the earth and below the earth. And, lord, I thank you, I thank you, I thank you, lord, for all power, authority and dominion. Title everything that is under your feet. Thank you, lord, for renewing everything. Thank you, lord, for making everything new. Thank you, lord, for it is done. Thank you, lord, that you are the Alpha and the Omega. You are the beginning and the end. Thank you.
