Speaker 1:

This beautiful morning. I'm going to go straight into the word of God and I want to share with you today different instances of when Jesus was on this planet different times, different cities, different people, different stories of Jesus when he was here with with us on this planet, with the race that he created, with mankind. And I'm gonna go straight into it. And Luke, the 17th chapter. The book of Luke, the 17th chapter, talks about ten lepers and I think I've shared the story with you before, but I'm gonna share it with you again today. And the Bible says that Jesus is on his way to Jerusalem and he's passing through Samaria and Galilee. And I've told you in the past that you know lepers used to be at the outskirts of the city. They used, they were what we call as outcasts, because it was highly contagious and you should imagine that at those times, you know, maybe medicine was limited or you know, people were not diagnosed well and you know things like that. So out of fear, they were just thrown out of the city and it was a. It was a bad, difficult disease that would eat into your body parts, a degenerative disease. And there are these lepers as he's passing through Samaria and Galilee, ten of them and they're shouting from afar as he's passing by, asking to be healed. So there must have been news about Jesus coming to the city and they know he's passing by and they're shouting from afar because they know they're not supposed to go next to people as they're lepers, next to people as their lepers. And of course they get Jesus' attention. And Jesus asked them to go and show themselves to the priests. That's all that he says go, show yourself to the priests. And the Bible says as they were on their way, as commanded by Jesus, to show themselves to the priests, as they were on their way, they got healed, oh Hallelujah. And the Bible goes on to say that one of them returns to Jesus, falls flat on his face at Jesus' feet, praising God and giving thanks, oh Hallelujah. At Jesus' feet, praising God and giving thanks, oh hallelujah, of course. And Luke, the 17th chapter, the 17th verse onwards. And Jesus answered and said Were there not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God, except this one foreigner? And he said Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you whole, oh hallelujah. But that's a different story for another day. But I just want to tell you that Jesus is in between cities. He sees 10 lepers who are calling out to him for healing and he just says go yourself, show yourself to the priests, and as they're on their way they get the healing. And one comes back to give thanks. And the one who comes back to give thanks and though I told you it's a story for another day, or a topic for another day Jesus tells him your faith has made you well, your faith has made you whole, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

Now I'm taking you to another story from the, the book of Mark, the 10th chapter, the story of a man, a blind man, called Bartimaeus. The Bible says, son of Timaeus. Doesn't say much about Bartimaeus, just about the fact that he is sitting outside a city called Jericho, yes, the same Jericho that Joshua took by singing around the walls. Many, many, many, many years later, jesus is at Jericho and blind Bartimaeus sits outside Jericho as a blind beggar. And Jesus is actually leaving Jericho, the Bible says, with a great crowd and a great multitude of people, and blind Bartimaeus is sitting on the side begging, and he knows Jesus is passing by.

Speaker 1:

And Mark the 10th chapter, 47th verse onwards, and when he heard that it was Jesus. He began to cry out and say Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. Of course, the way I'm narrating it to you does no justice to the way blind Bartimaeus must have screamed on top of the crowd and on top of his voice oh Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. Because the Bible says he began to cry out and then many warned him to be quiet. The Bible says but he cried out all the more oh hallelujah, jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. And the Bible says oh hallelujah. Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called to him. And then they called the blind man, saying to him be of good cheer, rise, he is calling you. Oh hallelujah. And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to jesus. The bible says so. Jesus answered and said to him what do you want me to do for you? And the blind man said rabboni, said Rabboni, rabboni, that I may receive my sight. Jesus knows he's blind, but he still asks him what do you want me to do for you? And he says that I may receive my sight. And Jesus says to him go your, your way. Your faith has made you well. And immediately the Bible says he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

Speaker 1:

Bible doesn't say much about Bartimaeus, but the very fact that his first name is called blind in the Bible I am assuming he was born blind Blind Bartimaeus, the beggar outside Jericho, wow. And Jesus happens and he receives his sight, john 6, the feeding of 5,000 people, and we all know this one, or most of us do. And Jesus crosses the Sea of Galilee with his disciples and he goes up a mountain and there's a great multitude that follows him. And we all know that Jesus is performing signs, miracles and wonders, healing the diseased and freeing the oppressed. The blind are seen, the lame are walking, wow. So there are people all over following him.

Speaker 1:

And the Bible says Jesus lifts his eyes John the sixth chapter, the fifth verse onwards and seeing the great multitude coming toward him, he says to Philip is there enough bread? Shall we buy bread that they may eat? And the Bible even says this. He said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. And Philip answered him 200 denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them that every one of them may have even a little. One of his disciples, andrew Simon Peter's brother, said to him there is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish. But what are they among so many? And when Jesus said, make the people sit down now, there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down and number about five thousand Make note, it is only five thousand men, not counting the women and children. And Jesus took the loaves and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to his disciples and the disciples to those sitting down, and likewise of the fish and as much as they wanted they ate. So when they were filled, the Bible says he says to his disciples gather up the fragments that remain so nothing is lost. Oh hallelujah, there's a revelation in this gather up the fragments so that nothing is lost. And they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five loaves and the two fish that were left over after they had eaten. Oh Hallelujah, oh Hallelujah, hallelujah. Jesus healing 10 lepers, giving a blind man his sight back, feeding 5000 men, women and children more than this count and then collecting 12 baskets full.

Speaker 1:

And then I want to take you to this last story, which is a beautiful one and it's very less spoken about, but I'm going to share it with you this morning and from the book of Luke, the seventh chapter, a woman is forgiven and now Jesus is. He's the main man. He's always got an entourage and everywhere he enters there are people crowding around him, signs, miracles and wonders over the roof. And he's in the city of Galilee now and he gets invited by a Pharisee to eat in his home. And Jesus goes to his home and the Bible says there's a woman there who is known in the city as a sinner. I don't want to get into what she must have been doing, but the city knew her as a sinner, the whole city knew her as a sinner. The whole city knew her as a sinner. And this is in Galilee. He's in the Pharisee's house. He's gone there to have a meal.

Speaker 1:

And Luke 7, chapter 37, verse onwards, and listen to this this morning. This is for someone here and behold a woman in the city who was a sinner when she knew that jesus sat at the table in the pharisee's house, brought an alabaster, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil. Alabasters is a material in which people used to store oil. It was like a form of a stone. And when Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisees house, she brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil and stood at his, stood at his feet behind him, weeping Some of you can feel Jesus' presence right now and she began to wash his feet with her tears and then wipe it with her hair on her head. Oh hallelujah, oh Hallelujah. And she kissed his feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. Oh Hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

The city of Galilee, a woman known, a known sinner, sits behind Jesus's feet, weeping, and washes his feet with her tears and wipes his feet with her hair and then pours the oil, the fragrant oil, from the alabaster box Onto his feet. And then he said to her your sins are forgiven, oh hallelujah. Luke, the seventh chapter of the 48th verse your sins are forgiven, your faith has saved you. Go in peace, oh hallelujah. So many times, yet again, the word faith is being used in all the times that Jesus is interacting with people, but that's not what I want to tell you about this morning. All these beautiful times, jesus did something for these people. I want to tell you.

Speaker 1:

It involves an act of love. That's it. The lepers in between the cities. Jesus shows compassion on them. You think he needed to heal them. He's just walking in between cities and there are ten lepers screaming out at him, blind Bartimaeus. Jesus is leaving Jericho. Yet again, he is leaving Jericho. He is done with his work. Oh, look around you. Everything is perfection, everything that God has made is perfection and it has his signature on it, which is perfection. So if Jesus is leaving a city, believe me, he is done with the city, but yet he heals. Blind Bartimaeus, who is sitting outside the city screaming out to him an act of love. The multitude, only Jesus knew how many were actually following him for the miracles. Of course he knew five thousand men, not counting the women and children. But he has compassion on them and he wants to feed them because they're far off. They had a mountainside and he tells his disciples what, what do we have? Five loaves and two fish is what a lad has, and he takes it and he gives thanks and he gives them. He's got compassion. He feeds the crowd, he loves them.

Speaker 1:

The woman, the known sinner in the city, taking the alabaster flask and putting it on Jesus' feet, wiping his feet with her tears and her hair, can you imagine what situation she might have been in? That all she knew was Jesus is at the Pharisees home and I, just I have to be there. I have no redemption in my life. That's probably the phase that she was in right. Can you imagine if you were in that house, that Pharisees home, and you saw this woman washing Jesus' feet with her tears and wiping it with her hair? Can you imagine what situation she might have been in? I leave it to you. But you know what. She was a sinner and I think most of you on this platform today know what that means at that time. If the whole city knew I was a sinner.

Speaker 1:

But you know what, jesus didn't move his feet away from her or kick her or turn around and say take this dirty person away from me. He didn't do that. Your sins are forgiven, your faith has saved you. Go in peace, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I want to tell you that from these stories that I have shared with you this morning, know that everywhere that the people needed something from God, he was filled with love for them. There is no reason why he would do otherwise. And I am here to just tell you one thing today with love for them, there's no reason why you would do otherwise. And I'm here to just tell you one thing today, backed up by these stories from the word of God that God loves you. Oh, don't be mistaken even for a second, and you might think that you are unworthy and you might think that you are a dirty, filthy person worthy. And you might think that you are a dirty, filthy person.

Speaker 1:

I want to tell you what the Bible says. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus, and you know that guy who comes to lie, steal and destroy, he's lying into your ears just so that he keeps you away from Jesus, because there's no condemnation in Jesus. Jesus loves you and I'm here just to tell you that, that Jesus loves you no matter what. So don't go there sitting and you know, counting yourself or putting yourself on a weighing scale, because he doesn't do that for you. He loves you, he loves you, he loves you, he loves me, he loves us all, and the love he has for you it's unfathomable love, it's unmeasurable love. So don't put it in a box and don't put yourself in a box, calling yourself names, because Jesus does not see you that way.

Speaker 1:

And listen to it through the words of God. Listen to it through the words of Jesus when he was on this planet. I have loved you just as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love and do not doubt my love for you. Oh hallelujah, this is Jesus for you this morning. Do not doubt my love for you. Do not doubt it. I told you the world might tell you a lot of things and people around you might tell you a lot of things, especially that guy, as I said, who comes to lie. But you know what In Jesus' word this morning, do not doubt my love for you. God is love. The Bible says in 1 John 4, 8. God is love and you know what. He's already taken the step. He's taken it for you and me. Oh, come on. He sent his son down to die on a cross. A humiliating, painful curse to die on a cross, to be hung on a cross. He's already sent him down on this planet 20-24 years ago to die on a cross for you and me, the ultimate act of love. It cannot get any bigger than that.

Speaker 1:

For those of you who have children, you know it it's very easy to say I'll give up my life for you, but when you actually have a kid, it's a thought that you could consider you put everything else aside for your child. When you actually have a kid, right, it's a thought that you could consider. You put everything else aside for your child and there's no way God sent his son down for you and me. Oh, that's the next level of love. I told you. It's unfathomable, it's, it cannot be measured, that's just it. It just cannot be measured. For God so loved the world, measured for God, so loved the world. For God so loved the world. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.

Speaker 1:

I want to tell you this beautiful morning his love is your multiplication. His love is your shelter. His love is what will make you whole. His love will be the light for you in dark times. Jesus loves you. Beautiful people made by the Most High, selected, handpicked, chosen by your name, don't be mistaken even once and don't doubt the love that God has for you. Jesus loves you.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah, dear Lord, I thank you for this beautiful word. I thank you for your presence, lord, that's on this platform. I thank you, lord. Your presence will fill everyone who hears this, lord, and you will be with them and they will know it is you. I thank you for your love. I thank you for what you did on that cross for us, lord, an act of love. I thank you, lord, that you are ever so faithful, that you're ever so faithful. Thank you, jesus, for this beautiful time. Thank you for your word. Thank you for your reassurance, lord, through your word, that we may never doubt your love. I pray, lord, that your love fill us, surround us, put a hedge of protection around us through your love. Thank you for this beautiful time. Thank you for your word. Thank you, lord. In Jesus name, I pray, amen. Thank you.
