Why Foundation Determines Everything

Today I have something I want to share with you that's really important, and I think it's just important to pay attention from the very beginning today. So I want to start with the word foundation. And for anyone who understands, foundation of any structure that's built actually defines the longevity and the uh let's call it the stability of that structure. So you know, whatever it might be, whether it's a whether it's a building, whether it's a bridge, you know, maybe a dam, a road. And look at whatever whatever example you like, this beautiful morning, but I want to tell you that the foundation of that structure is the key. And today I'm going straight into the word of God and want to share with you at a time when Jesus was on this planet, and there's a time when Jesus is speaking about this word, foundation.

The House On Rock Or Sand

Jesus used to love teaching the crowds through parables and examples, and again he's talking to the crowd, and this time he's telling them about this example of two men. And it's about a wise man and a foolish man, is how he calls it. And he says a wise man builds his house upon a rock, and he says a foolish man builds his house upon the sand. And how and how this story actually pans out is it says that a storm comes and rains and flood and strong winds and they lash against both these houses. And in the example that Jesus is sharing this morning, uh I'm sharing this morning, Jesus was sharing with the crowds, it says that when the rain, the flood, and the strong winds came, the house that was built upon the rock stood firm. But the house that was built upon the sand crashed. And he goes on to say, the wise man had built his house upon the rock and it stood firm, but the foolish man had built his house upon the sand and it got destroyed. And the Bible, in fact, in fact, Jesus' words, great was its fall. And that's really sad to hear, but I want to tell you that what was Jesus talking about? He's talking about the house being your life. Always understand Jesus spoke in parables and examples, and Jesus is talking about your life being that home. And then he's talking about the storm, the wind, the rain, the winds, the flood. I'd like to call it as the challenges that come in life. And Jesus is giving the people there a clear example of how if you build your house on the sand, it will fall and great will be its crash. But if, like the wise man, you built it on the rock, no matter what happens in life, that house stood firm. That's Jesus talking

Support Systems Versus True Foundation

about a foundation. And I want to tell you this morning, you know, we all have we all have these people that we depend on in life, someone that we go to when we need help. You know, some of us maybe have a group of people, some of us, you know, that that one relative, some of us a best friend that we've built over years, some of us a work colleague. And no matter what the situation, maybe it's, you know, as I said, a difficult situation in making a decision, maybe a financial crunch, maybe a health topic that you can't speak to anyone about. And no matter what example and multiple iterations or examples I can share with you, we all have a support system on this planet. And I want to tell you that I don't think there's anything wrong with that because Jesus himself, when he was on the planet, put his disciples two by two and sent them out to do his work. So that's fine, I feel, to have a support system. But this morning, as I said, it's nice to have a support system, but I want to give you a different perspective. And since Jesus spoke about setting the right foundation in life, and this is the first time, let me tell you, Jesus is actually addressing a crowd. He's speaking to a crowd, and this is the first time. And he talks about the wise man and the foolish man building a house, which means it's important. In fact, he even says, those who have ears, let them hear, which means it's a very important one. Jesus always said, Those who have ears, let them hear. He said, Verily, verily, which means these are the ones you need to pay attention to. And he's talking about, as I said, the foundation, building the house on the right foundation. So, what is the right foundation? What was Jesus actually talking about? What is the meaning of what Jesus was trying to say when he's talking about the wise man who built his foundation on the rock?

A Child’s Jump That Defines Trust

So I'm bringing to you today the second word, which is trust. And I want to tell you, trust is a deep word, and for some people, trust has a very deep meaning. For some people, it's a very difficult thing to do. It's trust someone or trust in anything. And for some people, it's uh extremely easy to do, to trust in someone. But today I want to share an example with you, and some of you know it, and some of you might not, but I have a son who's almost just about turning four. And let me tell you what is the meaning that I'm associating this example with when it comes to this word trust. You know, there are these times when he's you know on a slightly higher place. I mean, he's climbed a ladder, or he's uh, you know, standing at the top of the sofa or the the head of the bed. And there are times when he will just suddenly look at me and call out my name and he'll say, catch me, and he'll jump. There are times when he's running towards me on the ground and he will just leap in my direction, expecting me to catch him. And he calls me Dada. And it's a split-second decision, and he will turn to me and he'll say, Dada, catch, and he'll jump. For him, it's a joke and it's funny. For me, there's no warning. But I want to tell you something this beautiful morning. He is 100% sure that I will catch him. He has no doubt about the fact that I will catch him. And this is what I like to call pure trust. There's no doubt in his mind that his dada would not catch him. And I want to tell you, um, you know, anyone who knows boys will know that after they cross the age one, they do some ridiculous things at times. So it's been almost three years that he's been doing this, and he does it almost daily. And I want to tell you that never once has it ever happened, and never will it happen, that I will drop my son. Let me tell you this. Some of you are fathers here hearing this morning, and some of you are close to that, and some of you have been fathers multiple times over, but I can tell you that I've hurt myself in the bargain multiple times: hands, leg, torso, head. But my son has never gotten hurt when he has jumped in my direction asking me to catch him. Hallelujah. And no matter how ridiculous the stunt that he pulls off on me is, he has never, never gotten hurt. But that's not important. What I want to bring to your attention this morning is my son trusts me completely. There is no doubt about the fact that my father would drop me. He has no doubt in his head. He does that to his mom too, but today's, I'm trying to give you a particular example. And I'm asking you this morning before I get into anything else, do you trust God in this same way of this example that I've shared with you this morning? Do you trust God for your life in a way where you will jump in his direction and you know that he will catch you no matter what? I know it's easier said than done. I know a lot of you will turn around and say, You have no idea of what's happened in my life. You have no idea how many times I've trusted him and what has happened. Hey, remember one thing God is in control. And his word says he knows the plans he has for you. They are plans and thoughts to prosper you and not to harm you, plans that have a hope and a future, and it might not be according to your plan. I want to tell you that this morning. But you should know that he is your father, and he will take care of you just that you don't see it right now, or you don't see it according to your

Psalms On Trust Over “Chariots”

plan. And I'm going straight into the word of God today from Psalm 27, and I'm gonna leave you with this. Do you trust God in your life? And I'll come back to it. Do you trust God in your life for everything that has to come your way? Psalms 27 says, Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember and trust in the name of our God. Hallelujah. Written by King David, different versions have it differently. Some praise in trust uh in chariots and horses, but we praise the name of our God. But I'm using the Amplified this morning, which uses the word trust. And this is written by King David, who trusted God completely. Let me tell you that. The most successful king in the history of Israel, who trusted God completely, who was raised from a shepherd boy, he was a nothing and was raised to the king of Israel and the most successful king of Israel who reigned in peace in the land across all France, written by that king who blindly trusted the Lord. And let me tell you what chariots and horses refer to. They refer to our support systems, our friends, our relatives, our accolades, our smarts, our finances, our 1 a.m. friend, our titles, our educational background, call it what you like as per your current situation. But that's what horses and chariots are referring to. But King David, this beautiful morning, says, Some trust in those things, chariots and horses, but I will trust in the name of our God, in the name of our Lord. Hallelujah. And this is for each of you today, written by King David, someone who trusted God completely. Hallelujah. Remember when King David stood in front of Goliath, he said, Who is this who stands in front of the armies of the living God? I come to you. You come to me with spear and sword, I come to you with the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Some of you can feel the presence of God. Hallelujah. This is for you this morning from Psalms 37. Another psalm written by this king, David, who understood God at a whole new level, who trusted the Lord at a level which you cannot even fathom. Psalm 37, 3 says, Trust in the Lord and do good. Dwell in the land and feed on his faithfulness. Hallelujah. The Bible says, He remains faithful though we are faithless. And this beautiful passage of scripture says, Trust in the Lord. I want to tell you this beautiful morning, God is always faithful. No matter where we are, no matter where we go. I want to tell you his throne never moves. We move. We walk away, we get closer. We get hot, we get cold, we get lukewarm. But he doesn't move. Hallelujah. Live in the land that he has given you, is what this passage of scripture is saying. And his faithfulness to you as a father will bring you his blessings. Hallelujah. Dwell in the land and feed on his faithfulness. I want to tell you, when he took the Israelites out of slavery, he fed them every day for 40 years from heaven. Do you even know that? He fed them every day from heaven. Hallelujah.

Delight In The Lord Daily

37.4 says, Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart. Amen. Many of you have heard the scripture. Delight yourself in the Lord, but many of you are not very clear about what this actually means. What is the meaning of delight yourself in the Lord? Let me tell you what it is. When was the last time you got up in the morning and thanked God for what he's done? When was the last time you got up and thanked God and looked back in the previous years to see where you were and where you are today and thanked him for it? When was the last time you got up and said, Good morning, Jesus? Thank you for everything that you've done. Thank you for the plans that you have for me. When was the last time you were happy with what you have? Because you it was given to you by God. That is delighting in the Lord. Getting up in the morning, reading the Bible, getting up in the morning, saying a prayer. You think you need to have fancy words to go to God? No, just shut the door, Jesus said. Shut the door and talk to me. Delight in him, the Bible says, and he will give you the desires of your heart. I want you to take a few seconds and think about the desires of your heart. And you'll say it won't happen in a few seconds. Fine. But do you know that the Bible says that if you delight in the Lord, he will give you the desires of your heart? It doesn't say he might, he shall, he will check how much finances he has. No, it doesn't say that. It says that he will give you the desires of your heart. Delight in the Lord. Hallelujah. Delight in the Lord. Get up. The Bible says his mercies are new every morning. Do you know we don't even know what those mercies are? Get up and just thank him for his mercies that are new every morning. Hallelujah. Psalm 37.5 says, Commit your

Commit Your Way And Let Go

way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass. Amen. Hallelujah. What is he shall bring it to pass? He shall bring the desires of your heart to pass, is what it means. Commit your way to the Lord and trust in him. And he will bring your desires to fruition. Hallelujah. Amen. Leave everything with him this beautiful morning. Leave everything for him to handle. Surrender all your plans to him. Surrender your life's direction to your five-year plan, three-year plan, ten-year plan. And trust him with everything. That's what it means by saying commit your way to the Lord. Leave things at his feet. And he will bring it to pass. The desires of your heart. Hallelujah. This is someone, this is for someone specifically this morning who's had a tough time. You've had a tough time. I can't answer those questions as to why it's happened. I can't answer the question as to how it has happened. But I am here this morning to give you this passage of scripture and tell you through the word of God from Psalm 37 7.

Rest And Wait For His Timing

Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him. Hallelujah. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him. Hallelujah. You've probably been asking God for something for a long time. You've probably been going through a tough time recently. Maybe you've been going through a tough time for a while. I'm not sure. But take rest in the Lord. Do you know? The Bible says, under his wings you will take refuge. Under his wings, you will take refuge. Under his pinions, you will find rest. Hallelujah. Some of you can feel the presence of God. And I want to tell you, it's not easy. I know it's not easy. Sometimes when those tough situations come, I know it's not easy. But as I said, the word of the Lord is saying this to you this morning: rest in the Lord. It's not easy. But take rest in the Lord. Take refuge under his wings, under his pinions. Hallelujah. And I want to tell you, when it says wait patiently for him, it means that things don't happen in our time. You might want it yesterday, you might want it five years ago, you might have wanted it as of right now. But I want to tell you that you need to wait for him to come through because you know, let me tell you something. Psalm 37 and these verses that I've shared with you is a combination of two things. It talks about his plans that he has for you, which are only to prosper you and not to harm you. And it also talks about your desires coming to life. Imagine that. And David is probably the only person who knew it. David is probably the only person who had a plan. Or he had a desire, I'm sorry. And he also saw God's plans coming to life for him. He was a shepherd. Can you even imagine that? He was a shepherd. You know what's a shepherd? In most countries today, that's the that's probably the guy who's the most insignificant in the chain of things. You know, your white collar, blue collar, and then you'll say shepherd last. Who's that guy? That guy who walks the sheep? Is he even a guy? I thought it's mechanized today. Yeah, that's the guy that David was. And that guy became the king of Israel. And he clearly understood how God's plan for him came to life. And he probably also saw everything that he had as a heart's desire come to life. And I want to tell you that Psalm 37, 4, 5, 6, 7, all are a combination of God's plans coming to life for you and your plans and desires coming to life. Understand that. But how does it happen? When you trust in the Lord. Hallelujah. When you rest in the Lord and wait patiently. Oh, it can really, really make it difficult for you, but you need to wait patiently. Hallelujah. It's not me, it's the word of the Lord. Wait for Him to do things in His time. Have patience. And there's another version that says, and he will meet you know it's very difficult, and that's the reason why I started with the example of my son. He trusts me with all his heart. He trusts me with all his heart. And when he takes that leap, which for him is fun, I want to tell you he knows fully well that I'm gonna catch him. And that's the trust I'm talking about today. I spoke about a foundation and I spoke about trust. And I want to tell you this beautiful morning. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, with everything that you have, just trust him. I know it's very difficult. Do you know that as human beings, we have more trust in the people around us than we have in God? We have more trust in the vehicle that will be parked down in a four-wheel drive than we have on God. That's made by a human being. God has made the universe. Hey, but it's not you, I'm not blaming you for it. It's just it's a human thing. But you can change your perspective.

Proverbs Wisdom For Straight Paths

Trust in the Lord. I want to tell you, Proverbs is the book of wisdom. In case you didn't know that, the book of wisdom is telling you this morning, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding. Let me tell you something. Do you know why it talks about us being born of man and having a limited capacity on this planet? That's because we are born of blood. And when you get to know Jesus, you're born of the Spirit. And if you get to see the spiritual world, you'll understand this passage of scripture and it says, lean not on your understanding. Because our understanding is limited, our knowledge is of this world. We can only think of sending a rocket to Mars or wherever it's gone last, I don't know. But beyond that, we can't fathom. But God has made the universe. And let's not. And that's what this passage of scripture means. Don't lean on your understanding, which is very limited to this planet. It's very limited to water is for the fish, nobody can walk on it. Right? That's what it is. So lean not on your understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him. What does that mean? In everything that happens, acknowledge him and give him thanks. Do you know when Jesus was on this planet and he got the five loaves and two fish, he looked to the heavens and he gave thanks? Why would Jesus have to do that? He's acknowledging God, his father, for what he's got and what he's about to do after that. He's already thanked him for it. Hallelujah. Acknowledge him in all your ways, in everything that happens, give him thanks. In everything that happens, look at the look at the clothes you wear, look at the shoes you have, look at the watch. Thank him. Acknowledge him. Did you have it the last year? No, you didn't. Look at your life, look at your home, look at the people around you. Did it have it? Did you have it last year? Maybe the year before that. No, acknowledge him for it and thank him for it. Hallelujah. And then the Bible says, He shall make your path straight. Amen. Hallelujah. It's beautiful morning. I want to tell you how he shall direct your paths. Remember, Moses built the tent of meeting just to tell God, Lord, you don't take me anywhere if you are not going before me. You don't take me anywhere. If you don't want to go before me, don't take us anywhere, Lord. That's God directing his paths. And that's all he wanted. Hallelujah. This beautiful morning, I want to tell you, foundation is Jesus. Just in case you didn't know, I want to tell you the foundation is the word. And the trust again is Jesus. The trust again is the word. And this beautiful morning, I want to ask you, do you trust God enough to direct your paths? And some of you, as I said, will will have a different thought on it. But I'm here and I started with telling you that I'm going to give you a perspective this beautiful morning, and that is a foundation and trust. And as simple as that, if you trust in the Lord, I want to tell you, He will direct your paths, He will take control, He will give you the desires of your heart. You need to rest in Him and you need to wait patiently. Because the Bible says everything is yea and amen in Jesus. If you understand what that means, I want to tell you what that means is everything in this book is yes and amen, which is so be it in the name of Jesus. That means if you knew even one third of the blessings around this Bible, it means it will come to life in Jesus. Hallelujah. Amen. And that's why I told you the foundation is Jesus, the trust is Jesus. Hallelujah. It's all on Jesus. Hallelujah. This beautiful morning. As I said, I've come to give you a perspective. It's very easy to look at your problems in life and say, I've tried. You don't know what has happened when I've trusted God. No, no. When you trusted God, he took over. And he started making your plans happen. His plans happen for you. The problem is you didn't want his plans. That's probably what it is. Or you didn't want it in his timing, you wanted it in your timing. And let me tell you, we're all human. Our timing is always as of yesterday. We wanted it yesterday. We wanted it last year. By this year, I should have been in another place. Of course. By this year, I should have had three marks. Of course. But not according to God. And it will happen. But in his time. Hallelujah. I'd

Closing Prayer For Surrender

like to pray. Dear Lord, I thank you for this beautiful time. I thank you for your double-edged sword that does not go back until it has achieved what it has been set up for Lord. I thank you for this beautiful day. Where we leave things at your feet. We acknowledge you. We give you glory, honor, and praise. We give you thanks, Lord, for your mercies that are new every morning that we do not even see. We thank you, Lord, for always being faithful to us, though we are faithless. And in line to your word today, Lord, we leave everything at your feet. And we trust the plans that you have for us, Lord. Plans to prosper us and not to harm us plans with the hope in a future, Lord. We leave it at your feet. That you will bring it to life. Your word says you will bring our hearts' desires to life, Lord. And I thank you this beautiful morning. For that is happening for some people right now. Hallelujah. I can see the floodgates of heaven open, and I can see the windows of heaven. With finances and body parts and cars and people and relationships and hallelujah. God is renewing someone someone's heart. Or if you have a heart ailment, he's changing your heart. He's restoring you. Hallelujah. New relationships. We trust you this beautiful morning. We leave everything at your feet. We thank you, Lord, for everything. Is here and amen in your name. And we live leave everything at your feet. We trust you under your wings. We take refuge under your opinions. We seek your strength. Your strength is made perfect in our weakness, Lord, and we leave everything at your feet. Though some of us are finding it difficult right now, I thank you, Lord, for taking complete control. We leave everything into your hands. We thank you, Lord, for the love that you've showered upon us every day. Thank you for the new things that have already started. Thank you, Lord, for our heart's desires that are coming to life, and you will see it happen. And you will know it is only through the Lord. Trust in Him this beautiful morning. Change the way you look at things, change the way you operate on this planet. Trust in Jesus completely. And he will direct your paths, he will make your paths straight, and he will bring your heart's desires to life. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
