Speaker 1:

This beautiful day I'm going to talk to you about faith, and today I want to tell you from the word of God what faith actually means. And today I want to tell you from the word of God what faith actually means. And I'm getting directly into the word of God and I'm sharing to you from the book of Hebrews, the 11th chapter, the first verse. Hebrews, the 11th chapter, the first verse. Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, hallelujah. I'd like to read it to you also from the Amplified Version and listen to it, because the Amplified Version obviously has, as the word goes, is amplified. Now. Faith is the assurance, title, deed or confirmation in brackets of things hoped for in bracket, divinely guaranteed, and the evidence of things not seen, the conviction of their reality. Faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses. Oh, hallelujah. Hebrews 11.1. You should mark it and I'm going back to the earlier version. Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. And the Amplified says faith is the assurance, it's the title, deed or the confirmation of things hoped for, which is divinely guaranteed, and the evidence of things not seen is the conviction of their reality. Faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses. Oh beautiful Hallelujah. Hebrews 11.1,. Mark it down. So faith is being sure of what is going to happen. Faith means to be sure, according to the Bible, of what is going to happen, having no doubt that Jesus is in control. Jesus is in control, but the situation may look like something else with our worldly wisdom and with our eyes or what we hear around us or what's coming from different people about it. But you should know and be assured of the outcome through the word of God. That's what faith is. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

Second Corinthians says that I, I walk by faith and not by sight. We even have a song for it I walk by faith, not by sight. Hallelujah. Second Corinthians says that walk by faith. I walk by faith and not by sight. And we are supposed to walk by the Word of God, not by sight, not by what that girl that that colleague in your office is telling you, not by what the market says, not by what your bank balance says, not by what that medical report is telling you, but by what the word of God says. And I know it's easier said than done, but this is the word of God for you this morning, and let me just tell you what Hebrews says further in the in the 11th chapter, the third verse by faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hallelujah, it's deep, but it's yet very simple when you read it. By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which are seen, the things that you see right in front of you yes, that vehicle that's moving in front of you. Yes, that mountain that stands there. Yes, that large skyscraper of a building. Yes, that individual from your office who's coming against you, yes, that boss, yes, that report that's in your hand I mean from things that are not visible. Now, you see, the world is made by things that are not visible, which means and as clearly put in the first line, the worlds were framed by the Word of God. You should understand this morning from Hebrews, the 11th chapter, the first three verses, that the spiritual world is what governs the physical world that we live in. This world of ours, this earth that we live in, is ruled by the word of god earlier and that's why it starts with 11 hebrews 11 3 starts with by faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of god. Hallelujah, you better be getting it this morning, and I want to tell you so.

Speaker 1:

Whenever you are in a particular situation and you need help, need to turn to the Word of God and see what the Word of God says. No matter what your situation is, do you know what the Word of God says about it? I'll start you off with one. Matthew 4.4 says but Jesus replied. When Jesus is talking, you pay attention. And Jesus replied it is written and forever remains written.

Speaker 1:

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God. Oh, hallelujah, you see, you don't live by the food that you eat. Is what Jesus is saying? Yes, you do live by the food that you eat. Is what Jesus is saying? Yes, you do live by the food you eat because it's a physical act and you're a physical being and we are all physical beings on this earth, which is a physical planet. And he says it is written, forever will remain written. Man shall not live by bread alone. You see, you don't just need food to live on this planet. You also need every word that comes out of the mouth of God. You need the Bible, you need Jesus, hallelujah. You need to be aligned to the word of God to live on this planet. That's Matthew 4.4 for you.

Speaker 1:

Go ahead and meditate on it. Let me tell you what happens if you have a health issue. Let me tell you what the word of God says Psalm 103.2. Bless the Lord, o my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Who forgives all your iniquities? Who heals all your diseases? Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah Heals all our disease. Hallelujah, hallelujah Heals all our disease. Hallelujah. That's Psalm 103, 2 and 3.

Speaker 1:

Isaiah 53, 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions. This is Jesus on the cross. He was crushed for our wickedness. The punishment of our well-being fell upon him and by his stripes we are healed. Hallelujah, amen. By his stripes that he bore on the cross so many years before you even came on this planet, you are already healed. We are healed. It's past tense, it's done on the cross. Hallelujah. That's the word of god. You need a financial blessing.

Speaker 1:

Let me tell you what the word of god says. Isaiah 45, 3. And believe me, you should mark these scriptures down. These are such beautiful scriptures pertaining to your situations in life that we all go through on this planet and today, through the word of God. I've already told you you need to know the answer through the word of God. You cannot live just by food or by bread, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God, and his word is the Bible, his word is Jesus. So know the answer when you come to the situation through the word of God.

Speaker 1:

Isaiah 45, 3,. I will give you the treasures of darkness, the hoarded treasures Hoarded treasures, amen and the hidden riches of secret places, so that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name Amen, hallelujah. Amen means so be it, and hallelujah means praise the Lord. In fact, some of you have already moved into this phase in life when understand that this is only god who's doing this for you. You knew this would never be possible in real life and here. Yet you are at a point where you can see the things are just happening for you on the financial front. Hallelujah, praise god for that. Deuteronomy 28, 3 and 4 says blessed shall you be in the city, amen, and blessed shall you be in the country. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds and the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock. Amen, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

And for someone here this morning, if you think you're alone and you have no one to you, think you are alone because that's what your sight shows you, that's what the things around you show you. But hey, remember you walk by faith and not by sight. And let me tell you what the word of god is saying about your situation. Deuteronomy 31 8 I, it is, I'm, it is the Lord who goes before you. This is for you. It is the Lord who goes before you. Oh, lift up your head, look, look towards the sky, look around you. It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor abandon you. Do not fear or be dismayed. Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah. And wait if that's not enough.

Speaker 1:

Isaiah 41.10. Fear not, says the Lord, for I am with you. Oh, the Lord is telling you this morning that he is with you. What more do you need? I am with you. Be not dismay you this morning that he is with you. What, what more do you need? I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your god. I will strengthen you now. You don't need anyone else. You don't need that 3 am friend. You don't need that friend that has a huge bank balance, or that person who has the contacts with the lawyers. You don't need them. I will strengthen you, is saying the master, the creator of heaven and earth. Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you in my righteous right hand. Amen, oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. As I have 45 too, I will go before you and make the crooked path straight. I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. Oh, the Lord is saying this to you. Oh hallelujah, what more do you need?

Speaker 1:

This is just a few of the scriptures that I can share with you this morning. From the word of God pertaining to your situation, some of the smallest situations that might happen. From the word of God pertaining to your situation, some of the smallest situations that might happen, and I'm going back to Hebrews 11 1 Now, faith is a substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hallelujah, that means through the scripture, and Hebrews 11 1 and all the earlier scriptures that I've just shared with you this morning. You should understand, you should believe and know, you should be assured you should be knowing this science, seen and delivered that they have already come to life. For Hallelujah, hallelujah. That's because the word of God says I am watching over my word To perform it. Oh, hallelujah, those of you who got it got it. I am watching over my word to perform it. That's present, continuous. It's been released, it is done, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

But there is something I need to share with you this morning, and it's an important one and it's something I cannot leave out. God has done what he had to do. He created the planets, he released the word, he sent the word amongst us. He died on a cross. He rose on the third day. He is seated at the right hand of God. This morning, right now, whenever you hear this, it's all done.

Speaker 1:

But after all this, there's something you have to do, and it's James 2.26. Mark it down from James 2.26. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. Oh no, without works is dead also. Oh no. For as the body without the spirit is dead and I'm not getting into that because that's just for a whole new topic for a whole new day. But so also, faith without works is dead. Oh so, having faith to move mountains is useless if you don't back it up with an action. Hallelujah, that's on you and me this morning too. You have to take a step of faith. Only then will you see it come through. You need to take a step of faith. There needs to be an action to back up the word of God. He's released his word millions I don't even know how many years ago. I'm not even getting there. And now all that's left is for you to take a step. That's it so easy, yet so difficult. But hey, it's in the word of God, james 2.26. So faith without works is also dead, and let me give you a few examples this morning that you need that prove to you that you need to take a step of faith.

Speaker 1:

I want to tell you that when Jesus was walking on the water and his disciples were scared in the boat, he just looked at the boat and he said come, it is me. And everyone said oh, lord, if it is you, call me, call us and we will come to you. And he says Come, and Peter stepped out of the boat and he walked on water, hallelujah. Jesus just said Come. Any of those disciples could have stepped up, but only one did. Only one took a step. Only one backed up the word of God with an action. Only one backed up the word of God with an action. Only one backed up the word of Jesus with an action. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

Let me take you to a time of Shadrach, meshach and Abednego, when the king Nebuchadnezzar made a statue of gold that everyone had to bow down to, and the three of them didn't do it. And he made a decree saying that they would be the people who didn't do it would be thrown into the furnace. So he calls them and they are important people to him, by the way but he's poisoned in his mind by the people who want to trap them. And he asked them you know, you don't know the rule. You don't bow down to my statue. And they say, no, we won't, we won't. Our God will come and save us. We won't do it. We will bow down to the Most High. Only the Living God, the one true God, is the only one we will bow down to. We will not bow down to your statue. Do what you want, king. Oh, that's a strong step, isn't it? That's a strong action.

Speaker 1:

And of course, as he promised, he heats up the first seven times more and he throws them in there. The Bible says and wait, alas, what what he says? Didn't we just throw in three seven times more? And he throws them in there. The Bible says and wait, alas, what what he says? Didn't we just throw in three? There are four. Oh, look. He calls his people around him and says look, there are four, aren't there four? What's going on? Yeah, jesus is with them because he looks. And he says he looks like the son of God. Oh, hallelujah. The fourth one looks like the son of God. Oh, for that kind of stand, jesus himself had to come down. That is unbelievable. And they're so confident that I'm going to have to go there and stand and walk in the midst of that furnace with them. Oh hallelujah, I hope you are getting it this morning. Praise Jesus for his word and that he watches over his word to perform it, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

The Bible says nothing happened to them. In fact, even the smell of smoke was not on them, nor was a hair on their head. Even singed oh hallelujah on their head. Even singed oh hallelujah, moses, at the time of Israelites freeing the whole of Israel from slavery, and Egypt right at their back. They're standing there with the army of the Egyptians wanting to kill them all because a Pharaoh's heart was hardened.

Speaker 1:

And God looks at Moses. And they're standing in front of the Red Sea. There's nowhere to go. And God looks at Moses. Why are you crying to me what? Of course we are human, and so was Moses. And though God did so many things to Moses, you needs to understand that of course he was still just only human, and he can see the Red Sea in front of him, physical form. I walk by faith and not by sight. Sight shows him the Red Sea in front of him and he sees the Red Sea. And then God says why are you crying to me? Lift up your staff, lift up your rod, raise your hand and I will part the sea. Oh, and you know what? Moses raised his rod and he stretched out his hand. You know what? The Red Sea was parted, hallelujah. And the Israelites walked through the midst of the Red Sea on dry ground. Hallelujah, hallelujah, beautiful Savior Noah built an ark when he was warned by God about the earth, that it was going to be destroyed by a flood.

Speaker 1:

And let me tell you something the world had never seen rain before that. The world, the bible says the vegetation used to be watered from a dew that came from the ground up. So the world had never seen rain. But yet, on the word of God, noah builds an ark. Can you believe how many people would have looked and said this man has lost his mind? And he's not just building an ark, he's building an ark which can accommodate every possible thing on the planet, one pair of each and his family, as said by God. So you see, he built an ark and I'm sure people must have really made fun of him. It mattered not because the rain came and so did the flood, hallelujah. And as the word of God had come to Noah, he took every animal and pest, as told to him by God, and his family and he went into the ark and the earth was left after the flood only with what was in that ark.

Speaker 1:

The word, followed by an action Moses, the word, followed by an action. Shadrach, meshach and Abednego. The word followed by an action Peter, the word followed by an action Shadrach, meshach and Abednego. The word followed by an action Peter, the word followed by an action, or can I? Can I give you any more examples? I don't think I need to, for as the body without the spirit is dead and faith without works is dead, hallelujah, this beautiful morning, people, people of the Most High, the ones who know Jesus, and even if you don't know Jesus today, you should take a step of faith and you will see the salvation of the Lord come through.

Speaker 1:

You will see, he is not a man. He watches, he is watching over his word to perform it, and if you release it and take a step, he has. No, he remains faithful, though you remain faithless. He's not a respecter of men, hallelujah. He's not a man. He's a debtor to no man. Hallelujah, just as he did for Peter, as he did for Moses and the Israelites, as he did for Shadrach, meshach and Abednego, as he did for Noah and for anyone else who's mentioned in the Bible who took a step of faith. The reason why they are mentioned in the Bible is because they took a step of faith. Please understand that. He will do it for you too.

Speaker 1:

Just believe, first off, I think. Know his word, get up in the morning, have a relationship with him, read the Bible, get to know what the Bible says about your situation. So tomorrow you're not just living on bread, but by also every word that comes out of the mouth of god. You don't have a bible? Go buy one. You don't want to buy one? Go download the app. It's that simple nowadays. But know his word and then take a step, take a step of faith, back it up with an action and you will see him come through hall. Hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

I thank you for this beautiful word, lord. I thank you for this time. I thank you, lord. People can feel your presence. I thank you, lord, for your word. Your double-edged sword does not go back until it has achieved what it has been set out for. I thank you, lord, that it cuts through bone and marrow. Lord. I thank you, lord, you're watching over your word to out, for I thank you, lord, that it cuts through bone and marrow.

Speaker 1:

Lord. I thank you, lord, you're watching over your word to perform it. I thank you. You have already released things, lord, into people's lives. Oh, glory, glory to your name, lord, beautiful Savior, glorious Lord, lord, a victorious one, faithful one, thank you for giving up your life on a cross for us, lord. Thank you for being obedient to death, and death on a cross just for us. Thank you, lord, that you are alive. Thank you, lord, that you're always there with us and you never leave us nor forsake us, and you always are our right hander. Thank you, beautiful Saviour. Thank you, lord, for this beautiful time, thank you for this beautiful word, thank you for your beautiful presence that can be felt in people's homes and where they are at as they hear this Lord. Thank you, lord. In Jesus' name, I pray Amen.
