“In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, And my cry for help before Him came into His ears.”

SPEAKER_00:

I mean about a month ago, I shared a beautiful passage, a parallel parable spoken by Jesus when he was with his disciples about a wise man who built his house upon the rock and a foolish man who built it on the sand. And how the wise man will hold fast against the storm, the storms of life, and stand firm because he has put his trust in the Lord. Hallelujah. And the foolish man's house, of course, was destroyed because it was not built on the foundation, which is God. And aligned to the word of God, those who build their house upon the rock, which is Jesus, the Bible says they will be like a tree planted on the water, hallelujah, whose roots extend by the stream and will not fear when the heat comes. Those whose leaves will remain green and will not be anxious when rot comes and will bear fruit always. Hallelujah. What a beautiful passage of scripture. What a beautiful parable from Jesus to explain the foundation which is Him. And Jeremiah 17, 7 says, Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. Amen. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. There are so many passages of scripture aligned to this. Cursed is the man who puts their trust in man. But I won't get into that today. And today I will show you from the word of God that how beautiful it is for those who put their trust in the Lord. And I will say this that during our time on this planet, the Bible even calls out in fact, even Jesus spoke through his parable, he said, when the droughts come, when the drought comes, don't be anxious, which means the drought might come for some of you in your lives. And Jesus knows it, which is why he's there to reassure you, saying that when it comes, in case it comes, some of you it might come, some of you it might not. Don't be anxious, you will still bear fruit. When storms of life come, don't worry, I'm with you. So our time on this planet, you know, there are times which are happy, and times when there is doubt, times of low, times of high, testing times. But I want to reassure you this morning that He is in control. He is in control, and you should know that. Psalm 46 1 says, God is our refuge and strength, a very pleasant help in trouble. Hallelujah. Amen. God is our refuge and our strength. A very present help in trouble. A very present help in trouble, which means he's there at the time of trouble. I want to tell you the creator of heaven and earth is our he's our strength. He's our shelter. The word refuge means shelter from danger, shelter from anything that's happening around you. That's what the word refuge means. And I want to tell you this morning that God is your shelter, He's your refuge. He's a very present help. And that's the that's the line I want to highlight in the scripture this morning, a very present help in trouble. Hallelujah. The thing is, in our life, we don't see his presence because we are human. We are not uh we are not spiritual beings. We have the spirit of God in us, but we live a life on this planet. We are born in flesh and blood, and that's why sometimes you can't see his presence. But that's what this passage of scripture calls out, Psalm 46.1 says, a very present help in trouble. Hallelujah. And then there's Jeremiah 33, 3, which says call unto me, and I will answer you. And show you and tell you great and mighty things which you do not know. Amen. Hallelujah. Call to me and I will answer you. And tell you great and mighty things which you do not know. I want to tell you this morning that our life, as I said, on this planet will have its own times. And you know, most of us being in this day and age have seen movies and mini-series and Netflix and chill, as this as the slogan goes. But I want to tell you, whenever you watch a fabulous movie or a wonderful mini-series that gets you gripped, you should know that there's there are many things that go into it. There's a director, there's a producer, there's a script, there's a background score, there's a cinematographer, there's editing, there's sound, there's visual effects. Hallelujah. There's so many things that go into that movie or that mini-series, and what you and I see is just the finished product, which keeps it, which keeps us glued to our seat. And today I want to tell you the author and the perfecter of our faith is the one who plays all these roles together in our story, which is called life on this planet. Hallelujah. And today I want to give you a glimpse of what happens in the spiritual that you cannot see. What happens with this ever-present help which you cannot see. What happens when you and I encounter something? And you know it's not necessarily that some of you are going through something today, maybe you're not going through anything today, and that's perfectly fine. Praise God for that. This is the day He has made you rejoice and be glad in it. But there are times when some of us go through certain things and small little challenges, because I've said it before and I'll say it again. We know that we don't fight against flesh and blood. In fact, we fight against powers and principalities and dominions of darkness. And today I want to give you a glimpse of what actually happens in the spirituals when things are needed that you and I probably cannot see. When we need help on things you cannot see. And today I want to go straight into the word of God from a scripture written by King David, and I want to tell you that King David knew knew God at a very deep level. He uh he had he had difficult times in his life, he had he had trials. There are times when he was he was being sought after. His life was being sought after by the king who wanted to kill him at the time. So he's a man who's acquainted with difficult times. Of course, he was a king of Israel after that, but he has seen difficult times. And if you ever want to know about it, you can read his life in the Bible. But I want to tell you, he's somebody who never lost focus of God. He never lost his eyesight. And if you read some of the beautiful psalms that he's written, you will know that he never lost focus. And he knew what God does for him. Hallelujah. And today I'm going to share with you one of his beautiful psalms that he has written to give you a glimpse of what happens and the background, the cinematography, the script. The direction and the produ the production, which you and I don't get to see, the ever-present help. Because it happens in the spirituals, and I'm reading to you directly from the word of God, from the book of Psalms, the 18th chapter. And I want to tell you before I get into this passage of scripture this morning, there are parts of it that I've left out, but you should read Psalm 18 to understand what happens in the backgrounds. If you are ever, if you as an individual ever come up against something and what God does in the background. Hallelujah. As I said this morning, you might not be having enemies, but we always are at some point of time being faced by something which we probably don't even understand at times because we live each day on this planet, but we are fighting a spiritual battle. And the next verse goes on to say, the cords of death encompassed me and torrents of ungodliness terrified me. See, I told you, you might not be in a situation that feels like the walls are closing in. And praise God for that. You might even be in a situation this morning which is nothing like this. So praise God for that. But I want to tell you that sometimes some of us are where you feel there's no way out. Maybe you're in a tough situation, maybe everything around you is crumbling, maybe an overwhelming situation of ungodliness, as the scripture says. Might I remind you again, we don't battle with flesh and blood, we battle instead with powers and principalities and rulers of the darkness, the Bible says. And whatever it might be today, I want to tell you, if you're in that position, this word is absolutely for you. And I'm going straight to the sixth verse, which says, In my distress I called upon the Lord and cried to my God for help. He heard my voice, hallelujah. And out of his temple, and my cry for help before him came to his ears. Oh, hallelujah! Hallelujah. As I said, I started with telling you you might not be in a position where you have your back against the wall. But I want to tell you through this passage of scripture this morning that when you call upon the Lord, he hears your voice, your call will go on to his ears. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. In my distress, I called upon the Lord and cried to my God for help, and he heard my voice from his temple, and my cry for help before him came to his ears. Hallelujah. He hears your voice. I want to reassure you that this morning through the word of God. And then let me tell you what happens. Hallelujah. The earth shook and it quaked, and the foundations of the mountains were trembled, were trembling and were shaken because he was angry. Oh hallelujah. Hallelujah. The earth shook and it quaked, and the foundations of the mountains were trembling and were shaken because he was angry. And then listen, the smoke went out of his nostrils, and fire from his mouth devoured. Coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens and came down with thick darkness under his feet. He rode upon a cherub and flew, and he sped upon the wings of the wind. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You think he wouldn't? You think he wouldn't. Or probably you've thought that in the past. Will he do this for me? I want to tell you something this beautiful morning. You are his child. You have been purchased by the blood of his son. And you are his child. And some of you may be hearing this morning are parents, and you know what it's like to have a child. And I have a son, so I know it. And I want to tell you something that when he calls to me, I'm not the type who will send a nanny his way or a maidservant his way. I will personally go when he calls. And if he is in any form of distress and he calls unto me, I will leave everything and charge towards him to protect him. Hallelujah. And that's exactly what Psalm 18, 7th till the 10th verse explains to you and me is what happens when you are as child and you call up to him. You might not be, as I said, in a situation where you are with your back against the wall of a situation which is calling out almost to death, or where you see no way out. It just says that when you call unto him, he will answer you. Hallelujah. And you as a child, and be rest assured this morning that if you call unto him, and if there's anything that is coming against you, this is the creator of heaven and earth, your father, and this is his reaction. Hallelujah. If you can even fathom, read it again. Psalm 18, 8 to 10. Read it again and you will understand. Where do you think he's going? He's coming towards you. Hallelujah. And he sped upon the wings of the wind. Hallelujah. He will come down to you, as his word says. The 13th verse says, The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the most high uttered his voice. Hailstones and coals of fire, he sent out his arrows and scattered them, and the lightning flashes in abundance and routed them, the word says. Oh, hallelujah. That's the 13th and the 14th verse. He will speak into your situation today. Amen. Hallelujah. He will speak into your situation. And this is for someone, if you have an accuser this morning, and you know what? Let me just tell you, some of you, for some of us who know Jesus, there's an accuser almost all the time, but you just don't get to know about it. But today, if there is a human who's accusing you, who's standing against you, I want to tell you with his hailstones and coals of fire and arrows, the creator of heaven and earth is going to scatter them. Amen. He's going to make them run. He is going to route them in front of you. Hallelujah. Amen. And he will cause them to retreat. He will cause them to retreat. Amen. Hallelujah. The 16th verse says, He sent from on high. He took me. He drew me out of many waters. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He sent from on high. He took me. He drew me out of many waters. If you are in the situation where you feel the water is above you, listen to the word of God this morning. He will take you. He will draw you out himself out of those many waters. Hallelujah. 17th verse says, He drew, he delivered me from my strong enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my stay. Amen. Hallelujah. Yes, there are times when you don't know what to do with the situation at hand. Yes, there are times when, as I said, it might not be your physical enemy, it might not be another human being who you can see. It can just be a spiritual battle which you cannot understand that is in front of you, and it is probably overtaking you, and you just don't know what to do. Maybe just a time of weakness. And I want to tell you, for those who hate you, or for any situation that's too mighty for you, he will confront it for you. The Lord is your stay. Oh, hallelujah. As I said, it might be a tough one. It might not even be related to people coming against you. Maybe it's a tough project at work that seems impossible. Maybe it's a personal situation. Maybe it's a health situation. Maybe it's a financial situation that's staring at you right now, and you just don't know what to do. I want to tell you this morning, the Lord is your stay. Just remain where you are, is what it means. God will change the situation right from where you're at. Amen. He will not even have you move a finger. He is your stay. You stay right there. You will not need to be displaced nor even move from where you are. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. The 19th verse goes on to say, He brought me forth also into a broad place. He rescued me because he delighted in me. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He brought me forth also into a broad place. He rescued me because he delights in me. Of course, he delights in you. The world will point fingers to you and tell you that you're not good enough. The world will point fingers at you and point out your flaws. But your creator says he's fearfully and wonderfully made you, and he absolutely delights in you. Whether you have straight hair or curly hair or watts on your face, or no hair at all for that matter, he delights in you. And I want to tell you this beautiful morning, he will change your situation. Align to Psalm 18. And I want to tell you that God called David a person of his own heart. David knew God deeply. He had a deep relationship with God. And this is how David knew God responds when he calls unto him. And I want to tell you this morning, he delights in you. He will change your situation. He will take you to still waters, he will take you to a broad place. He will lie down next to you in that beautiful pasture, and he will sing upon you. Hallelujah. This is the word of the Lord, it's not mine. And I want to tell you that these are all places of peace and of calm. So relax this beautiful morning and understand that this battle is not yours, it's for him to fight. And I want to take you to the 28th verse which says, For your light, for you light my lamp, O Lord. The Lord my God illumines my darkness. Oh, hallelujah. For you light my lamp. The Lord my God illumines my darkness. I told you, aligned to the word of God, we battle not with flesh and blood sometimes. And even if you are battling with flesh and blood, it's something that's pushing them from the back, which you cannot see. Its powers and darkness, the Bible says, its principalities, its titles and dominions, which you and I don't understand. And this beautiful morning, through the word of God from Psalm 18, I'm here to tell you that you need to do nothing because he will come down from where he is and fire and with smoke from his nostrils, and he will wipe out your situation from under you. You won't even have to move. Hallelujah. He is your light, he is your battle in this darkness. Hallelujah. But this beautiful morning, I just want to tell you one thing, and I started with that, and I'm going to end with that this morning because I told you it's not necessary. Sometimes you're fighting a battle. It's not necessary. It's not necessary that sometimes you go through lows in life. And praise God for that because He's fully in control of everything. But there are times when these things do happen. There are times when you're left alone. There are times when you lose a loved one and you feel this journey is difficult. There are times when you had plan A and it's been thwarted, and now you didn't have plan B, so you don't know what to do. There are times when you need finances, maybe, and you don't have any. There are times when your doctor has given you a medical report of some sorts, and you cannot understand it. But I want to tell you in all these things, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Christ. And this beautiful day, I'm going back to the scripture that I started with from Jeremiah 33, 3, which says, Call unto me. Hallelujah. I want to tell you that Jeremiah 33.3, I'm reading it to you again. Call to me and I will answer you. And I want to tell you that Psalm 18 starts with, I called unto the Lord and He answered me. Amen. Hallelujah. And this beautiful morning, this beautiful day, whatever time zone you're in, I just want to tell you that call unto the Lord. Whatever situation you might be, hey, you can just be in a very good place and you can still call unto him just to thank him for what's happening with you. And I want to tell you he will answer you. And in case you're in any of these other situations which are tough, or you have, as I said, people snapping at your back, people vying for your role, your position, maybe at your workplace, people ganging up against you, believe me, they do not stand a chance because your father hears your voice, the Bible says from Psalm 18, and he will come down. From heaven, he will mount clouds and he will come down. And as I said, if you don't believe me, just read Psalm 18 yourself. Read it in your own time. Shut that door, open Psalm 18 and read it, and you will understand what happens when you call out the Most High. And this beautiful morning, as I said, I'm just going straight back to that. And that is, how often do you call unto the Lord? And if you ever feel that he doesn't listen to you, I'm sorry. But you are mistaken. He absolutely hears your voice. He can hear your voice and he will respond to you. And he will shake the earth and his foundations, and the mountains will tremble. Because he will be angry if anyone messes with his creation, if anyone messes with his child. We rest assured this morning that he is your fight in this battle of darkness. He is your shield and buck. And buckler, he is your he's your savior, your redeemer. Be still and know that he is the Lord. Hallelujah. I'd like to pray. I thank you for this beautiful time. This day that you have made, and we will rejoice and be glad in it, Lord. This beautiful day, I thank you for releasing this word into our lives. I thank you, Lord, that you're changing people's situations already. Thank you, Lord. For mounting the clouds and coming down into some people's situations, Lord. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful word, your double-edged sword that does not go back until it has achieved where it has been set out for, Lord. And today, Lord, as people call unto you, I thank you, Lord, that you're changing people's heart that they will call onto you. And when they do, Lord, you will show them great and mighty things that they know not of. You will open the spirituals and pour out such a blessing that they will not have room enough to contain it. You will come down into the situations and you will change it. And they will be proud and they will know that it is you, their creator, their father who hears their voice and answers when we call. Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful time. Thank you for this for your beautiful presence in people's lives. Some people can feel you, Lord. I thank you for that because you are ever so faithful. We remain faithless, but you are faithful, Lord. I thank you for your love that you're showering upon some people. I thank you for the reassurance that some people can feel and know that you are at their right hand. Oh, I thank you, Lord, for that. For that table that you have set, a banquet. Oh hallelujah. In front of the accusers, Lord. They sit at your banquet that you have made for them. And they will judge their accusers, Lord. Oh, hallelujah. Thank you for everything that you've done, Lord. Thank you for opening up the spirituals, Lord. Thank you. That you love us, Lord. Thank you for what you did on that cross for us, Lord. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
