Under His Protection
In uncertain times, the one assurance we can truly rely on is God’s unwavering love and protection toward us.
No matter who you are, He knows you by name before you were formed.
This week’s episode reveals how far God will go to guard you, guide you, and surround you with His love.
“For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge.”
- Psalms 91:3-4 NASB1995
I want to get straight into it and I want to tell you that last week we heard about the love that God has for you and me, how he came down on the planet just for you and me to hang on a cross and give up his life, that you and I may have a life and have it more abundantly. And Isaiah 49.16 that says that tells us that our names are inscribed on the palms of his hands and our walls are continually before him, hallelujah. I've said this before and I'm going to say it again today that nothing can encompass what Jesus has done on that cross for you and me Nothing. There is nothing on this planet that never, that ever has been and that ever will be anything bigger than what was done as an act of love for you and me on that cross. And I want to share a beautiful psalm with you this morning and that's what I want to start with and I'm excited about this morning. And I'm reading from Psalm 77, the 11th chapter onwards, uh, this 7777 chapter, the 11th verse onwards. And it says I shall remember the deeds of the Lord. Surely I will remember your wonders of old, I will meditate on all your work and muse on your deeds, your way, o God is holy. What God is great, like our God, hallelujah. What a beautiful passage of scripture, what a powerful, wonderful psalm.
Speaker 1:And I want to tell you, in the Old Testament, israel refers to his people. Wherever you see the word Israel, it means his people. And after Jesus came on this planet, after he came to us, in the New Testament, wherever you see Israel, it means the same thing his people, but through Jesus. So I want to tell you, in case you didn't know what exactly happened when, when God brought his people out of slavery, I want to tell you that Psalm 105 says that he brought them out with silver and gold and none among them were feeble. Just to let you know, his people, israel, were slaves under Egypt and they kept crying out to God as to why was this happening to them. And God finally decided to answer and bring them out of Egypt and bring them out of slavery.
Speaker 1:And the Bible so goes on to say he picked a man by the name of Moses and I think you know about that story, but I'm not getting into that this morning and then he sends Moses to free them, and he frees them in in a very flamboyant manner. But the Pharaoh's heart was very hard and he didn't want to let them go. So he pursues them and I want to tell you that the Bible, in the book of Exodus, the 13th chapter, I want to tell you that after he got them out of Egypt, the Bible says that obviously God knows everything and he knew that Egypt and the Pharaoh are going to come after them. So the Bible says that there was a pillar, the Lord was in that pillar and there was a pillar of cloud by day that led the way as to where they're supposed to go. And that same pillar became a pillar of fire by night to give them light that they can continue traveling in the night also, hallelujah, traveling in the night also, hallelujah. And the bible says and as I said, you can read it, it's Exodus in the 13th chapter he did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night from before his people, hallelujah. And then the bible so goes on to say that the, the egyptians, follow them and of course god knew this was going to happen. And there's this time when they're standing in front of the red sea and god parts the red sea. The bible says he divided the sea right before his people, that they walked on dry land hallelujah In the midst of the sea To escape the Egyptians, hallelujah. And at this time the Bible even says that the pillar of fire turns from the front and goes to the back To protect and make a, make a distance between the Egyptians and the Israelites, that they will cross over the sea. You have to read it, it's amazing. And he even tells Moses that I will harden the Pharaoh's heart and he will follow you and I will destroy him. He tells that to Moses also. And the Bible says he made the waters come back on the Egyptians as they pursued the Israelites. The waters returned and covered the Pharaoh's entire army. All the Egyptian chariots, the horsemen Were there, no more. Hallelujah, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:I started with Psalm 77. And it says I shall remember the deeds of the Lord. I will not, surely, I will remember your wonders of old. I'm just giving you a few of the wonders of old, just a few on what he did when he got his people out of slavery. And let me tell you that before he parts the Red Sea, this is something that he tells to Moses and it's for you and me this morning from the book of Exodus, and you should mark this down Exodus 14.14.
Speaker 1:The book of Exodus, and you should mark this down Exodus 14. The Lord will fight for you While you keep silent. Amen. He basically tells Moses why are you crying? Why do you cry to me? Go forward, how can you go forward? There is the Red Sea there. And that's when he tells him the Lord will fight for you while you keep silent, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And Exodus 14,.
Speaker 1:13 says do not fear, stand by and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will accomplish for you today, for the Egyptians who you have seen today.
Speaker 1:You will never see them again, forever. Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah. I want to tell you this morning, whatever your Egypt is because you know you can have multiple things that keep you bound. You have multiple things that put a weight on your back. You'll have multiple things that add to your. You know your so-called stress and your things that don't give you peace of mind. But Jesus said I've come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. And I want to tell you that Egypt has been removed from your midst this beautiful morning.
Speaker 1:The Bible says God is the same yesterday and today and forevermore. And I won't tell you. The Israelites kept calling out to him. They kept calling out to him. I don't know what was the reason of the gap, of the answer. That's on God, that's between God and them. But he answered and when he answered and he got them out of slavery, he did it in a flamboyant manner, because that's the God that you and I serve. I shall remember the deeds of the Lord. I will remember your wonders of old. I will meditate on all your work and muse on your deeds. Your way, your God is holy. What God is great, like our God. Amen, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:I actually have a very short word this morning, but I want to tell you that you know these are, these are strange times. Someone is going through a strange time, maybe a lot of you are, I'm not sure, and things you probably can't explain, the things that are happening around you. Some of you are probably looking at the news and it makes you uncomfortable, and you're reading things on Instagram and the internet and you're worried about it, but in general, maybe feeling unsafe and uncomfortable about something, I'm not too sure what. But I want to tell you this morning that the Lord is your shepherd and His protection is yours, as I have. 49 says your walls are continually before me. Your walls are continually before me. Your walls are continually before me and His protection is yours.
Speaker 1:This morning, and I'm reading it to you from Psalm, the book of Psalm 91, the third verse that says For it is he who delivers you from the snare of the trapper. Alleluia, for it is he who delivers you from the snare of the trapper. Hallelujah, for it is he who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you under His pinions and under His wings you will seek refuge. His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. Hallelujah, his wings. Under his wings you will seek refuge. Hallelujah.
Speaker 1:I want to tell you, whatever situation that you're in, the one who comes to lie, steal and destroy is the trapper. And I want to tell you, whatever situation that you're in, the one who comes to lie, steal and destroy is the trapper. And I want to tell you he's already a defeated foe. Just as the Egyptians were defeated, they still pursued, and this defeated foe, too, he will pursue. But the Lord will deliver you is what this passage of scripture says. And this is for someone who needs his protection, because I know you need his protection this morning and the lord will protect you from everything you see happening around you. The lord will cover you under his wings. You will take refuge, amen, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And the same chapter, the fifth verse onwards, says you will not be afraid of the terror by night, or the arrow that flies by day, or the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. Amen, it will not approach you. Hallelujah, amen, oh. Mark this passage of scripture down and remember it. And anytime you feel that you are alone, I told you that you are alone. I told you the trapper it starts when he comes to lie. That means he's just lying in your ear that you're alone. What are you going to do? Is God listening to you? And God's word to you is I have you on the palms of my hand and I'm constantly watching you. That's his promise to you. So, no matter what, mark this passage of scripture down.
Speaker 1:Isaiah 91 is basically a passage of scripture for protection and from the third verse onwards till the seventh verse, it's for you this morning. Hallelujah. And in case this is for someone, I think you're in a very lonely place and I want to tell you that you're never alone. He said that he will never leave you nor forsake you. Is what his word says. I don't know what you're battling with right now. I don't know who has left you or why you're feeling so lonely, but here's something that the Lord is releasing for you this morning.
Speaker 1:The Lord from Zephaniah 3.17. The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exalt over you with joy, hallelujah. He will quiet you in His love. He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy. Hallelujah, the Lord, your God, is in your midst. Hallelujah, don't be mistaken, don't be in any doubt. He is in your midst and in case you don't know where he is, he is always at your right hand, hallelujah. Let me just tell you. For some of you who don't know, the victorious warrior is the form of Jesus, where he has bronze feet and his hair is white as snow and his eyes are burlish bronze like fire from a furnace. That is the victorious warrior, the one who conquers everything. He is in your midst and he will exult over you. He will rejoice over you with joy.
Speaker 1:The Bible says If you don't know what it's like to rejoice over someone with joy, is you being joyful in that person? Have you ever been joyful in someone? Yes, we all have. And he will rejoice over you. With singing, the Bible says Hallelujah, hallelujah, I will never leave you nor forsake you. He says I will never leave you nor forsake you. Hallelujah, hallelujah, I will never leave you nor forsake you. He says I will never leave you nor forsake you. Hallelujah, what a beautiful… some of you can feel the presence of God, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And I just want to finish with this last passage of scripture. And before I go to that passage of scripture, I want to read Psalm 77 again to you. I shall remember the deeds of the Lord and I will remember your wonders of old. I will meditate on all your work and muse on your deeds. Oh Lord, how holy are you, your way. What God is great like our God. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:Mark this passage of scripture down. It's from the book of Revelations, the third chapter, the eighth verse. Revelations, the third chapter, the eighth verse. It says I know your deeds. I know your deeds, you know I walk on this planet.
Speaker 1:We invariably seek human approval, and there's somebody who's seeking someone's approval, and I want to tell you this morning that the creator of heaven and earth is telling you I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and I've kept my word and I've not denied my name. Hallelujah, hallelujah. I know your deeds. I know your deeds, I know the things that you have done and, behold, because of that, I've put before you an open door which no one can shut. Hallelujah, praise God, amen. Because you have a little power, just because, whatever little you had, and no matter what came against you, you stood up for him and have kept my word. He's telling you this morning, because you have a little power, just a little little small creation of his that you are, and you have kept his word and you have not denied his name. He is honoring you this morning with that open door. Whatever it is that you are seeking, you have already got it. It's written to you. Hallelujah, I'd like to pray to you.
Speaker 1:Lord, I thank you for this beautiful time. I thank you for this beautiful word, your double-edged sword that does not go back until it has achieved what it has been set out for Lord. I thank you, lord, that you have our names inscribed on the palms of your hand. I thank you, lord, of your hands. I thank you, lord, that your walls, our walls, are continually before you, lord. I thank you, lord, you know our deeds and though we have had little power and we have kept your word and not denied your name, you have set before us an open door, your word, and not denied your name. You have set before us an open door, lord, that no man can shut. Hallelujah.
Speaker 1:Thank you, lord, for your beautiful protection from Psalm 91. Thank you for your protection that's around us, and we don't have to fear the pestilence, nor the arrow, nor the snare of the fowler, lord, because you, the victorious one, go before us. You will fight all the battles for us. All we have to do is stay silent and watch your salvation on our behalf. Thank you for this beautiful time, thank you for this beautiful presence, thank you for filling some people's homes, thank you for answering people's prayers, thank you for letting people know that you are always with them, at their right hand, and you will never leave them nor forsake them. Thank you, lord, for your beautiful presence, thank you for your beautiful word and thank you most of all, lord, for what you did on that cross for us. You were beaten to death, and death on a cross just for us. Thank you, lord. In Jesus' name, I pray Amen.
