Trust In God
Trust in God
Join us this week to understand the importance of putting your trust in God.
After this episode you will know that Jesus is the Rock and there is no better way than to build the foundation of your life on this planet on Him.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord And whose trust is the Lord.”
- Jeremiah 17:7 NASB1995
I'm going to get straight into it and I'll start by telling you that when Jesus was on the planet, he spoke beautiful parables, explaining things of the kingdom of God to people through examples, trying to show people the way of the kingdom of heaven.
Speaker 1:And I want to tell you, sometimes he's spoken in these parables that had beautiful hidden secrets and then later on he explained it to his disciples on how to live life on this planet and be fruitful, how to know your father, to have a relationship with him. And today, what best to do than to discover one of the beautiful parables that Jesus spoke while he was on this planet? So I'll just take you back in time and in chronological order of how things panned out and I'll tell you that Jesus was led by the spirit the Bible says to the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, and he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights and then, when he was back and after the temptation from the devil was done, he shunned him away and he picked his first few disciples. The Bible mentions Simon, who was called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, who were fishermen, who was called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, who were fishermen, and then another set of brothers called James and John, hallelujah. As I said, chronological order. And following this, jesus went through all of Galilee. The Bible says teaching in the synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and it also documents every kind of disease and sickness. And I'm reading to you from the book of Matthew, from the Bible the news about him spread throughout all Syria and they brought to him all who were ill, those suffering from various diseases and pain demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics and he healed them all. And large crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan, hallelujah. Decapolis at that time was the famous 10 cities, which goes into other countries like Syria and Jordan. So his popularity is splitting and people are bringing their sick because they get to know that he is healing all kinds of diseases. And you must understand that this was a very different time. I don't know what kind of doctors and medication they had there, but just know that leprosy was the biggest thing at that time, a thing that couldn't be healed, and those people were taken out of the city and they were put in the outskirts of the city because the disease was high, contagious. But anyway, jesus was healing them all.
Speaker 1:The bible says, and it says that one day, jesus goes up a mountain and, after seeing the crowds following him, he sits down and his disciples come to him and he begins to teach them. And I'm going to share with you today. This, this morning, is from the book of Matthew, the seventh chapter, and, if you'd like, as I said, everything that I've shared with you was the chronological order of how it happened, and you can go ahead and read it from the book of Matthew anytime you'd like. This particular parable, I'm going straight into it. Jesus talks about two foundations. Particular parable, I'm going straight into it. Jesus talks about two foundations, two foundations that a man can build a house on, or that a man can build his house on Two kinds of men the wise man and the foolish man. And while he's talking, he starts with everyone who hears words and acts on them, maybe compared to a wise man, the wise man who built his house on a rock. And the Bible says, I told you from Matthew, 7 chapter, and the rain fell and the floods come and the winds blew and slammed against that house and it didn't fall for it had been founded on the rock. Oh, hallelujah, for it had been founded on the rock. Oh, hallelujah, I'm going to read it again. It's so beautiful and so powerful and so meaningful at so many levels. The wise man who built his house on a rock and the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and slammed against that house and it did not fall for it had been founded on the rock. Matthew, chapter 26, verse 1, was everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn't act on them Will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand and the rain fell and the floods came and winds blew and slammed against that house and it fell, and great was its fall. The foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, just as the same situation earlier the winds blew, the floods came and they slammed against the house and it fell and great was its fall.
Speaker 1:Wisdom shared by Jesus. Most of us know this this morning that a building, or even a house for that matter, is all about the foundation and here what Jesus is referring to when he says house. I want to tell you this morning he means your life here on this planet, your foundation For your life here on this planet. The Bible says the earth is a footstool and we are here Period of time, and what he is referring to While he was on this planet Was about how you build your foundation For your life on this planet. You build your foundation for your life on this planet. Wisdom and a wise man, he says, builds a house on rock. He's telling the people and his disciples the storm comes and it survives it. The storms will come and that wise man will survive it. The rain will come, the flood will come, the winds will blow and they will slam against and the house will stand firm. Mind you, he says the rain will, the winds will blow and they will slam against the house, which means you will have tribulations on this planet. That too is the wisdom of God. It's true, it's not me, it's in the Bible. But hey, the house that was built on the rock stood firm, Hallelujah. But the foolish man, he built his house on the sand. The Bible says and he's Jesus is quoting this the rain comes, the flood comes, the wind blows and slams against that house and it falls. And you know what? The fall of that house is great.
Speaker 1:The storms of life is what Jesus is referring to here this morning and for some of you here. You know, we sometimes and we're all human, you know we always stand up and say why is this happening and why did that happen, and why does this have to happen to me and why does that have to happen me and why does that have to happen? Those are the storms of life. They happen and they will come during your life on this planet the rains, the flood, strong winds and they will slam against your life but will either stand firm or you will crash. And that's the story that Jesus wanted to tell his disciples and the story that Jesus wanted to tell the people that there is an example here that he's sharing, of a wise man who's built his house on a rock and a foolish man who's built his house on a rock and a foolish man who's built his house on the sand. And today I play into you through the word of God what is the rock and what is the sand? And I have a very, very short word this morning, but it's an important one. It's one that will change some people's lives If you understand it and accept it in your spirit. That's on you.
Speaker 1:On Jeremiah. I'm going straight into Jeremiah 17, 7, and I'm reading to you from the word of God, blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord. And then 17.8 goes on to say For he will be like a tree planted by the water that extends its roots by a stream Hallelujah and will not fear when the heat comes, but its leaves will be green when the heat comes, but its leaves will be green and it will not be anxious in a year of drought, nor cease to yield fruit. Oh hallelujah, oh hallelujah. It's clear as day. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water that extend its roots by a stream, and it will not fail when the heat comes, but its leaves will be green, it will not be anxious in a year of drought, nor cease to yield fruit. Amen, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And I want to tell you this beautiful morning, it's as I said. Everything I want to tell you I said before, I'll say it again in the Bible is interlinked. Everything, first of all, is a secret that needs to be unraveled and secondly, they are all interlinked. The beautiful blessings of God are interlinked. And I want to tell you this morning blessed is the man who trusts in God. He is the one whose house is built on the rock. Blessed is the man who puts his trust in Jesus because he is the rock, hallelujah. And I want to tell you this morning that if you put your trust in Jesus and build your life upon the rock, you will be a tree planted on the water, as the word of God says, whose roots extend by the stream and will not fear when the heat comes, but your leaves will remain green, and you will not be anxious when drought comes, but instead you will always bear fruit. Hallelujah. A tree planted by water, whose roots extend by the stream, and the rains will come and the floods will come, and the strong winds and they will slam against you will stand firm, hallelujah, because you have built your life on the rock, you have built your life on Jesus, you've built your life on the word of God. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:There's a passage of scripture that says some men trust in horses, some men trust in chariots, but we will trust in the name of the Lord. You can put your trust in other people. You will be that other guy, that guy who chose to build on sand, or you can put your trust in the name of the Lord, you can put your trust in the rock, you can put your trust in Jesus and you will be that man, woman, child you know what I mean who built their house on the rock, and it will stand firm, no matter what, because of its foundation. And I want to tell you something which was told to me that I have to share with you this beautiful morning. And if you're wondering, why would Jesus say that it's a tree planted by the water? Which tree is planted by water? Everyone knows that a tree is planted on soil. Which tree can be planted by water? Hallelujah.
Speaker 1:I'll give you the explanation this morning and I'll tell you that one of the most powerful in the bible is the book of revelation and was given to john when he was at the island of patmos, because he was. He was shunned because people were just too scared of him. And was given to John when he was at the island of Patmos because he was shunned, because people were just too scared of him and the way God was working with him and in him. So they just put him there on an island so that he doesn't interact with anyone. And that's where Jesus comes to him on the island of Patmos and gives him the revelation of all revelations, and I'm giving it to you from the book of revelations, from the 22nd chapter, the first verse onwards.
Speaker 1:And then he showed me a river of the water of life, oh, hallelujah, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, excuse me. And in the middle of the streets, the streets of the Lamb, excuse me. And in the middle of the streets, the streets of the New Jerusalem, on either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing 12 kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Amen, that's the water, that's the river. But for the healing of the nations, amen, that's the water, that's the river that your life will be planted on, the river that comes from God, the river that comes from the throne of God, and you won't have to fear the arrow by day or the pestilence by night, because it is this river, one crystal, clear crystal that's coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb that has gifted you, hallelujah, and your life that has suited you. Hallelujah, and your life Will be a tree planted by the water and you won't have to fear when the heat comes, because the heat does come. And you won't have to fear and your lives will always begin as aligned to the word of God from the book of Jeremiah. It will be, and you will not be anxious at the time of drought. Thousand may fall at your right, ten thousand at your left, but it will not even come near you, as aligned to the word of God and you will never cease to bear fruit. Hallelujah, hallelujah, oh hallelujah.
Speaker 1:This beautiful morning, you can take a call and take a decision to decide to change everything and build your foundation on the rock, to build your foundation on Jesus. It's very simple. You don't need to do anything. You know a lot of people think that so many rituals that you know you don't need to do anything. You just need to go to those one door, sitting in a room alone, and say Lord, I know you are my father and come into my life.
Speaker 1:I leave everything at your feet. I know you are the son of God. I know you died on the cross for me. I know you were raised from the grave on the third day. I know you are seated at the right hand of God and you are alive today and I leave everything at your feet. I accuse you as my father and my savior Come into my life, lord, take control and there you will be, that man, that woman, that child, who has built your house on the rock of hallelujah.
Speaker 1:May God fill you with his wisdom, that you have understood his word today. May he touch your heart and when you call out to him, he will answer and show you great and mighty things you know, not of Hallelujah. Dear Lord, I thank you for this beautiful time. I thank you for your word. I thank you, lord, that you are watching over your word to perform it. I thank you, lord, that you have changed people's hearts. I thank you, lord, that you have changed people's hearts. I thank you, lord, that your word says when they will call on to you, you will answer them, lord, and you will show them the rock. You will take them to a place that's higher than themselves, lord, that they may build their life on you, and I thank you, lord, into your word.
Speaker 1:Blessed is the man who trusts in you, lord, for he will be like a tree planted by the waters and its roots will extend by the streams, and they will not fear when the heat comes.
Speaker 1:Lord, your people and their leaves will always be green and they will not be anxious at the time of drought, nor will they yield fruit. They will always be green and they will not be anxious at the time of drought, nor will they yield fruit. They will always be fruitful, as aligned to your word, and I thank you, lord, that thousand may fall at their right, ten thousand at their left, but it will not even come near them, lord, and they will see the disaster, lord, but it will not touch them. They will not fear the pens by night, nor the arrow that flies by day. They will not be afraid of the foulest snare, because you are at their right-hand side and you guide their paths. I thank you, lord, that today you've entered people's lives and their homes and they've built their life upon you, the rock of salvation. Hallelujah. Thank you for this time, lord. In jesus name, I pray amen.
