The Hidden Secret
The final piece of the spiritual armour we need is a hidden one— often overlooked or taken for granted.
This week, discover the last and most powerful spiritual weapon that equips you to face every battle and overcome any situation.
“Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving And pay your vows to the Most High; Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.”
- Psalms 50:14-15 NASB1995
I want to start and I'm very excited this morning because some of you are going to experience Jesus one-on-one. I'm telling it to you from the very beginning and we've been doing actually more than a series, you know, on being ready for the spiritual battles, and you heard the scripture that was, you know, read before from the book of Ephesians, about the spiritual battles that we face and the battles that are not against flesh and blood but instead of principalities, powers, authorities of the darkness. And different versions of the Bible can give you some even scarier descriptions. And we know, through the word of God, give you some even scarier descriptions. And we know, through the word of God already that over the past four weeks, that we need to put on the armor of God if we need to be ready for this battle, the spiritual battle. And we started with the word of God. And we started with the word of God Behold yourself with the truth, stand firm, put on your helmet and your breastplate of righteousness, shod your feet. Hallelujah, which is the word of God, the Bible. Then we heard about faith, putting on the shield of faith. The bible says it's the only thing. It's the only thing that will extinguish the flaming arrows of the wicked one. The only thing, hallelujah. And then there's prayer and supplication. Pray constantly with perseverance, thanksgiving, and let your requests be made known to God, hallelujah. And that's what we heard last week. And I want to tell you while we're on this topic, you know the bible talks about and I have not touched about it uh, touched up on this topic the last time when we were talking about prayer and supplication, because ephesians 6, 18 says prayer, sorry, praying, always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and, as I said, I didn't. I didn't speak about this last time, but, uh, I told you earlier it's a gift.
Speaker 1:I've said it before that it's a gift and I want to tell you that you only get gifts from people that you are close to. And you know the book of Acts in the Bible talks about the day of Pentecost, when you know God's apostles, jesus' apostles and his disciples are the only ones left and they're hiding because everyone's looking for them, because they already hung Jesus, and now they're looking for them, and they used to meet in this upper room. The Bible says, and the Bible says there's this one day when they are all in one accord hallelujah. And the spirit of God, the Bible says, came upon them. There's this one day when they are all in one accord Hallelujah. And the Spirit of God, the Bible says, came upon them. Divided tongues as a fire and they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance, hallelujah. It's in Acts 2.1.
Speaker 1:In case you don't want to take it from me, go and read it yourself in the Bible. But I want to show you this morning that it's a gift from God and I believe that as you get closer in accord with him, he will release this gift upon you, hallelujah. But it does not mean that you are anything less or anything more for that matter. You're still a child of the most high. All the blessings in the bible are aligned to you. If you've put your faith in jesus, let me tell you that. But, as I said, I can only tell you, and leave you with this, that it's a gift and, uh, you can't choose to get a gift. You can't go and ask someone for a gift. It's a gift, it's given, it'll be given in god's time. God's time is perfect, remember that. And it's his gift and he will give it to you. Hallelujah, get in accord with him and he will give you his gift. And for those of you who do not pray in the spirit, I'm sorry for those of you who do pray in the spirit. Pray as often as you can in the spirit. I think by now, from the book of Ephesians, you've understood that we are fighting a spiritual battle. And in this spiritual battle, when you pray in the spirit, I would like to look at it as you're praying in the language of God and you're praying and you're speaking the language of the Most High. You're speaking the light into the darkness is what I can leave you with. So pray as often as you can in the spirit.
Speaker 1:And today I want to talk about the last piece of armor that we have, the last piece to fight this battle. And I want to tell you I am going to give it to you the way it is in the word of God. I'm going to give it to you in a non-compromising fashion, uncompromising fashion, and it's giving to God. And I want to tell you this morning that you know this is the one thing that that evil one has tried his level best to keep away from us. This one thing and which is why it's very it's Bible is a love story between man and God. And I want to tell you that giving to God is a secret and through the word of God, today I am going to release it. And how you want to take it is up to you. But I want to tell you it's the final chapter. If you ask me, and through the word of God, I will show it to you. And I pray this morning that God opens your heart. I pray this beautiful day that he changes your heart, he opens your spiritual eyes, that you understand his word today, because giving to God is a secret weapon weapon. It's the highest form of faith and it has been hidden, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And I will start with one of the scriptures which most of you know, but it it has a very different, deep meaning if you read it in a different way and, as I said, I'm not going to change words. I'm going to read it for you the way it is. And I'm reading to you from the book of john, the third chapter, the 16th verse. John 3 16 says most of you know it by heart for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not perish and have eternal life. Amen, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And I want to tell you, some of you still use physical Bibles, some of you still use apps and no matter what version you go to, I want to tell you this, I'm reading it to you again God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. I want to tell you there's no version that changes this sentence, no version. And god so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish and have eternal life. God did not send his son. The Bible does not say he sent him to us. The Bible says he gave him to us. And I want to tell you he didn't send him down to take him back up. He could have. God has done way more flamboyant things in front of others just to show witness, but he didn't do that. He didn't send him down just to pull him back up. He didn't do that. He gave his son to us. The bible says and you can check it in any version you'd like, the words remain god so loved the world that he gave his son.
Speaker 1:I want to tell you this morning that God gave his son as a sacrifice. God gave his son as an offering to us, to mankind. He gave him as an offering. I can't imagine giving anything that I love as an offering to anyone, but he gave him as an offering and I want to tell you this that he the next line, says that whoever believes in him shall not perish and have eternal life. Hallelujah.
Speaker 1:Today I'm going to get maybe a little more deep, but, as I said, I already started with praying that I pray your heart changes this morning and your heart is open in your spirit being is aligned to the word of God. I want to tell you God made a covenant with mankind by sending his son down. God made a covenant with mankind by giving Jesus as an offering to us. It's a spiritual covenant with mankind. It's a blood covenant. The deepest form of covenant is a blood covenant. And I want to tell you this morning don't try to analyze it, don't try to make logic of it, because the bible even says that our wisdom is foolishness to god. So don't try to make logic of this. But I want to share something with you. And so don't try to make logic of this. But I want to share something with you and, believe me, it will blow your mind if you understand it in your spirit. It's a beautiful revelation and I will take this beautiful psalm and leave it with you this morning and you need to understand this in your spirit.
Speaker 1:And I'm reading directly from the word of God, from Psalm 50, 4 and 5. It starts with saying he summoned the heavens above and the earth to judge his people, and then the fifth verse goes on to say Psalm 50 I'm reading from 4th and 5th, and theth verse goes on to say gather my godly ones to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. Oh, hallelujah, the one who summons the heavens above the one where the earth is his footstool. He says this morning gather my godly ones to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice, oh, hallelujah, hallelujah. I started with john 3, 16, where god made a covenant with mankind through a sacrifice, through jesus, and this passage of scripture is allowing you and me to make a covenant with god through sacrifice, hallelujah. And I'll explain this to you because you'll think oh, wait, wait, wait.
Speaker 1:Sacrifice is a generic word. Sacrifice has a noun form. A noun form. It has a verb form. This is another form that's being used here Hallelujah. Gather his godly ones to him, the Bible says those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. And, as I said, just in case you thought it's another version, another verb form, no, it's not, because the very next line says, and I'm going to the eighth verse, which says I do not reprove you of your sacrifices and your burnt offerings are continually before me. Amen, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:It's clear he's talking about your offering. So, first off, I want to tell you that you can make a covenant with god by making an offering. And in case you didn't get it, go and read it again. It's in psalm 50, the fifth verse those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. And then you'll go on to say wait, this is not that sacrifice, this is another sacrifice. No, it's not.
Speaker 1:God, in the very same chapter, is saying to you and me I do not reprove you for your sacrifices. By the way, reprove means I don't reprimand you, I don't push back on your sacrifices. What he's trying to tell you and your burnt offerings are continually before me, which means he knows you when you make an offering to him because they're continually before him. Hey, this is the word of God, this is not me. Your offerings, your sacrifices are continually before him. He remembers your sacrifice, hallelujah. And then god goes on to say and as I said, I'm gonna, I'm gonna release this word of god the way it is. I'm not gonna add anything to it, I'm not gonna subtract anything from it.
Speaker 1:He goes on to say he has no need for anything that we have to offer. If you read further in this 50th Psalm, he goes on to say that he doesn't have any need for anything that we have to give him. Psalm 59 onwards goes on to say 9 to 11. I'm reading I shall take no young bull out of your house, nor male goats out of your folds, for every beast in the forest is mine. The cattle on a thousand hills, I know. Every bird in the mountains and everything that moves in the field is mine, hallelujah. And everything that moves in the field is mine, hallelujah. Everything on this planet is his. The beasts of the forest are his, the cattle on a thousand hills are his, every bird in the mountains are his. Everything that moves in the field is his.
Speaker 1:And then, if that was not clear enough, he goes on to say if I were hungry, would I? I would not tell you. If I am hungry, I will not tell you, for the world is mine and everything that it contains. Shall I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the the blood of male goats? Hallelujah, hallelujah. He doesn't need anything that we have to give him.
Speaker 1:There's another passage of scripture that says your righteousness like filthy rags. He doesn't need anything that we have to give him. But what he's trying to tell us, what God is trying to tell you and me today, is that he does not need what we have to give him. If he is hungry, he doesn't need us. He doesn't need us to give him something. He doesn't eat what we have to offer to him. He doesn't need our money. It is just his law, and I'm here just to share his law with you and and everyone who's listening. It is his law. He has allowed us, you and me, to make a covenant with him. Through sacrifice, hallelujah, through our offerings. He's allowing us to make a covenant with him. He has already made a covenant with us, but he's allowing us a chance to make a covenant with him.
Speaker 1:And what covenant? You will ask I'll come to it. I won't tell. You will ask, I'll come to it. I won't tell you just yet. I will come to it.
Speaker 1:But I want to bring to you examples from the Bible today and you answer yourself your own questions in your own head. I want to tell you, the first born on the planet, cain, and Abel, made an offering to God. I want to tell you Abram, before he became Abraham, after he was made millions of promises to God, millions, and I'm saying millions because he said the sand on the sea will be your descendants. Abram made offerings to God. Abraham, after he changed God, changed his name to Abraham. Abraham made offerings to God. Hey, let me tell you, one of them, in fact, was his only son. God told him take your son, abraham, take your son, the son you love, the son you love, your only son, who you got after 99 years. Take him and sacrifice him to me. And Abraham was willing to do it.
Speaker 1:Remember that story of Elijah. I love that story. I've shared it so many times with you, that story of Elijah when he calls down fire from heaven and it licks up the offering, and it licks up the altar and it burns everything. Just in case you didn't get it, elijah was making an offering to God. It was an offering that God came down for. It was at Mount Carmel. And let me tell you, after that offering, it changed the future of Israel because he was the only prophet left on the planet at that time.
Speaker 1:Joshua made an offering to God. You all know this story. Joshua made the sun stand still Hallelujah and just as an extra measure, he ensured the moon also doesn't move Hallelujah. Let me tell you. After that, joshua made an offering to God because God honored his words. The Bible says there never has been a day where God heard the voice of a man, where he asked him to hold the sun in its position and the moon in its position, hallelujah. But just let me. Let me tell you it's.
Speaker 1:It's after that that joshua took the whole of israel and he made a sacrifice, an offering to god david. David made multiple offerings to god. Let me tell you, you know, you know, in the Old Testament, the Bible talks about God making a promise to his people, israel, and telling them that my presence will be in this place. And that place used to be called the Ark of the Covenant. Some of you know it, some of you don't know it. It was God's promise to man that my presence will be in the Ark. And I won't tell you. The book of chronicles talks about a time when david is placing the ark of the covenant in its, in its designated place, and the bible says he made burnt offerings and peace offerings to god. Wait for it and hear this. The bible says hey, it's not me, it's in the book oficles. You can read it.
Speaker 1:It's 1 Chronicles 16. The Bible says that David distributed to every man and woman in the whole of Israel a loaf of bread, a portion of meat and a raisin cake. Hallelujah, what that is? The king feeding every person in the land Something you think David was a fool to make an offering to God. King feeding every person in the land something you think David was a fool to make an offering to God. There never has been peace in Israel. There never was peace before him. There has not been peace after him. There was peace in the time of his son too. That is the second time.
Speaker 1:I can't get into these stories because I don't have enough time. But there is a second time when David is taking the Ark of the Covenant from one place to another and something untoward happens and he leaves it in one of his cousins home and he gets to know that the cousin is getting blessed because the Ark of the Covenant is there and he tells his people let's go, let's get the Ark of the Covenant back home. And there is a time when he's taking the ark of the covenant from his cousin's home and he's bringing it back to jerusalem. And the bible says and you listen to this, it's in the bible that when he was bringing the ark back, david made an offering every six steps. He made an offering to god every six steps. The bible says he sacrificed an ox and a fatling every six steps.
Speaker 1:Hallelujah solomon, his son, made an offering to god when he became king. He was very young and he took over as king from his father, who was king david, and he had really large shoes to fill. And you know what he did. The bible says he went to this place which, by the way, was designated by david, and he made 1000 burnt offerings. The bible says in chronicles. And the bible says god came to him and said ask what I shall give you.
Speaker 1:Hallelujah, solomon is a young man and he's taking over his land, his father's land, and he has really big shoes to fill. And he goes on to say I'm sorry. He goes on to make 1000 burnt. He knew something right. He makes 1000 burnt offerings to God at the designated temple. And God comes to him and says what shall I give you?
Speaker 1:Hallelujah, wait, there's another time, when the temple it's a different temple. He built another temple of gold, by the way. The Bible says he takes 22,000 oxen and he takes 120,000 sheep. And this time God comes to him and he says I have heard your prayer, oh, hallelujah. Do I need to say anything more to you this morning? Really, do I need to share anything more with you? I can give you one. I can give you thousands of examples, I just don't have the time right now. What shall I do for you?
Speaker 1:Never, once has the Bible mentioned that God came to someone and said what shall I do for you when they were praying. The Bible does mentioned that God came to someone and said what shall I do for you when they were praying. The Bible does say that God said what shall I do for you? And somebody gave him an offering. That's for you to decipher, not for me.
Speaker 1:And I'm coming back to Psalm 50. Remember, I told you about this covenant and I'm going to give you a secret Hallelujah, psalm 50, 14 and 15. It says offer to God. Now, if you did not get it through all these examples here it is Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High and call upon me in the day of trouble and I shall rescue you and you will honor me. Amen, amen, hallelujah. So in case you thought that this is not an important armor, you know what it's one of the most important ones and which is why it's been hidden from mankind. Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High. Do you know? All these examples I shared with you have been offerings of thanksgiving. Hallelujah, solomon, your vows to the most high. Do you know? All these examples I shared with you have been offerings of thanksgiving. Hallelujah, solomon gave an offering to God because God gave him peace. God gave him wisdom that no man ever had.
Speaker 1:David was always thanking God for he was just thanking God because he was a shepherd, I guess and he became the king of Israel. All he was doing was thanking God. There's a time when the Ark of the Covenant is coming to Jerusalem. The Bible says he's dancing in an undignified manner, by the way, after making sacrifices every six steps. He's dancing and his wife looks at him and says you're the king, what's wrong with you, and he says I'll dance even more undignified. Hallelujah Joshua made you and he says I'll dance even more undignified. Hallelujah joshua made a sacrifice at mount abel. Why? Because god heard him. He made the sun stand still for him. Elijah made an offering to thank god that he was alive. The only prophet who was alive. Abraham made a thanksgiving offering that he got a son. It was accounted to him as righteousness because he believed God. Oh, thanksgiving, an offering of thanksgiving.
Speaker 1:Pay your vows to the most high, beautiful people of the most high. Whether you want to believe it or not, this is the word of God. This is not me, and I want to tell you this morning if you can take the blessings from the Bible and say yea and amen to it. You take this word too and say yeah and amen to it. You take this word too, and say yeah and amen to it, because it's the word of God. It's not mine, and the Bible says you pay your vows to the Most High. You pay your vows to me. I don't need it. He's already told you in the same chapter. I don't need what you have to give me, but you pay it to me and then you call upon me. You call upon me in the day of trouble. He didn't say I might rescue you. I shall rescue you.
Speaker 1:The Bible says the darkness does not comprehend the light. And I want to tell you this is when you make a sacrifice and it's a spiritual thing you open the door and the light comes into your life, hallelujah. And the darkness can't comprehend it. Because then, when you call unto me in the day of trouble, you're calling unto the light at the time when the darkness is creeping in. That's what it is. Call unto me in the day of trouble, that's when the darkness has come a little too close to you. Now you call unto the light and that's why, because of your offering, the darkness cannot hold you. Oh, hallelujah, I shall rescue you and you will honor me, which means you'll give thanks again.
Speaker 1:Hallelujah, I'd like to pray, dear lord, I thank you for your me, which means you'll give thanks again. Hallelujah, I'd like to pray to you. Lord, I thank you for your beautiful word. I thank you for your presence, lord. I thank you, lord, that you have opened people's hearts. I thank you, lord, that your word says that it does not come back until it has achieved what it has been set out for Lord.
Speaker 1:I thank you, lord, for this beautiful, beautiful presence that people can feel. I thank you, lord, that you are walking amongst your people. I thank you, lord, that you have changed their hearts. I thank you, as your, that you've changed their hearts. I thank you, as your word says, that when they give, you now have the offerings continually before you. Oh, lord, oh, thank you, jesus, and as they give, they will call upon you and you will answer and you will rescue and they will know and they will honor you, your people. Thank you, lord, that you've given us a chance to make a covenant with you. Thank you for your beautiful, beautiful wisdom and understanding that you're filling people with. Thank you for this beautiful time. I want to tell you, some of you, god has been waiting for you to do something, and I want to tell you that God is looking at your situation right now and he's changing it. Nevertheless, you don't even need to do anything. Hallelujah, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:The Bible describes Jesus victorious, one, a beautiful man, in the book of revelations, and I want to tell you one of you, some of you are experiencing Jesus in that form Bronze feet, air is white as wool. It's white as snow Signing, girded around the chest with a sash Double-edged sword coming out of his mouth Hallelujah, hallelujah. Thank you, lord, for your beautiful presence. Thank you for your word, thank you for your love, thank you for your protection, thank you for always being with us. Your Thanksgiving in our hearts. We come to you, lord. Thank you, jesus name. I pray amen.
