“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”
- Isaiah 9:6 NASB1995
I'd like to start with Merry Christmas to everyone. And what a wonderful and joyous day this is. It's it's the day of the birth of Christ. It's the day of the birth of Jesus, it's the day of the birth of salvation, hallelujah. And I want to tell you that the birth of this little baby has been called out for many years, the birth of this child that would save mankind, since the Old Testament. And I'm going to read, I'm going to read to you this morning a few scriptures from the Bible that are calling out the birth of the Christ, waiting for him to come. And I'll start with Isaiah 7.14, and you can mark these down, because these are beautiful scriptures revealed to prophets of God, released many, many years before Jesus came on this planet. And Isaiah 7 14. Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign and behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call his name Emmanuel hallelujah. That's Isaiah 7 14.
Speaker 1:Isaiah 9, the 6th and 7th verse says for a child will be born unto us, a son will be given to us and the government will rest upon his shoulders and he will be called. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor. Mighty God, father, prince of Peace, there will be no end to the increase of his government. Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah, isaiah 11.1. There shall come forth a rod from the stem of Jesse and a branch shall grow out of his roots. Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah. Judges 13.5 says for behold, you shall conceive and bear a son, and no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazarite to god from the womb, and he shall begin to deliver israel out of the hands of philistines. Oh, hallelujah, oh. This is such a significant scripture and means so many things on so many levels. He will deliver israel from the hands of the philistines. Oh, hallelujah, micah 5, 2 says but you, israel, from the hands of the Philistines. Yet out of you shall come forth to me the one to be ruler in Israel who's going forth, are from old, from everlasting. Oh, hallelujah, oh, beautiful hallelujah. So I told you the birth of this child being called out for so many years, before he's even come to the planet, letting people know that this is going to happen. It's going to happen, you be ready for it. And the day arrives, a beautiful day that has been called out for so many years the birth of the Messiah.
Speaker 1:And I'm taking you back back in time to Mary and Joseph, and I want to tell you that Mary and Joseph went from Galilee to Judea, into a city called Bethlehem and, as it was required, there was a census happening and they had to register themselves and you know stuff like that. And so it was that, while they were there, the days were completed for the child to be delivered and she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Hallelujah. And she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger. Hallelujah, the Savior is born, emmanuel, god with us, and the child is born, oh, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And I want to tell you, there were shepherds in the fields looking out for their flock at night and the angel, and an angel of the Lord, appears to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were afraid. And I'm reading to you from the word of God, from the book of Luke, the second chapter, the tenth verse onwards. And then the angel said to them do not be afraid, for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which will be to all people, for there is born to you this day, in the city of David, a Savior who is Christ, the Lord, and this will be the sign to you. You will find the babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger, hallelujah. And the bible goes on to say and then, suddenly, there's a multitude of angels of the heavenly host, praising god and saying glory to god in the highest and on earth, peace, goodwill toward men, oh, hallelujah, what a day. What a day, hallelujah, what a day. What a day.
Speaker 1:And the Bible says at the moment, though, angels departed the the shepherds. They go on to Bethlehem to witness this good news and they find there, as told to them, the baby wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger. And the shepherds returned glorifying and praising God for the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told to them. And they spread the good news to everyone that they could. And let's not forget the wise men from the east. And let's not forget the wise men from the East who came saying where is he, who has been born, the King of Jews? For we have seen his star in the East and have come to worship him. Hallelujah, where is he, the child? And they've come to worship him.
Speaker 1:And Matthew 2 9 calls it out and behold, the star which they had seen in the east went before them till it came and stood over where the young child was. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and fell down and worshipped him, oh hallelujah. And when they had opened their treasuries or their treasures, they presented him. They presented gifts to him gold, frankincense and more hallelujah. So the heavens rejoice, the shepherds rejoice, the wise men from the east rejoice For the birth of the Messiah, the birth of Jesus, oh Hallelujah. And that's this beautiful day that we celebrate, the day which we call Christmas, the birth of Jesus.
Speaker 1:And this morning I'm not going to get into the threat that there was to Jesus, jesus' life from the king of the time, whose name was King Herod, because he knew that there's a savior born, and he was also told that the birth of the Savior marked the end of his reign. But never mind, it's a, it's a day of good news and, as I said, the Messiah is now born, who was called out for so many years and told for generations to generations through so many prophets and timelines. Believe me. All the scriptures that I shared with you this morning are from different timelines, calling out that beautiful day when the savior will come on this planet. And that's the day.
Speaker 1:It's today, christmas day, the day of the birth of our Messiah. And I want to tell you this morning that birth is significant to a new beginning and on this planet, and as God has made us and he has written that, there will be birth and there is death. And, as I said, birth is significant to a new beginning, a new life, and the birth of Jesus foretold just that a new beginning for mankind, a new beginning for you and me who put our faith in his name, who believe in him, who rejoice Like the shepherds and the wise men and everyone else who they met and told this good news about, and on this beautiful Christmas morning Of 2024. Understand in your spirit that today year marks A new beginning For each of you, with the birth of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. This beautiful day as we celebrate, christmas Day, is a day of a new beginning for each and every one of us, and I want to leave you with this beautiful passage of scripture this morning that is aligned with the birth of christ for each and every one of you who believes in jesus, and I'm reading it to you directly from the word of god, on this beautiful day that god has given us, going to god in the highest, for this beautiful day that was called out for many, many years, before it even happened, knowing fully well the love that he had for us All, culminating down to this beautiful, beautiful day where the Savior is born, where he sends his son down to this planet, oh, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And I'm reading to you directly from the word of God, from the book of Isaiah, the 65th chapter, the 17th verse onwards Isaiah, the 65th chapter, the 17th verse onwards. And this is for you, beloved people of the most high, on this beautiful Christmas day. For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth. Hallelujah, for behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create. For behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing and her people a joy. I will rejoice in Jerusalem, the joy in my people. The voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
