Negotiated

Subir Joshua Gorey Season 3 Episode 7

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit face-to-face with God, to share a meal, and engage in heartfelt conversation?

In this week's episode, we explore the powerful story of Abraham—how he didn’t just encounter God, but had conversations with Him.

It's a moment that reveals God's nature in ways that and are deeply personal and compassionate.

This is more than a story—it's a perspective on how Jesus negotiated for mankind. And to those who embrace this new perspective, a blessing awaits.

“Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.”

- Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Speaker 1:

I have something very special to share with each of you today, and I want to get right into it today. And I want to get right into it and I want to start with an event at the time in the life of Abraham, and the story that I'm going to share with you today is it's such a beautiful one, it's so, it's so unique and it's so it will hit you on many levels. Let me tell you that today, and it so says that, and what I'm sharing with you is from the book of Genesis. Today it's the. It's in the 18th chapter, and the Bible says that Abraham and I know some of you have wonderful imaginations and you can imagine this the way you'd like to, because it's documented in the Bible and it says that Abraham was sitting at the, at his tent door. They used to hold in times and they used to live in tents, and don't picture tent as a small little, you know triangle, but this was a huge house, but basically it's a tent and he's sitting outside his door in the heat of the day. The Bible says, and the Bible says that the Lord appeared to Moses, appeared to Abraham at the oaks of Mamre, or Mamre, whatever you want to call it. It's basically an oak, hallelujah. So Abraham is sitting outside his tent door and the Bible says it's a hot day, so he's sitting outside his tent door in the heat of the day.

Speaker 1:

The bible says, and it says the lord appeared to abraham at the oaks of mamre, oh, hallelujah. And it says while he lifted up his eyes and he looked at them, he ran towards them. So obviously the tree might have been slightly further away from his tent. So the bible says he ran towards them and behold, there were three men standing there, hallelujah. And the Bible says he ran from his tent and he bowed down to them. And I'm reading to you directly from the word of God, from the book of Genesis, the 18th chapter. He says my lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, please do not pass your servant by. Please let a little water be brought and wash your feet and rest yourselves under the tree, and I will bring a piece of bread that you may refresh yourselves, that after you eat you may go on, since you have visited your servant, hallelujah. And the bible says and they said so, do as you have said. Hallelujah. So it's beautiful. You see, now Abraham is sitting outside his tent and the Lord comes to Abraham and he runs towards the tree of Mamre and he bows down to them and the Bible says there are three men. I leave that for you to understand in your spirit. It's the Bible, it's the Bible, it's not me. And then he goes on to say my Lord, since you are here and you've come on this beautiful day and I'm your servant, just let me wash your feet and let me give you something that you don't pass me by. I have a refreshment at my home. And then the Lord says, okay, do as you have said. And I want to tell you, wow, how, how beautiful is this.

Speaker 1:

Abraham is having a conversation with God. This is beautiful. And I mean these these obviously were very different times when God was walking amongst humans and he's visited his home and he, he asks him that I will make something for you and he says, okay, go ahead and do it. And the Bible goes on to say that Abraham then hurries to his home and he asks him that I will make something for you and he says, okay, go ahead and do it. And the Bible goes on to say that Abraham then hurries to his tent and he goes to his wife His wife's name is Sarah and he tells her take three fine portions of flour and knead them and make bread. And then he runs to the herd, the Bible says and he takes a tender, choice calf and he gives it to his servant and the servant hurries to prepare it. So suddenly there's this massive change of events where now things are just happening. And then the bible says he took curd and milk and the calf that he had prepared and placed it before them and he was standing beside them under the tree as they ate. Oh hallelujah, that's beautiful. So the Lord tells Abraham he can go ahead and do what he wants to do. And Abraham runs to his wife, tells her take three fine portions of flour, make some bread. Then he runs to the herd and he tells his servant, or the keeper who was there, he takes the choicest calf. The bible says the choicest, tender calf, the bible says and he gives it to the servant for it to be prepared and the servant hurries to prepare it. And then the bible says he takes curds, milk and the calf that he prepared and placed it before them and he was standing beside them under the tree as they ate. Oh hallelujah, god is eating in the presence of abraham.

Speaker 1:

Wow, I just had to share this with you. I thought it was a beautiful story. What a life changing experience for some of you who will experience god, if not already experiencing God right now In true physical form. And you will know it is him, just as Abraham knew. And it so goes on to say that after he finishes, he goes to Abraham and he releases a blessing, a blessing of a child, upon Sarah. And the Bible even says that Sarah is in the tent. She's, as I said, the tree might have been slightly away from the tent and she was inside the tent, the Bible says. And the Bible says that when she hears it, she in fact laughs. How is it possible? Because they were old. And there's another story in there itself where God turns around and says why is she laughing? And Sarah gets scared and she says no, I, I was not laughing. And she denies it. But anyway, god turns around and says that I will come back next year, same time when your wife will bear a child.

Speaker 1:

Abraham, the Bible says, was old when this promise. I believe when Abraham received this promise, he was about 100. And Sarah might have been in her 90s. So that's why she probably laughed. And when she laughed, I want to tell you from the book of Genesis, again the 18th chapter, the 14th verse. He turned to her and he said is anything too difficult for the Lord? Hallelujah, is anything too difficult for the Lord. And I want to tell you there is someone this morning who's thinking that this is something that's beyond God. And I want to tell you that's probably what Sarah thought when God told Abraham that you will bear a son. You will have a son same time next year. And Sarah laughed because that's how she thought. That's how impossible she thought the situation was at probably the age of 90. And, by the way, the Bible does say that Abraham was close to 100 at that time and God promises.

Speaker 1:

God made many promises to Abraham, but he goes ahead and tells him that he will bear a son the next year and she laughs and which is why God turns around and tells her is anything too difficult for the Lord? And that's for you this morning. You think there's something he cannot do. I leave you with it again. It's from the book of Genesis, the 18th chapter, the 14th verse is anything too difficult for the Lord? Hallelujah. I do want to tell you that exactly the same, of course, it's God. Whatever he said will come to life. Whatever he says, his word will come to life. What he told Sarah and Abraham did come to life. Whatever he says, his word will come to life. What he told Sarah and Abraham did come to life. Abraham did bear a son at the wonderful age of 100, and is anything too difficult for the Lord, and I leave you with that, for you to ponder and you to understand. So I want to tell you how this story in the Bible actually unfolds.

Speaker 1:

And it so happens that after they're done eating, they they decide to take a walk. So the Bible says Abraham is walking, with them the three men, hallelujah. And it says that they probably might have been at a hill or an elevated space. So the Bible says that the men look down upon the city called Sodom, and there's a valley there, and there are two cities there called Sodom and Gomorrah. There are multiple cities there, but Sodom, and there's a valley there and there are two cities. They're called Sodom and Gomorrah. There are multiple cities there, but Sodom and Gomorrah was amongst them. And the bible says that the lord looks down upon the city and you have to listen to this. There is.

Speaker 1:

There is a conversation happening between the three men while they're standing in the midst of abram. And I told you this this will touch you on many levels, some of you it will have no effect on, but those of you have a relationship with god will have a whole new relationship with him after this. So it goes on to say that the three men are talking to each other and one tells the other shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? And it says in the book of Genesis since Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation and in him all the nations of the earth will be blessed, amen, for I have chosen him. So they're having this discussion. Should we tell abraham what we're about to do? Hallelujah, and it so happens that god decides to tell abraham that he's about to destroy sodom and gomorrah, that the sins of the city are so large, exceedingly grave.

Speaker 1:

The bible says that he's going to destroy the cities. And I want to tell you this, and this is beautiful abraham begins to negotiate. Abraham negotiates with god, saying that, lord, if there are 50 righteous people in the city, I'm sure you would not destroy it. This is a conversation now happening between god and abraham and he's negotiating with God on Sodom and Gomorrah. And I want to tell you this when he starts with 50, he says won't you spare the city? And God turns around and tells him if I find 50 righteous people in that city, I will spare the city. And Abraham probably in his spirit knows that there aren't 50 righteous people, because if you read the book of Genesis, the 18 and 19 chapter, you will be scared at what's happening in Sodom and Gomorrah and I won't get into it right now. Then, in the same conversation, abraham goes on to the conversation and says oh, pardon me for speaking again in your midst, but what if there were 45 people? Will you destroy the city? And Lord again replies the same If I do find 45, I will not destroy the city if it has 45 righteous people. And let me tell you this 45 goes to 40, 40 goes to 30, 30 goes to 20, 20 goes to 10. It's documented in the bible. Abraham negotiated till it came down to 10, 10. And the last answer from God is I will not destroy the city on account of even 10 righteous people. And the Bible says after that conversation, the three men leave, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

I want to tell you Abraham, the nephew there, whose name was Lot. He lived in Sodom, in case you didn't know, and Abraham was negotiating for his nephew and his family. I want to tell you. You think God didn't know what Abraham was doing. God didn't know what Abraham was doing, which is why he negotiated and he heard his negotiation. I don't know too many people who negotiate with God, but Abraham did and god listened. And I want to tell you something strong negotiation skills by abraham, from 50 bringing it down to 10, and he kept negotiating and god listened. And I'll tell you how. I'll tell you how the story goes.

Speaker 1:

The Bible says the Lord sent two angels the next night to Sodom and Gomorrah and they go and stay in Lot's house because he's the only righteous man in the city, by the way, he and his family, hallelujah. And Lot has a wife and two daughters, the bible says. And to cut a very long story short, I want to tell you that they tell him to leave the next morning, that they are about to destroy the city. They tell lot take your family and leave, because we have been sent to destroy the city. Can you imagine this? Can you imagine these times that angels are talking to a regular man like Lot and God is talking to Abraham. Can you imagine these times? And I want to tell you that they let him go with his family, his wife and his two daughters. The Bible says, and they even tell him go now, because till you reach that place we cannot destroy the city. That means God heard Abraham's negotiations strongly anyway.

Speaker 1:

The Bible says that lot reaches this place called Zohar or Zohar in the morning when the sun's light hits the earth, the bible says. And then the bible says that the lord rained on sodom and gomorrah brimstone and fire out of heaven. He overthrew the cities and all of the valley and all the inhabitants in it, including what grew on the ground. The Bible says he just destroyed it. The Bible even says Lot's wife looked back at the city while it was being destroyed because the angels told Lot please don't look back, just go forward, don't look back. And the Bible says that Lot's wife looks back and she turns into a pillar of salt. She became a pillar of salt. The bible says I don't know why it's there. I don't have an answer for that. Yeah, but she became a pillar of salt. I think maybe disobedience? I'm not sure and I won't get into that today, but Lot was told not to look back when the city was being destroyed and he ran and he reaches Zohar and when the city is being destroyed His wife looks back and turns into a pillar of salt.

Speaker 1:

But today I don't want to bring that to your attention. It was just a beautiful story I told you. I started with telling you this beautiful story. I think it's a life-changing experience. If you understand that the Bible says God is the same. Yesterday, today and forevermore, he spoke with Abraham in person. If you have that kind of a relationship with him, I'm telling you he will speak to you in person too.

Speaker 1:

But today I want to bring to your attention the negotiation skills of Abraham. On behalf behalf of his nephew, on behalf of his family, he negotiated with god relentlessly, all the way down to 10 people's lives that god may spare their lives. And believe me, I told you, don't think that god for once didn't know what abraham was doing. Of course god knew what ab Abraham was doing. The Bible even says God remembered Abraham when he destroyed the cities and the valley and sent lot out of the city. Beautiful hallelujah, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

And I want to tell you today, just as Abraham negotiated hard for Lot and his family it was a hard negotiation, started from 50, went down to 10. But he made his point and Lot made it out of there I want to tell you many, many, many years ago, there was a negotiation for you too. There was a negotiation for you too, a strong and a hard negotiation to save you from destruction. And I want to tell you it was a blood price that was decided upon. And, in case you didn't figure it out, it's Jesus who negotiated for you and Hallelujah. I want to tell you I know in my spirit, it would have been a hard negotiation. A hard negotiation Because he just didn't send any angel.

Speaker 1:

He didn't send, you know, one of the best creations in heaven. Let's send it down, let's sacrifice that, let's make a special lamb and send that down. No, he didn't do that. I want to tell you. He came down himself, jesus came down himself to ensure the negotiation was sealed, hallelujah. And he became that sacrifice for you and me, hallelujah. And I want to tell you he negotiated his life for you and me. And in case you didn't know, let me reiterate this he negotiated you by name, hallelujah. The bible says I have your name on the palm of my hand, so, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

In case you didn't understand any of this, let me tell you jesus, don't miss it and don't ever, ever forget it. And let me tell you, in case it's too much for your mind to even understand, what this is about. Let it be, don't try to analyze it, don't try to make head nor tail about it, because god came to Abraham in threefold hallelujah. There were three men. And the same way. Don't try to fathom what Jesus came on this planet to do for you and me. Just get it in your spirit and understand it in your spirit. It was a heavy price to pay, a very, very heavy price, and he negotiated for you and he paid the price for you by hanging on a cross and giving up his life on a cross for you and me.

Speaker 1:

Beautiful saviour, glorious Jesus, let it sink into your spirit today, and understand it fully, that the creator, the same one who was there with Abraham and Abraham negotiated with him to save that city, a few people in that city, that same person, many, many, many years later maybe many years before that too, you never know negotiated for you to come down on this planet. Don't give it, don't give it. What if there were one million righteous people? They will be righteous through me. What a negotiation. The creator came down to his creation and, what's more, he gave up his life on a cross for you and me and in that, became the good shepherd. The good shepherd, I am the good shepherd, he said, the one who lays down his life for his sheep.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah, rejoice today, knowing that he has negotiated for you. Bask in his presence. Some of you can feel his presence. Enjoy it. What a week, what a month, what a year we are going to have.

Speaker 1:

We're bang in the middle of the year. It's the sixth month and it's the first day of the sixth month. Rejoice, knowing that he has negotiated for you. There was no one else who negotiated for you but he himself, and he purchased you by his blood. Wait, I'm not giving you coins, I ain't giving you currency or Bitcoin. I'm giving you my blood. Oh, hallelujah, the sinless lamb of God who take away the sins of the earth, that one came down and willingly gave up his life on a cross for you and me. And hallelujah, and I want to tell you, aligned with that, and aligned to the time of abraham, and aligned to this word. This morning I want to tell you you have a fresh start. Lord had a fresh start. His fresh start didn't include his wife and, as I said, I don't have the answer to that, but you have a fresh start this morning because of what he has done on that cross for you, because of his negotiation for you by name. Don't miss it.

Speaker 1:
