Helper, Forever
One of God’s most comforting promises revealed through knowing Jesus, is that you are never alone. You don’t have to live as though you are.
This promise is given to all who believe that Jesus is the risen Son of God.
Today’s episode is for you, to know and understand, that you have power with you at All times in this life on this planet.
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;”
- John 14:16 NASB1995
This beautiful day, I want to start and share something with you. Which is beautiful, and it's actually one of the best things that I can ever share with you. And maybe some of us over time have just forgotten about it. And maybe some of you don't even know it. Or you've lost track of it. And I'll leave that for now and get straight into the Bible. To a time when Jesus was on this planet, and I want to tell you that Jesus worked in science, miracles, wonders, and he was spreading the good news of the kingdom of God. He was healing people, and he was spending time with his disciples teaching them. And then there's this time where he slowly starts beginning to hint that he's not going to be around always. And most of the times the disciples either just cut the topic or half the time they can't understand what he's trying to say. And there are times, as I said, you know, when Jesus spoke in parables and he would explain the parables, and there are times when Jesus spoke very straight, very clear to the crowd openly, and to his disciples. And there's this one time when Jesus is speaking with his disciples on deeper topics. And I want to tell you this is actually after the Last Supper. And in some of them, denial too. When he tells them that he's about to go away. But I won't get into those discussions. But when all of this is happening, Jesus calmly reassures his disciples that they will be fine. Hallelujah. And you can only imagine that his disciples have been with him, they know he's the Son of God, they've changed their lives, they've left their livelihoods behind, and they're following him, and they're seeing him perform signs, miracles, and wonders, raising the dead, even. And now suddenly he's telling them that he's about to go. And I'm going directly to the book, Word of God from the book of John, the 14th chapter, the 16th verse onwards. John the 14th verse, 14th chapter, the 16th verse. And I told you, he calmly reassures them, and this is what he says I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper, that he may be with you forever. Hallelujah. That is a spirit of truth. Another helper who will be with you forever. Amen. Forever. And the 17th verse goes on to say that there is a spirit of truth, whom the word, the world, cannot receive because it does not see him or it does not know him. But you will know him because he abides with you and will be in you. Oh hallelujah. What a beautiful passage of scripture. I want to tell you the Bible is the best book on the planet because it is not minced a word. No one comma, no one full stop is out of place. And especially the words of Jesus. And he's telling you and me this morning that he's sending a helper. And who is the helper? It's the spirit of truth who the world cannot receive because the world does not see him and the world does not know him. But you know him because he abides with you and will be in you. Hallelujah. Amen. And you'll say, no, this was for his disciples, right? Yeah, well, I'm gonna put it this way that yes, it was for his disciples, and it is what it is for anyone who believes in Jesus. It's a hard truth, but it is the truth. It is for anyone who believes in Jesus, anyone who believes he's the Son of God, anyone who believes he died, and on the third day he rose from the grave. Anyone who believes he is alive today and seated at the right hand of God, if you believe that, you have a helper forever. Hallelujah. And who is the helper? The spirit of truth. And why did the world not receive him? Because they don't see him and they cannot understand who he is. And who is he? He is the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. But you will know him, Jesus says. You will know him. If you believe in me, that's my addition. You will know him because he abides with you, he lives with you. Hallelujah. Jesus said in the 17th verse, uh, 16th verse at the end, he will be with you forever. Oh hallelujah. And then in the 18th verse, he says, I'll not leave you as orphans, I will come to you. Amen. Hallelujah. For those of you who didn't get it, Jesus says here he will come to you. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Mark the script passage of scripture down. John the 14th chapter, 16, 17, and 18th verse. Mark it down. Don't ever forget it. It's very easy to forget it. You know, Jesus spoke about this the parable where the seed falls on good soil, the seed falls on ground, the seed falls on rocks. The seed is the word, is his word. And the problems of life can make you lose focus very easily. But daily life can make you forget these beautiful things that come to you free of cost from the Most High. Hallelujah. Mark it down, read it, meditate on it in your time. And I want to tell you that, you know, after this, Jesus was crucified, and I'm not going to speak about that today. And the Bible says he was taken up on a cloud from in front of his disciples from a mount, the way he asked them to come after he was raised from the dead. And they go back and they're left alone now, without a master, without a teacher, without a shepherd. And by the way, being hunted by everyone around them. Hunted. Must have been a scary time. Because they saw what the people that Jesus healed, they saw what they did to Jesus. They took him and they hung him on a cross. And it's a scary thing. And even though Peter said, Lord, I will never deny you, Jesus tells him, You will deny me three times before the rooster crows. And he denied him three times. It's fear, it's it's human. And they're all scared and they're they're hiding. And the Bible even says that they meet in an upper room of a house to pray together. It must have been a scary time. Abandoned all alone, hiding. Maybe some of you feel like that today. But I have good news for you today. And before anything, I want to tell you Jesus cannot deny himself. His word is his word. And as Jesus promised his disciples, the helper comes. Hallelujah. And the Bible says that it's in the book of Acts, in case you want to know it's the second chapter, the first verse onwards, and it's called the Day of Pentecost. The Bible accounts for it in the book of Acts. And I want to tell you that they were hiding, they used to sit and meet together and pray, and the Bible says they were about 120 in number. And when the disciples were in one place and one accord, the Bible says, the Spirit of God came upon them, divided tongues as of fire, and they began to speak in other tongues as the spirit gave utterance. The Bible says, hallelujah. And by the way, Peter immediately stood up amongst the crowd and began to speak loudly to the crowds about the kingdom of God and began to release and quote scriptures which didn't happen before. Hallelujah. So Jesus promised something, and as his word, he always delivers. And believe it, that you are not alone. Believe it, you are not alone. If Jesus is telling you that he has sent a helper who will be with you forever, what does that mean? You think Jesus didn't know what he was saying? You are not alone. And as aligned with Jesus' words, you have another helper sent from your Father in heaven on behalf of Jesus' requests, only and only for you. Hallelujah. And some of you don't even know what you carry with you, some of you don't even understand this. And I'm gonna reiterate it to you, I'm gonna show it to you through the word of God, just in case you're not sure. You have the spirit of God with you at all times. You have the spirit of creation in you, the Bible says. And then God said, Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from. It encompasses everything possible on this planet. You will not even fathom or understand certain things that have happened in the spiritual world and in the heavens and even on this earth, because of what Jesus has done on that cross. Which is why the Bible says that his name, every knee will bow on the earth, above the earth, and below the earth. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Second Timothy 1:7. In case you didn't know what kind of spirit you have, for God has not given you a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. Amen. This is for someone in particular, you're not sure about the decision you need to make. Don't be timid about it. Because the spirit that you have is that which is not of timidity, but instead of power, of love and discipline. Hallelujah. What a beautiful passage of scripture. Make note in case you ever see yourself not living by these principles, understand that that's the spirit that you have in you. You need to change the way you're looking at things. You do not have the spirit of timidity, you instead have a spirit of power and love and discipline. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And I want to give you this last passage of scripture this beautiful morning, Acts 1.8. Acts 1.8 says, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be my witness both in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, and even the remotest part of the earth. Oh hallelujah. Hallelujah. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my witness in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and even the remotest part of the earth. It's his word. Hallelujah. I want to reassure you this morning that you are not alone. When Jesus left his disciples, he knew what he was doing. Of course, he knew what he was doing. He knew before he even came on this planet what he had to do. And when he was going, he told them, Don't worry, don't worry. I will talk to my father, I will ask of my father, and he will send me. He didn't say I he might, depending on his schedule, he doesn't say that. He says, I will ask of my father and he will send you a helper. Hallelujah. And just in case you didn't get it, that helper, according to the words of Jesus, will be with you forever. Hallelujah. Forever. Hallelujah. Right now. Hallelujah. At your right hand. As by the words of Jesus, He's with you always. You have power with you. Don't don't by any chance be at any place where you are undermining the power that you have with you. Because the Holy Spirit, the same spirit that was there with God during creation is the same spirit who's with you this morning. You know why Jesus said, I'll never leave you nor forsake you? Because He lives in you. You have wisdom. You have knowledge at all times. The same spirit that was on this planet during creation is the same spirit who lives in you. Wisdom and knowledge, which is not worldly wisdom and knowledge, wisdom and knowledge of creation is in you. And last but not the least, you have the spirit of power with you. You have the spirit of power, the same power that was exerted when he raised Jesus from the dead is in you, and I cannot explain this more to you, Amen. You need to understand that you can speak the word into a situation that will come to life. That's the beauty of what Jesus has done on the cross. It just everything in the Bible is just one piece into the other, like a beautiful, beautiful love story for us. That he may be with you forever. And that is the spirit of truth. The world cannot receive because they do not see him and they do not know him. But you know him. Because he abides with you, and he will be in you. I will not leave you as offerings, Jesus said. I will come to you. Amen. Let's all pray. General, I thank you, Lord, for this beautiful word. I thank you, Lord, for this double-edged sword. I thank you for your promise. I thank you for your sacrifice. And most of all, Lord, I thank you for the helper who's always with us. Beautiful, beautiful spirit that's with us at all times, Lord. At our right hand. I thank you, Lord, that you will never leave us nor forsake us. I thank you. For the power that is vested in us. I thank you, Lord, that we you have given us the right to call you our Father. Through your beautiful spirit. I thank you, Lord, for your spirit that's not of timidity that's upon us. A spirit of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that will rest upon our shoulders each day of life. Thank you, Lord, that we don't need to look left nor right and fear anything, Lord, because we do not have a spirit of timidity. I thank you for this beautiful day. I thank you for your beautiful, beautiful presence that people can feel. That you are with them always. And that you will never leave them. And some of you, for some of you, today, he is going to come to you. Align with his word that he released. He's watching over his word to perform it, and he's going to come to you. Hallelujah. Enjoy his beautiful presence. The Bible says, Behold, stand at the door and knock. You will need to open that door. Oh, hallelujah. Beautiful. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful presence. Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful time. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
