- John 14:13-14
This wonderful morning.
Speaker 1:I'm going to get straight into the word and I'm very excited about it because some of you are going to experience God today in a way that you never have, and praise God for that, because it's his plan. And I'm going straight into it. I want to tell you about a time when Jesus is talking to his disciples and to crowds and it starts with him talking about John the Baptist and actually John at that time was in the prison and he talks to them about how John is the messenger sent before him to prepare the way for him. And after that he says this to the crowds In Matthew, the 11th chapter of the 28. In Matthew 11, chapter 28, verse, he says Come to me all of you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest, oh, hallelujah. What a beautiful passage of scripture. Matthew 11, 28 says Come to me all of you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest, hallelujah. Jesus says come to me. He doesn't send you anywhere else. He doesn't send you to a hill. He doesn't ask you to go and sit under a tree and attain nirvana. He doesn't say go to the brook or a quiet place and sit there. He doesn't say anything else, even related to sending you to anyone else, and all he says is Come to me, hallelujah, come to me. Jesus says, and he's telling you this morning Matthew 11, 28. And who is Jesus talking to? The weary and heavy laden. Does this mean that if you are happy today, it's not for you? Well, if you are happy today and you know Jesus, it's not for you. But specifically in the words of Jesus, weary and heavy laden are the ones who are extremely tired and exerted, the ones who are troubled. Carrying a burden might be I mean any kind of burden, I don't know a weight of some sorts, something that's holding you down, a weight on your back. You're probably oppressed down a weight on your back. You're probably oppressed with something, a chip on your shoulder based on something that somebody has told you years ago, maybe something that's eating in you inside, based on something a loved one has done or said to you, maybe even a huge emotional weight that you are carrying, maybe a financial burden that somebody is carrying, maybe even a health issue or a health scare that's weighing you down. It could be anything I told you. You down. It could be anything I told you. And Jesus says come to me and I will give you rest. Oh, hallelujah, come to me, all of you who labor and a heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Oh, jesus will give you rest. This morning I told you I was excited to get into it and some of you are going to experience God in a way that you've never experienced him. And I told you it's because it's his plan. This morning, this day, whatever time zone you are in, he will give you rest and you can mark it down Matthew 11, 28, and read it in your own time and meditate on it.
Speaker 1:And then in the book of John I'm going to the book of John now and Jesus is having his last meal with his disciples and it's beautiful what he does there. He washes their feet. Oh, who does that? But that's not footy. He washes their feet and he's talking to them, giving them wisdom from above and preparing them for what is about to happen with him. He's preparing them because they walked the walk with him. They've made the journey with him. It's been a difficult one, but they were there with him. And now he knows his hand-picked disciples and he's telling them what's about to happen. And then he tells them John 14, the sixth verse.
Speaker 1:John, john 14, chapter 6,. And Jesus said to him I am the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through me, oh hallelujah. And here he is again, stamping his authority, not sending you anywhere else, not sending you anywhere else, not directing you anywhere, and telling you this morning I am the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through me, oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. Jesus is the way, he is the truth and he is life. Hallelujah, I am the way, the truth and the life. And then in John, the very same chapter, the 13th and 14th verse, he says Ask whatever in my name that I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. This is such a strong, strong passage of scripture and you should really mark this out. John, the 14th chapter, the 13th and 14th verse, and I'm reading it to you again. It says ask whatever in my name that I will do. That the Father may be glorified in the sun. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it. Oh, hallelujah, oh, some of you are getting it.
Speaker 1:And just as the bible is the best book on the planet, nothing God's Word says, not a jot, nor a tittle is out of place, which means everything, even from the way it's been chronologically placed in that book, the most beautiful book on this planet, the love story for mankind starts with Matthew, where God, where Jesus, is telling you you come to me, you come to me if you're weary and you're heavy laden and whatever it is that you're you're carrying this morning you come to me. And then he goes into the book of John, where he's telling I am the way. There is no other way. Jesus is telling you and me this morning. There is no other, there is no other way. I am the way, the truth and the life, and you will only go through the father, only go to the father through me. No one else except through me. There is no other door that you can walk through. I'm not here to mince words and you don't like it. That's on you.
Speaker 1:And then he goes on to say You're weary and heavy laden, come to me and ask Anything. Oh, hallelujah, in my name and my father, who has sent me here For a reason and a purpose In my name and my father, who has sent me here for a reason and a purpose, and for you, that's the purpose. Whoever you are, race, creed, color, weight, height, width, oh, whatever, whichever part of the planet you're from, he came down for you that the father may be glorified through him and his name. And you ask, and Jesus is telling you this morning, I will. He doesn't say shall might. I'll check my timing, I'll check my time slots Anything, ask for anything, oh, hallelujah, in my name, and I will do it. Oh, hallelujah, whatever you ask in Jesus' name, it will be done, because the Father will be glorified in the Son. Ask anything in Jesus' name. He's telling you this morning Anything and he will do it for you. Oh, you believe it this morning. He's telling you this morning Anything and he will do it for you. Oh, you believe it this morning, hallelujah, believe it this morning.
Speaker 1:And some of you are even at that place, right the middle of the seesaw. Why, why would he do that for me? Why? Why would he even be in a position where he can do it? Why? Of course, there's no problem in having that question, and even Thomas had that question. Until I see I will not believe. That's ok. I'll tell you why.
Speaker 1:He gave up his life on a cross for you and me, and that's why he was obedient to death on a cross, a curse On a cross for you and me. And that's why, and it's clear, as clear as day, crystal clear in the book of death, even death of the cross, oh, hallelujah. And in case you missed it, I'm gonna read it out to you again found in appearance as a man, the Son of God came down to this planet and humbled himself to death on a cross. Yes, found in appearance as a man, the son of god comes down on this planet for you and me just to die on a cross. Hallelujah, philippines, to wait, some of you are feeling the presence of God. Philippians 2.8. And found an appearance as a man, humbled himself and became obedient to death on a cross.
Speaker 1:And when Jesus was talking to the crowds and telling them about his departure. In case you want to note it down, the book of John 8, the 23rd verse. He says and he said to them you are from beneath, I am from above, you are. The 23rd verse. He says and he said to them you are from beneath, I am from above. You are of this world, I am not of this world. Oh hallelujah. He told them enough of times. In case you don't believe the signs, miracles and wonders that are happening around you, the multiplication that's happening around you, just in case you don't believe any of that, that's happening right in front of your face, here, I'm leaving it with you as clear as day you are from beneath, I am from above. The words of Jesus you are of this world, I am not of this world. John, 8.23. Go and 23. Go and mark it.
Speaker 1:And then John, the 18th chapter. He was being questioned by Pilate, the authority or the whatever you want to call it, of that time. The governor male, whatever title, rocks your boat. John, the 18th chapter, the 36 verse. Jesus answered to Pilate my kingdom is none of this world. Oh hallelujah, my kingdom is none of this world. And if my kingdom were of this world, then my servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not of this realm. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. So you see, in case people didn't understand, he's making it clear now. He knew what he came for and he was going to accomplish it, no matter what, just for you and me, just for you and me. But then, towards the end, he's just striking his authority and saying, just in case you didn't figure it out yet, I'm not from you and not with attitude, with absolute humility.
Speaker 1:And I'm going back to the book of phians, the second chapter, the 9th and the 11th verse says therefore, god also has highly exalted him. Philippians 2, 9 to 11. Therefore, god also has highly exalted him and given him the name which is above every name oh hallelujah that at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow. Oh Hallelujah Of those in heaven and of those on earth and of those under the earth. And then every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Oh Hallelujah, oh Hallelujah, oh Hallelujah.
Speaker 1:Philippians, the second chapter, the ninth to eleventh verse go and read it. Start from the eighth. It was oh Hallelujah, that every knee will bow. Every knee will bow. First of all, he is not from here and now, if not clear enough. Every knee, on every possible realm that you and I even know or understand, will bow at the name of Jesus those in heaven, those on earth and those under the earth, and every tongue, every tongue ever known to mankind, that shall be, is and ever will be everything.
Speaker 1:I'm here to tell you that this morning and, in case you haven't felt Jesus and his beautiful presence yet, you will now. And I want to tell you for someone here, somebody who's listening, you've been wanting to experience this. I think, before I share this with you, you can close your eyes and I promise you you will feel it, and I want to take you to this beautiful book, the vision that John has at the island of Patmos, the vision of heaven that is revealed to him. John is shown a book with seven seals. Now, trust me, you can close your eyes if you want to picture it and if you want to feel him In the book of seals.
Speaker 1:Seven seals is in the right hand of him, who is sitting on the throne. And I am reading to you from the word of God, revelations, the fifth chapter, the second and third verse. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals. And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it. Oh, no one. And then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it. So the angel is proclaiming loudly, with a loud voice, who is worthy? And there's no one on the earth, above the earth or in the heavens. No one. And John begins to weep because there is no one.
Speaker 1:And then revelation 5, 5 and one of the elders. One of the elders said to me stop weeping. Behold the lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the root of David has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah, oh yes, hallelujah, oh hallelujah, oh, yes, hallelujah. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has prevailed. No, don't worry, stop crying. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has overcome and he will open the book of life for you. Leave everything at his feet this morning your health, your situations, your challenges, your thank yous, your bank balances, your emptiness, your cares, your worries, your burdens. Leave it at his feet. He has prevailed from on the earth, above the earth, below the earth, in the heavens, all of the tongues, if impossible ever made, authority, power, dominion, say what you want. The Lion of the tribe of Judah, your Creator, jesus, your Father, is triumphant. He was, he is and he always shall be, over any situation, any situation.
Speaker 1:Hallelujah, dear Lord, I thank you for your beautiful presence, lord. I thank you, lord, for entering people's homes. I thank you, lord, that they can feel your presence. I thank you, lord, for your love. Thank you, lord, that you are ever so faithful. You cannot deny yourself, lord.
Speaker 1:I thank you for what you did on that cross, lord. You were obedient to death, and death on a cross only for us, lord. I thank you, lord, that you are worthy. Are you, lord, holy, holy, holy, lord, god Almighty, who was and is and is to come, worthy? Are you, lord, for what you've done on that cross, near the name above all names, lord, and we give you glory and honor. This beautiful day where every knee will bow on the earth, above the earth and below the earth, every time your name is taken, and I thank you, lord. This beautiful morning, whatever the situation might be, and this beautiful day when people leave it at your feet, they will ask in your name and align to your word. They will ask in your name and you will do it for them, lord, oh hallelujah. Thank you for your beautiful presence, lord. Thank you, lord, in jesus name, I pray amen. Presence Lord, thank you, lord. In Jesus name, I pray amen.
