- Psalms 139:1,2 NASB1995
today I have a beautiful word to share with you and I'm excited about it. And I want to start directly with telling you that you know the bible. I've said it before, I'll say it again the Bible is a love story towards mankind. It's a love story and there are many books and passages, scriptures, that make that and show it very clearly, and today I will get into some of them, a few of them, because we have limited time. But I want to tell you, and I want to reassure you this morning, the way God looks at you. First of all, I want to tell you and some of us need to hear it constantly, some of you need to hear it today that Jesus loves you. God loves you and have no doubt about it. And I will start with Jesus this morning.
Speaker 1:And I want to tell you there are a number of times in the Bible where it mentions the word compassion, jesus having compassion on people. Compassion is a deep word and I just want to tell you that of who else to be associated that word with aside to Jesus? And I want to tell you, coming back to it, the Bible mentions multiple times the word compassion with Jesus and I want to tell you. He was constantly going through cities and villages spreading the good news of the kingdom of God and healing people from all kinds of sicknesses. The Bible says I want to tell you that Jesus was on this planet many years ago. There might have been diseases which didn't even have names to them, and the Bible says Jesus healed them all. Oh, hallelujah. So you can only imagine the way the crowds must have been flocking to him. Of course people would have come just seeking his hand and his healing. But but that's fine, because Jesus had compassion and that's why he would heal them, hallelujah. There's a time in the Bible and the Bible says I told you already that the Bible very clearly uses the word compassion. The Bible says he feels compassion on the people because they're distressed and dispirited, like sheep without a shepherd. Can you imagine, not even knowing someone and just being at that place and feeling bad about the fact that they are distressed and dispirited, like sheep without a shepherd, the good shepherd having compassion? There is another time when Jesus has a crowd following him I think some of you know the story the feeding of the 5000 and the Bible says he has compassion on them and he looks to his disciples and says what do we have? And they have 5 loaves and 2 fish. And he takes it, he multiplies it and he feeds the people, just because he has compassion. And he takes it, he multiplies it and he feeds the people, just because he has compassion.
Speaker 1:There's a time when Jesus is in Galilee and a leper comes to him. Let me just tell you something about this time when leprosy was on this planet. Leprosy is not there anymore. It's one of those things that have been removed through medication and medicine or whatever you want to call it. But there was a time when leprosy was a big disease and I want to tell you that the people who had leprosy would be asked to stay outside the city and they would stay in small camps together, because they all had leprosy and that's where they would be, and the people of the city, if they wanted to give them food or clothes, would go out, keep it at a particular point and leave, and the lepers would then go there and pick it up. It must have been highly I don't know contagious, I guess Actually it is Was Used to be. And there's a time when Jesus is in Galilee and a leper comes to him and falls on his knees before him, saying, if you are willing, if you are willing, make me clean. And the Bible says Jesus was moved with compassion. And listen to this. He stretched out his hands and touched him and says I am willing. And the Bible says, immediately the leprosy left him, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:There's a time when Jesus is leaving Jericho and the Bible says two blind men loudly call out to Jesus to heal them. Some of you know the story of blind Bartimaeus. Those of you who don't. It's a similar story. And Jesus is leaving jericho, the bible says and there are these two blind people who are sitting at the, who are sitting outside the city, and they call out loudly to jesus and the crowds are trying to stop them and they're calling out even louder. And yet again, the bible says jesus is moved with compassion and he goes to them and he heals them both.
Speaker 1:There's another time when jesus is in a city called nain and he's, he's, he's entering the city, he's approaching the city gates and there's this the bible says very clearly there's a dead man being carried out and the bible very clearly says it's the only son of his mother, who is already a widow, and the mother is weeping next to this dead body and jesus felt compassion. The bible says for her and he says to her do not weep. And he's saying to somebody today do not weep. And he's saying to somebody today do not weep. And the Bible says Jesus went up and touched the coffin and the bearers came to a halt and he said young man, I say to you, arise. And the dead man sat up and began to speak and Jesus gave him back to his mother. Hallelujah, wow, just compassion For people who he didn't know. Of course he knew them, but technically he didn't know them. Hallelujah.
Speaker 1:Jesus would also speak parables and stories, and so many times when he's speaking to his disciples, he's talking about love and compassion. Love your neighbor, neighbor as yourself. The prodigal son coming back after leaving his father's home and taking half his wealth. And he comes back and the father runs towards him and kisses him. It's love and compassion. The good samaritan when you see someone who's on the road and you don't know them, be the Good Samaritan, have compassion on them, walk in love. All these are stories and parables, leading, of course, to a blessing and also the way of life, the way Jesus wanted us to live on this planet.
Speaker 1:So I want to tell you this morning that Jesus has compassion on you. I want to start with thatesus has compassion on you. I want to start with that. He has compassion on you no matter what. He has compassion on your situations. He has compassion on what you're going through and you know what? Don't just take my word for it. I will show to you today through the word of god.
Speaker 1:And before I get into it, I want to tell you that the shortest verse in the Bible says Jesus wept. It's in the book of John. The Bible says Jesus wept and Jesus had a friend when he was on this planet. His name was Lazarus and he gets to know about Lazarus's death and he weeps. The Bible says I want to tell you, weeping is a deep emotion and if Jesus wept for a friend, how much do you think he would weep and feel for you, his children, his chosen ones, the sheep for which the shepherd came on this planet? For Hallelujah and I'll start with somebody. I'll start with one of these scriptures and somebody needs to know it this morning. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands. Hallelujah, hallelujah. He has inscribed you on the palms of his hands. Let me tell you what the dictionary calls it a permanent record. It's the definition of inscribed in the English dictionary a permanent record. Hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And today I'm going to take you to this beautiful Psalm. The Psalm, I've known it before, but I've come to know it at such a deep level now. And it's a beautiful Psalm of David, and I just want to show you a different side of your father. We all have earthly fathers and this is a spiritual father, and I want to show you a different side of him. This is a spiritual father and I want to show you a different side of him. And I want to tell you this morning don't put logic to this beautiful Psalm, just accept it. And it's so deep, the Psalm is so deep and it's so real to me this beautiful day, and I'm here to share it with you. And if you accept it the way it is, it will change your life completely. And I'm going straight into it. It's from Psalm 139.
Speaker 1:In the first and second verse, psalm 139, o Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit and when I rise up. You understand my thought from afar. Hallelujah, o Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know where I sit and when I rise up. You understand my thought from afar, hallelujah. It starts with telling you that jesus knows you, he knows your whereabouts, he knows where you sit down, he knows when you rise up, he knows your timetable. He knows your timetable. He knows your schedule, hallelujah. He knows your thoughts from afar, beautiful, hallelujah. You scrutinize my path and my lying down and you are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Beautiful, and you are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Beautiful. Scrutinize your path means he is watching where you tread, he's watching where you go. He makes known your ways. Don't think by any chance where you are today is a place that he doesn't know. Don't think that even once. He knows where you are, whatever point of life you are in. He knows where you are. He has made an effort. He has made an effort to know your whereabouts and your things, your doings.
Speaker 1:Hallelujah, even before there is a word on my tongue behold, o Lord, you know it all. You have enclosed me behind and before and laid your hand upon me. Amen, hallelujah. It's like the second verse. It says you understand my thought from afar, even before there's a word on my tongue. Hallelujah, he knows your thoughts. You don't need to put it into words. Of course, the bible says you need to pray. It's just one of those things. But he knows your thoughts even before there's a word that comes out of your mouth. He knows it, hallelujah. And I want to tell you that it says you have enclosed me behind and before, which means he has put a hedge of protection around you, before you and behind you. Everywhere you go, all around you, his hand is upon you.
Speaker 1:Amen, 139, 6 says such knowledge is too wonderful for me, oh lord. It is too high, I cannot attain it. Hallelujah. This knowledge is the wisdom of the most high. It is a fact which david understood when he wrote this beautiful psalm. King David, that is. It's a fact and it's what I have been here to. It's what I have been sent here to share with you. So don't, as I said before I started, don't make sense of it. Just absorb it, believe it and enjoy it. This knowledge is too wonderful for me, oh lord. It is too high, I cannot attain it. This knowledge is too wonderful for me, o Lord. It is too high, I cannot attain it. Hallelujah.
Speaker 1:On the seventh verse onwards, I'm going to read it to you and you will understand it. Where can I go from your spirit, o Lord, or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there, your hand will lead me, your right hand will lay hold of me. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, beautiful, where will you go? He is always with you. Is what this passage of scripture is saying amen, yes, you.
Speaker 1:You, you have doubts. You think you think you've been left in this place where you are right now and you think God is not with you. You're wrong. He is with you. No matter where you go, he is always with you. And I still want to tell you that you would have deviated from the path like the prodigal son, but he still leads you. And I still want to tell you that you would have deviated from the path like the prodigal son, but he still leads you. He will still put his head of protection around you, front and back, wherever you stand.
Speaker 1:Hallelujah, and listen to this, the 13th verse, for you have formed my inward paths. Hallelujah, you wove me in my mother's womb, oh, hallelujah. In case you didn't know, I want to tell you he has formed you, he has made you from your mother's womb. He has woven you. Hallelujah, and you'll say, no, I didn't know him till I was the age of 40. Yes, well, he had woven you to the plan. When you become 40, you'll say, no, I didn't know him till I was the age of 40. Yes, well, he had woven you to the plan. When you become 40, you'll get to know him.
Speaker 1:Hallelujah, and he has formed your inward paths. Do you know what's the meaning of inward paths? He has made everything that is part of you, your internal organs. He knows them. Hallelujah, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:Psalm 139, 14, says I will give thanks to you, and this is for many of you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, oh, father, and my soul knows it very well. Hallelujah, I want to tell you this beautiful day, this beautiful morning, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank you, jesus. And he has taken time to make you. Fearfully means the way I see. Fearfully is somebody's hands shaking while they're making you.
Speaker 1:And I want to tell you this, and and this is for most of us, because we've always some of us, at some point of time, felt this, and the people you know on this earth might have disowned you and left you. Your spouses, maybe your kids, your colleagues, your siblings, your most precious friend, might have called you out as flawed and might have said you're not good enough and I don't like this about you or I don't like that about you. Some of them might have even left you Because of that, deleted you from their life. But I want to tell you this morning the master of heaven and earth, the creator, has sent me to tell you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Most High. You are perfect in his eyes, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And if you think that's not enough, listen to the next one. The 15 and 16 says my frame was not hidden from you when I was made in secret and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Your eyes have seen my unformed substance, oh, hallelujah. And in your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when, as yet, there was not even one of them. Did you even get this passage of scripture, hallelujah? I'm reading it again. You need to understand this my frame was not hidden from you when I was made in secret and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Your eyes have seen my unformed substance and in your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when, as yet, there was not even one of them. Hallelujah, I want to tell you this morning, in case you didn't understand, this passage of scripture he has made you in a specific way. When you stand in front of the mirror, the next time you look at the mirror and you say wow, because that's how he sees you. He has shaped you and molded you the way he wanted to. He has handpicked your raw material. So for that thing that somebody has left you for, he has put that trait in there, hallelujah, and this is beautiful. He's marked your days on this planet in his book, even before you came here.
Speaker 1:Oh hallelujah, hallelujah. How precious the 17th and 18th verse. How precious also are your thoughts to me. Oh, beautiful creator, my father, my lord. How vast is the sum of them? If I had to count them, they would outnumber the sand. Hallelujah, when I awake, they would outnumber the sand. Hallelujah, when I awake, I am still with you. Oh, hallelujah, how precious also are your thoughts to me. Oh, hallelujah. I wish I had more time today and I just don't. How precious are your thoughts to me, beautiful father. How precious are your thoughts to me, how vast is the sum of them? Let me just tell you this morning, if you think you've been abandoned and you've been left alone, the thoughts that he has, that he has towards you. If you had to count them this is the word of God, people they would outnumber the sand. Wait, it would not outnumber the sand on one beach, it would outnumber the sand on the planet. Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And I want to share this beautiful story with you. There's a story that I've heard. It's a beautiful one. I have to share it with you.
Speaker 1:There's this person who has a deep relationship with God and he talks to God every day and he takes a walk on the beach. He stays next to a beach and he walks on the beach every day and there are two set of footprints and he notices, at the lowest times in life, there's only one set of footprints on the beach. There's only one set of footprints on the beach. So in his time with the father, one day he asked him Lord, you're always with me and I always have a relationship with you, and I've just noticed that every time I'm at the lowest points in life, when I walk on the beach, I only see one set of footprints. Why is that, o Lord? Why do you leave me when I am at my lowest?
Speaker 1:And this is what Jesus said to him.
Speaker 1:This is what he is saying to you. It's what I have been here, it's what I have been put here to share. So, my son, my daughter, my beautiful creation, the one who I fearfully and wonderfully made, those are the times when I have carried you. The feet that you see on the beach are mine, not yours. Hallelujah, his word says he will never leave you nor forsake you. He will never leave you nor forsake you, and you should understand that this beautiful morning align to His word from Psalm 139. Read it in your own time and meditate on it. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are his creation. He loves you, no matter what the world will say about you. He has made you, he has put your ingredients together. He has formed every characteristic of you. Every part of your body is his. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in his sight.
Speaker 1:Hallelujah, I'd like to pray. Dear Lord, I thank you for this beautiful time. I thank you for this beautiful day. I thank you for this day that you have made, and we will rejoice and be glad in it. I thank you, lord. At our times which are most difficult, lord, you have put a hedge of protection around us, front and behind, and you lead us, lord.
Speaker 1:Lord, where will we go from your presence? Where shall we hide from your beautiful face? No matter where we turn, you are always with us. No matter at what point we are, you are always at our right hand. Thank you for your beautiful presence that some people can feel so strongly. Lord, thank you for this day that you have made us. Woven us from our mother's womb, put our parts together, known us intimately and known our parts intimately, numbered the days that we have on this planet. And I thank you, lord, for your word that says you know the plans you have for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, lord, plans with a hope and a future. Hallelujah, thank you for your beautiful presence. Lord, holy, holy, holy, lord, god Almighty, who was and is and is to come. Hallelujah. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.
