Who Is God To You?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
When Moses stood before the burning bush, God didn't introduce Himself with a résumé, a title, or a list of accomplishments.
He simply said:
"I AM WHO I AM."
And with those words, God revealed something profound about His nature—something that continues to speak to us thousands of years later.
But what does "I AM" really mean?
And what does God's name have to do with the fears, struggles, and uncertainties we face today?
In this episode, we explore the meaning behind God's names—not as religious labels, but as living promises that reveal His character and His heart toward us.
Throughout the Bible, people encountered God in deeply personal ways:
• Abraham called Him Jehovah Jireh — The Lord Will Provide.
• Gideon knew Him as Jehovah Shalom — The Lord Is Peace.
• Ezekiel spoke of Jehovah Shammah — The Lord Is There.
• Others encountered Him as Jehovah Rapha — The Lord Who Heals, and Jehovah Nissi — The Lord Our Banner.
So is God really all of these things?
And if He is, what does that mean for us today?
• Can God still be our Provider in seasons of lack?
• Can He be our Peace in the middle of anxiety and uncertainty?
• Can He be our Healer, our Protector, and our constant Companion through every season of life?
• And most importantly—who is God to you?
If you've ever wondered about the meaning of God's names, desired a deeper relationship with Him, or needed a fresh reminder of His promises, this episode is for you.
Because sometimes one revelation about who God is can change everything.

A Father Who Comes Near
SPEAKER_00Hallelujah. I want to tell you some of you are going to experience God today this beautiful morning. Some of you are already experiencing Him. Praise God for that. Hallelujah. I'm going straight into the Word of God, and I started with acquainting you with our Father a few weeks ago. Our loving Father who sent his son on this planet, who came down to give up his life on a cross for you and me. And
Moses And The Name I Am
SPEAKER_00today I want to take you slightly deeper into that topic. That topic of an understanding of who is our father. And I'll start, as I said, I want to go straight into the word of God this beautiful morning. And I want to take you at a time when you know God is having an interaction with someone. Hallelujah. And in fact, God is having a conversation with Moses. And some of you know it and some of you don't. And this is the time when God is talking to Moses through a burning bush. And I want to tell you it's a beautiful conversation between Moses and God. And you know, uh he he calls onto Moses, and Moses goes to a particular place and he starts speaking to him. And all of a sudden, Moses gets to know that he is supposed to save the whole of a race or a whole land called Israel. Because God has decided now to send him. And you see, it's a genuine conversation between you know Moses and God, and God tells Moses that he has to go on his behalf. And Moses asks a very genuine question, and it's from the book of Exodus, the third chapter, the 13th verse onwards, Exodus 3:13. Moses said to God, I'm reading to you from the word of God, Moses said to God, Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, the God of our fathers has sent me, and they say to me, What is his name? What shall I say to them? Hallelujah. You see, it's a genuine question. Um, for those of you who don't know, the Bible says that Israel was calling out to their father and calling out to God for many years because they were slaves, and uh you know, so they were waiting for God, and all of a sudden now there's this man called Moses who will come in front of them and says that our father is your father has sent me. So, in that he genuinely asks, What should I say if anyone asks me, What's your name? And here's the response from God, and that's from Genesis, the 22nd chapter. I'm sorry, Exodus, the third chapter, the 14th verse. And God said to Moses, and listen to this, I am who I am. Hallelujah. Moses asked God, who are you? And when Israel, an entire country, ask me that their father has sent me, who am I supposed to say that you are? And he tells Moses, I am who I am. Hallelujah. And that's what you shall say to the people of Israel, I am, has sent me to you. Hallelujah. And moreover, God said to Moses, and I'm reading further, thus you shall say to the children of Israel, the Lord, your God of your fathers, your ancestors, the father of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations. Amen. Hallelujah. So you see, um, I'm not getting into the other stories, and you know, God's interactions with them, but Moses he had a very clear job with Moses, and when Moses asks him, Who shall I say, Lord, that you are? he says, Tell them that I am who I am, and tell them that I am as sent you, and this is my name forever. This is my memorial to all generations. Hallelujah. Some of you can feel the presence of God, and I want to tell you, and I want to leave you with this I am, who I am, and I want to take you deeper into who God is this beautiful morning, who he is to us. Some of you know our father, you know, at a deep level, our protector, our redeemer. You heard last week that your calls go to his ears, and he bows down the heavens when he comes down, when he hears your cries. That's your father. But today I want to give you a different perspective about our beautiful father, and I want you to hear these stories that I'm sharing with you from the Bible, and I want you to keep each of them in mind because I want to come back to a little secret at the end, and it's important.
Abraham And The God Who Provides
SPEAKER_00And I'm going to start straight with uh Abraham. Of course, how could I not have Abraham in today's word? And Abraham, I want to tell you, had a beautiful relationship with God, and uh for those of you who know it, or those of you who don't, there's a time even when God sits and has a meal with him. That's unbelievable. But that's the kind of relationship he had with Moses and uh with Abraham, and this story I'm I'm sharing with you from the book of Abraham, the 22nd chapter of Genesis. And for those of you who don't know, God kept giving promises to Abraham, and Abraham kept saying, So be it, Lord, so be it Lord. In fact, he tells him that he'll make his uh his ancestors as much as the sand of the sea and the stars in the sky, the sand of the land, I'm sorry, the beach. And Abraham keeps saying, So be it, Lord. And I want to tell you that Abraham's 99 years old and he doesn't even have one child. His wife, in fact, is Baron. Hallelujah. And I want to tell you that God gives Abraham a son at the age of 100. And you have to listen to this. There must have been something about Abraham, and now suddenly Abraham is told by God, take your son Isaac, oh Abraham, take your son Isaac, your son who you love, and offer him as a burnt offering on Mount Moriah, a place that I will show you. And I want to tell you, look at the heart of this man, Abraham. He just gets up the next morning, the Bible says, early in the morning, he saddles his donkey, he takes two men with him, he cuts wood for a burnt offering, and he sets off as God asked him to. That's unbelievable. And as the story goes, I want to tell you that Abraham leaves, the Bible says, the next day early in the morning with two men, a donkey, and the wood and his son Isaac, and he goes to the mount, you know, the base of the mount, and he makes these two young men wait there with the donkey, and he tells them, wait here with the donkeys while I go yonder and worship. And he takes the wood, he puts it on his son Isaac, probably on his back, and he goes towards the place that God has appointed. This is crazy. And the Bible, in fact, says Isaac turns around and asks him, Father, we have the wood for the fire, but where is the lamb? For the burnt offering. And I want you to listen to Abraham's response: My son, God, will provide for himself the lamb for the offering. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And let me tell you how the story pans out. He goes to the place, the Bible says, without batting an eyelid, he binds his son with rope. He builds an altar with the wood that he has taken, and he puts his son on top of it. He takes a knife, he raises his hand to strike and slay his son, who he got after a hundred years. If you can only imagine that state, then you should imagine it. And then the angel of the Lord comes to him and says, Abraham, Abraham, I can only imagine that call. Don't lay a hand on that boy or do anything to him. That's the word of the angel of the Lord. And Abraham looked around and he saw a ram stick uh stuck in a thicket by the horns. And Abraham takes that lamb, it's a ram rather, and offered it as a burnt sacrifice instead of his son. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And I want to tell you, this is where it comes from. Abraham, the 22nd chapter, the 14th verse says, and Abraham named that place the Lord will provide. And it is said to this day, on the mountain of the Lord, it will be provided. Amen. Hallelujah. So you see, I want to tell you that, you know, I believe that in his heart he had no doubt that God will provide. In fact, you can only imagine when he's walking there with his son, and his son turns around and tells him, Father, we have the wood. But where is the lamb? And he turns around and tells him, God will provide for himself the lamb. Hallelujah. I want to tell you what this means in Hebrew. It means Jehovah Jirah, the Lord will provide. Amen. Hallelujah. And this beautiful morning, I want to point out to you that to Abraham he knew in his heart that God will provide. And that was God, that was what God became to him. He became his provider. Hallelujah. The Lord will provide. Amen. And here's the next story I want to share
Gideon And The God Of Peace
SPEAKER_00with you. It comes from the life of somebody by the name of Gideon. Some of you might know him, some of you might not. And this comes from the book of Judges, the sixth chapter. And um, you know, it's a it's it's a beautiful story. It's actually uh at a time when Israel has turned to multiple gods, and you know, they make these uh, you know, statues and uh figurines of wood and all those kind of things, and they start worshiping, and God decides that he's gonna give Israel back into the hands of other people after you know getting them out of slavery. And I think it's really important and it's beautiful. The story is just beautiful. So I want to tell you that Israel is under the rule of uh the Midianites, or what you the Bible calls as Midians, they're from another race, and the Bible says that Gideon is under a terubine tree. Hallelujah. I think I gotta get me one of these terbin trees. Uh, he's under a terubine tree, threshing wheat, and an angel of the Lord appears to him and says, Lord, the Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor. So basically, the Bible says that he's threshing wheat because he's trying to hide it and probably you know, take that wheat and go back home because the Midianites will probably take a portion of it as tax or whatever. So he's hiding there and he's doing it under a tetan tree. And an angel of the Lord comes and says, The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor. And then Gideon goes on to ask, Why, Lord, have you given Israel into the hands of the Midians after you've brought us out of slavery? So here's a genuine question again. You brought us out of slavery with so much of flamboyance, and for what? To give us into somebody else's hand? And the Lord turns to him and says, You shall save Israel from the hands of the Midians. Have I not sent you? And then he goes on to ask God, how can I save Israel? You know, let me tell you something. I'm the weakest clan in the whole of the land, and the smallest in my father's home, which means he was probably the youngest. How can I save Israel and listen to the response of the Most High? The Lord said to him, Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man. What? I'm repeating it. It comes from Judges 6:16, and you can mark it down in your Bibles. It says, The Lord said to him, Surely I will be with you, and you will defeat the Midianites as one man. God is making a promise to one man called Gideon, saying that an entire land that has been taken over by the Midianites, hallelujah, will be freed by him. One man. And then Gideon goes on to say, and this is the next part which is really interesting. He goes on to say, So be it, Lord, wait here under this tree as I make an offering to you. And the Bible says, Gideon prepared a young goat, unleavened bread, he put the meat in a basket, he put the broth in a pot. He came on that tree. Uh, he brought it back under the tree, and the angel of the Lord tells him to put it on a rock. Hallelujah. So he takes the meat, he puts the bread, and he pours the broth on the rock. And the angel of the Lord took the staff that he has in his hand, and with the end of it he touched the meat and the unleavened bread, and fire came out of the rock and consume the meat. Hallelujah. And then the angel of the Lord departed, and the Lord said to him, Peace be with you. Do not fear, you shall not die. Hallelujah. Amen. Of course, how can a man go against an entire army? How? Of course he can, because the Lord said that he will. And he tells him, Peace be with you, do not fear, you shall not die. And Judges 6:24 is what I want you to, what I want to bring to your attention this morning. So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and called it the Lord is peace. And the Bible says to this day, it is still an offer of the Abrezites. Hallelujah. So the Lord's last word to Gideon is, Peace be with you, do not fear, you will not die. Judges 6:24. Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and named it the Lord is peace. Hallelujah. And it's still there till this day. And I want to tell you this beautiful morning in Hebrew, Jehovah Shalom is the Lord, his peace. Hallelujah. Gideon knew in his heart God will bring him peace. And that's what God became to him: his peace. Hallelujah. And I have my last story that I want to share with you before I come to the crux of today's beautiful
Ezekiel And The God Who Is There
SPEAKER_00word. And the last one is from this beautiful prophet called Ezekiel. God did some amazing things through Ezekiel. And I want to tell you that, you know, Ezekiel it comes from the book of Ezekiel, of course. And the 48th chapter, that's the last chapter in the book. And I want to tell you that God basically gives some amazing visions to Ezekiel to tell him what's going to happen to the future of Israel. You know, because Israel, even though after being freed from slavery in Egypt, they kept having this on and off relationship with God. They kept forgetting who he is and they kept making other gods and worshiping them. And which is why God also had a very different relationship with his own people. It's not like he didn't know it was going to happen. But anyway, coming back to Ezekiel, and there's this time when God shows Ezekiel a vision. And I told you, uh, you know, God was anyway giving Ezekiel some fabulous visions, and he shows Ezekiel a vision of a new Jerusalem. Hallelujah. A holy and restored city shown to prophet Ezekiel in a vision. Hallelujah. And the book of Ezekiel, the 48th chapter, the 35th verse, and you should mark it down, it's the same city that is spoken about in the book of Revelation, and the city shall be 18,000 cubits all around, and the name of the city from that day shall be the Lord is there. Amen. Hallelujah. And in uh in Hebrew, excuse me, in Hebrew, it's called Jehovah Shema. The Lord is there. Hallelujah. And I want to tell you for those who understand what I'm trying to tell you this morning. And I'll give you some more examples. Jehovah Shalom. The Lord is peace. Jehovah Jairah. The Lord. The provider. Jehovah Shama. The Lord is there. Hallelujah. For those of you who don't know, there are many other versions of Jehovah, and I'll tell you some of them. There's Jehovah Rafa, the Lord who heals. There's Jehovah Nisi. The Lord is my banner. He's my fortress. Amen. There's Jehovah Ra or Rohi. The Lord is my shepherd. There's Jehovah El Gebor. The Lord mighty in battle. There's Jehovah Mekodikshidem. The Lord who sanctifies. Hallelujah. I want to tell you these are just a few examples of the names that the Lord has decided to reveal to us.
The Secret Behind God’s Names
SPEAKER_00And I'm going back to the very first story that I had. I told you I'll give you a little secret and I'll tie it all up together. The Lord just told Moses one thing, I am. Hallelujah. Some of you can feel a tremendous presence of God. And I want to tell you, He is. I told you, I'll give you a little secret, and it's just a little secret that whatever you need God to be, He is. Whatever you believe. And just as I said, these beautiful examples, I just said just a few examples. I only gave you three examples this morning. Gideon, of Abraham, and of Ezekiel. And I want to tell you for Gideon, he wanted God to be peace, and God was peace to Abraham. He wanted God to be a provider, and he was a provider. To Ezekiel, he wanted him to be, and he was, and he is. Hallelujah. And he forever shall be. And this beautiful morning, the reason why I gave you a few examples, and I want to tell you this beautiful morning that and I'm leaving you with this is if you need God to be a healer to you, I need you to understand that he is, and if you believe, he will be. It's his word, it's not mine. If you need him to be a banner and a fortress to you, he is, and he will be if you believe. If you need him to be your shepherd, the good shepherd who laid down his life for his sheep, he is and he will be. What a beautiful, beautiful presence of God, and what a beautiful piece of knowledge this is. If you understand it, that God is whatever you need him to be. Hallelujah.
Prayer And Personal Encounter
SPEAKER_00I'd like to pray. Thank you for this beautiful word. Thank you for your double-edged sword, Lord, that does not go back until it has achieved what it has been set out for. I thank you, Lord, for your beautiful presence that people can feel. There's someone who can feel the Lord in his awesome presence, and you can. Hallelujah. Feeling so hot right now. Hallelujah. You can feel the presence of the Most High and enjoy his beautiful presence because maybe today you just need him to be. And I want to assure you that he is. Thank you, Jesus, for your beautiful sacrifice on that cross, because of which all these names abide to us as and when we need. Thank you, Lord. For this beautiful time. Thank you for this beautiful word. Thank you for your beautiful presence that people can feel. Thank you for the way that they are even experiencing you right now. Thank you, Lord, that you're meeting people at their point of need. Thank you, Lord, that you're making people understand who you are this beautiful morning. And they will open that door. And you will enter and sup with them and be with them. And they will be in you. What a beautiful presence of God. Some of you can feel, enjoy his beautiful presence. You have understood him at another level this beautiful morning. And he will turn to you and he will be what you need him to be. Just as he told Moses, I am who I am. He is to all generations, everything and all. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful time. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
