35:28
We spend so much of our lives searching for something that will truly satisfy us. Success, relationships, knowledge, entertainment, or the next big solution. Yet, somehow, we still find ourselves wanting more.
When Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well, He offers her something she never knew she needed — living water. Water that would satisfy a thirst far deeper than the physical, and become a spring leading to eternal life.
But what is this living water?
Why do we continue searching for fulfilment in the world around us?
And how can we receive what Jesus promises?
Through this remarkable encounter, Jesus also reveals what it means to truly worship God — in spirit and in truth. Not merely through rituals, but through a personal relationship with Him, grounded in His Word and prayer.
And this promise of living water doesn't end at the well.
“Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. ”
- Revelation 22:1-2 NASB1995

What are you turning to when your soul feels thirsty?
How do you do it? It's a beautiful morning. I want to get straight into it and I want to tell you that um I have something beautiful to share with you at the time when Jesus was on this planet. And uh you know it's a beautiful story actually. And as I said, I'm gonna get straight into it. It's uh a time when Jesus is on this planet and he's moving from city to city, he's spreading the good news of the kingdom of God, he's spreading the good news of the kingdom of heaven, and Jesus comes to this one particular place and it's called Sychar or Sichar, whatever you want to call it. And the Bible clearly says that it is at a time when he's on his way from Galilee to Galilee from Judea, and he passes through this place called Samaria. So Jesus is on a plan, he has something he needs to do at Judea, and he's going to Judea from Galilee, the city that he's finished what he had to do, and he's passing through this place called Samaria, and there's a city there called Sitcha or Saicha. I'm gonna go with Saicha, and the Bible says that as he's traveling, he's tired. I'm telling you, there are so many things that are beautiful about this story, but you should pay attention this morning. It's just every aspect about this story between uh Jesus and what happens next is just beautiful. So pay attention to every aspect of it because every aspect is going to speak with each and every one of you at different levels, depending on where you're at this day and this morning. So, as I said, Saicha is a city in Samaria, and Jesus, the Bible says, is tired from his travel, and it goes on to say that he's sitting next to a well, and there's this beautiful interaction between him and this woman, a Samaritan woman who's from that city. And the Bible says, as I said, he's tired and he's sitting at the well. And this woman from Samaria has come to the well to draw water. For those of you who want a background, the wells used to be the source of water to a city if we did not have a river next to it. And in most places, wells were the sources of water, and hence there would always be a form of uh let's call it uh livelihood or industrialization next to where there was a well, because it's the only source of water in that region, and this lady has come to this well to draw water.
The Bible says it's the sixth hour of the day, which means it's 12 o'clock in the afternoon, and Jesus asked her for a drink. Now I'll give you a background. The Bible says that Jesus' disciples have gone into the city to buy food. I told you he was done with uh, where was it? Galilee. He was done with Galilee, he was going to Judea and he happens to pass through Samaria, and they would have had this discussion, they would have said, Yeah, you know, we just there's Samaria, let's go into the city of Samaria and buy some food. And Jesus says, Yeah, no problem. I'm I'm just going to wait here. You guys go ahead. And he meets this woman near the well. And let me tell you something, as per history, uh, due to customs and centuries of deep seated religious traditions and racial discrimination or whatever you want to call it, political rivalries, Samaritans would not interact with Jews. Or let me put it the other way around, the Jews would not interact with the Samaritans at all. Which means a Jew would never talk to a Samaritan. And the Bible says that she was a Samaritan woman, and Jesus asked her for water. And the Samaritan woman, I don't know how she perceived it, maybe it was the way they dressed, or I'm not sure, but she perceived very clearly that he was a Jew. So she turns around and she asks him, You being a Jew, how is it that you asked me for water? Her being Samaritan and all. And she calls it out very clearly, how come that you being a Jew are asking me for water? And Jesus answered to her, and I'm reading
it to you from the book of John, the fourth chapter, the tenth verse. You don't need to turn to it, I'm going to tell you the story as it goes. So John 4 10, he says, If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you, Give me a drink, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water. Hallelujah. So Jesus is there, he's sitting next to the well, he's asking for water because he's thirsty. And the lady turns around and tells him, You're asking me for water, you're, I mean, you're a Jew, I'm a Samaritan. A Jew would never ask me a Samaritan for water. And he turns around and tells her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you, give me a drink, you would have asked, and he would give you living water. It's wonderful how he's still referring to himself in the third person. And she turns around and says this to Jesus. And it's a very respectful interaction that his lady is having with Jesus. And she says, Sir, so she still not understood what Jesus is talking. You know, most times when Jesus spoke in parables or he spoke in stories, people would not understand it. And he would explain it to his disciples. But in this case, also she didn't understand what he's saying. And she goes on to say, Sir, you don't have anything to draw water from the well with. And the well is deep. So you see, she had no clue about what Jesus is trying to tell her, which is fine. Because I think these words that I just read to you from John 4 10 would have not spoken to you, even maybe this morning. So she turns around and says, You know, sir, you don't even have anything to draw the water from the well, and the well is a deep one. So where will you get this living water? Good question. Right? She's just a person who's come out of her home to take water for the day. She meets this man who's talking to her in a slight bit of a riddle. He's a Jew, he's not supposed to interact with her. And he makes the statement, and she doesn't understand because she sees he's just sitting by the well. And let me tell you something, this is beautiful. This part is where everything just ties in together, and some of you will feel the presence of God. She turns around and tells him, You are not greater than our father Jacob, are you? Who gave us this well and drank of it himself and the sons of his cattle? Hallelujah. I want to tell you that is the well that was Jacob's well. There's there's if you go back to the Old Testament, there's a time when Jacob digs a well and his family makes his set makes their settlement there. And where in this lineage of time, the Jacob's lineage, which is Samaritan, which is a place, turn away from God, I don't know. Because that's basically what a Samaritan was, somebody who had a different belief system from the OG God. Hallelujah. So she turns around and tells him, Are you not uh greater than our father Jacob who gave us this well and drank from it himself and his entire cattle? And listen to Jesus' answer. Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again. But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst. But the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. Hallelujah. Amen. Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again. But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst. But the water that I give him will become in him a well springing up to eternal life. A well of water springing up to eternal life. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
And then Jesus goes on to tell her about what's happening with her. He basically, and I'm not going to get into it because it'll dilute the story that I'm going into. He basically talks to her about what she what has been her past and where she's currently at. And then she turns around and tells him, Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Again, I told you a very respectful conversation between a Samaritan and a Jew who is Jesus. She has no clue who's sitting in front of her. And she says, Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. So even after all these discussions, she's not understood the crux of this talk that Jesus is having with her. And after Jesus is even telling her where she's at in life and about her past and a present, she turns around and perceives that he's a prophet. And the woman says, I know that a messiah is coming who is called the Christ. And when that one comes, he will declare all things to us. Hallelujah. So you see, Jesus is now talking to her about her past, he's talking to her about her present, and now she perceives, oh, he he's not just uh any man, he's a he's a prophet. And when she realizes that he's speaking about things that nobody else would know about her, she tells him, I know that there's a Messiah who's coming, who is called Christ. When that one comes, he will declare all things to us. Hallelujah. And Jesus turned around, uh turns around and says, I who you speak to, am He. Hallelujah. I who you who speak to you, am He. Hallelujah. So you see, there's this interaction between Jesus and this Samaritan woman near a well, and she uh you know he asks her for water and she's asking, Why are you interacting with me? You're not supposed to. And he goes on to talk to her about the water that this life has to offer, and the water that he has to offer. And innocent, as this conversation goes, she's clueless about what he's talking about. So she asks him, From where will you get this water? You don't even have a pot to draw from the well, and the well is deep. And he turns around and tells her that whoever drinks from this will continue to remain thirsty, but I will give them eternal life. And then she perceives that he's a prophet, and she says, I know that there's someone coming who's the Christ. And when he comes, he will declare all things to us. And he turns around and he tells her, I am he who you speak about. I who speak to you am He. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. She's sitting in the front of the creator of heaven and earth, she's sitting in front of her savior, and she has no clue. And the only thing that touches her is that this person knows a little bit about her. She doesn't understand about what he's saying, what he's talking about. And then she quotes that, you know, my my line, my lineage, my family come to this mountain and they pray to God. And I know there's someone who's coming whose name is the Christ. And when he comes, he will declare declare all things to us. And Jesus only says one thing to her, I, who you speak to, am He. And the Bible goes on to say that she just leaves everything and runs into the city to tell people about this person who's sitting at the well. And could he be the Christ? Question mark. Because he knows everything about me. How could he know everything about me? I'm just a person on this planet.
Hallelujah. There are two things I want to share with you this beautiful morning from the story about the Samaritan woman and Jesus. First off, I want to tell you there was don't consider it a matter of chance that Jesus happened to be sitting there. Jesus was sitting there next to that well for a reason. He was sitting there while his disciples had gone away to get food from the city, just so that he will meet this woman who comes out at the sixth hour of the day. You know, in our daily chores, everyone has their timings and their specifications. And I believe this woman would come out at a particular time. You don't need water midday, you need water in the beginning of the day. And based on the story, I believe that this lady came out at 12 in the afternoon because she wanted to avoid everyone else, which means she probably had baggage, or probably she had a lot of uh, you know, uh name calling, or maybe she was judged by the society. So anyway, he happens to be there exactly at the sixth hour of the day, knowing that this woman is going to come. History does not allow the two of them to interact. Samaritan will not interact with a Jew, a Jew will not interact with a Samaritan. But keeping all the odds aside, he's sitting there. And as I said, ask up as per the circumstances, tradition, history, call it what you want, he would never interact with her. But everything Jesus did on this planet, as I said, is for a reason. And I'm getting into the crux of the matter. And today I said I want to share two things with you. And here's the first. He went there for a reason to meet that woman. Jesus spoke to her about her entire life, that he may get her attention. And let me tell you something. The woman runs into the city and announces this person who's sitting at the well, is he the Christ? And I want to tell you something. Salvation enters, enters Sychar that day because the Bible says that many Samaritans heard him and believed in him and were saved. Hallelujah. And today I want to tell you something. Maybe some of you don't know Jesus fully. Maybe you've heard of him as a name, maybe you've heard of him as somebody you can add to your list. Maybe you've heard of him as somebody. Maybe you've just heard of him, that's it. Some name in the past, somewhere, sometime in life. But today I want to tell you he came to this planet for a reason. And just as he was sitting there outside Saichar, the well for the Samaritan woman, you are hearing this for a reason this morning, this day. And I'm going to leave you with a key that Jesus gave the Samaritan woman.
But an hour is coming. This is from John 4.23, and you can mark this down in your Bibles. I'm going back to the time when Jesus was speaking to the Samaritan. This is the part that I left out, and I'm going back to it because, as I said, it was the key aspect of today's word. And Jesus is telling the woman, and he's telling, it's for all of you this morning, but an hour is coming, and now is, now is when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. For such people, the Father seeks to be his worshippers. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. While they're having this beautiful interaction, the Samaritan woman is talking to Jesus, and Jesus turns around and he tells her that the hour is coming and it is now. When the true worshippers will worship the Father and Spirit and Truth. And today I want to tell you, his word is his truth. Today I want to tell you, you're not hearing this by chance. Today I want to tell you, you're not here. Just because time made it possible. You're here for a reason. And just as Jesus said, the true worshippers and the time is now, because the hour is coming. Today is the same reason why he was sitting next to that well for that Samaritan woman. Today he's here for you. And I want to tell you, go to your room, you shut that door. And you read his word. Because his word, I want to tell you, is the truth that he's referring to over here. And when you read the Bible, I want to tell you, when you read his word, you reach out to God and you pray to him in the name of Jesus. You shut that door and you reach out to God and you pray to him in the name of Jesus. And I want to tell you that Jesus will answer you. Because he's telling you this morning, the hour is coming and the time is now. The hour is coming and the time is now. Hallelujah. You shut that door, you read the word of God, and as I said, some of you might not have a Bible, that's fine. You know, go to the there are apps that are available, there's the internet, the internet that's available. Go to your search, your browser, whatever you like to do, and type in whatever comes to your spirit, because Jesus will lead you there. Anything that works for you, as I said, and reach out to God this morning and pray to him in the name of Jesus. Because he is the spirit and the truth. You pray to him in the name of Jesus, and I'll tell you something. He will send his spirit to you this morning. He will send his spirit to you this day. He's not a respecter of people. That's the reason why I told you every aspect about this beautiful story between the Samaritan and Jesus is in the Bible just for a reason that he did not respect anything. He's not a respecter of people, he's not a respecter of what is your background and what titles you have, and what kind of bank balance you have, what kind of car you drive, the size of your home, what you are doing in life, whether you're a sinner or not. Jesus does not care. He just loves you. And the Bible says he's standing at the door and knocking. And the time is now this beautiful morning where you should worship him in spirit and truth and call out to him. And the Bible says he will answer you. Amen. And he's calling out to you today. And that's the reason why he was here outside that well for that Samaritan woman, waiting for her one on one. At the sixth hour of the day, when nobody comes to the venture, he was there just before and remember he used as was his plan. A Samaritan woman to receive the city. He was passing through there from Galilee to go to Judea. It was not even part of his, of course, it was part of his plan, but he decided to use something that most people would never assume that he would use for his creation, for his kingdom. I'm sorry, to go forward on this beautiful day. I'm telling you, don't miss it. You're not here by chance. Shut that door because he has said the time is now. The hour is coming, but the time is now when you will see a salvation just as a salvation after this managed woman. It was all part of the plan. I know some of you understand
this in your number two. Jesus spoke about the waters of this water. What does this mean? I want to tell you what it means. As I said, he met the Samaritan woman for multiple reasons, and this beautiful morning. I want to tell you that you can try all the things of the planet. That's what this passage of scripture means. That's what the words from Jesus mean. You can try all the things on the planet to plug that gap that you are feeling. And the world will give you, believe me, thousands of things that you can do. But he's telling you in me this beautiful morning that you can try the waters of the planet, you can try anything that this world has to offer you. The knowledge, the wisdom, the understanding, the solutions, the internet, the AI, you can try it all. But Jesus has offered one solution to everyone: the water that He will give, you will never be thirsty again. The water that He will give you, you will never be thirsty again. And it'll spring into a fountain of eternal life. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He said, Anyone who drinks of this will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I give him shall be thirsty no more. But the water that I will give him will become a fountain of life. Hallelujah. Springing up to eternal life. I'm telling you this beautiful morning, Jesus is knocking on that door. He's standing outside and he's knocking. And he's asking you for you to open that door. I told you there's no aspect of the story that's a matter of chance. There was no aspect of the story between the Samaritan moment and Jesus. That was not meant to be. Every aspect of it was meant to be, including the fact that Jews don't interact with Samaritans. You will think you are not worthy of Jesus. But I want to tell you, he came only for people like you and me. Hallelujah. You don't need to have the light uh right lineage, as I said, the right home, the right income, the right bank balance, the right friends, the true circle, the inheritance that's uh uh known to the world, a name that is known to the world. He came for you. He said to his disciples, I didn't come. For the ones who are perfectly well, because they are not the ones who need the doctor or the physician. Hallelujah. So there's nothing wrong with you this beautiful morning, because that's why he came. The woman at the Samaritan, uh, the Samaritan woman at the well, I'll tell you, had nothing perfect going on about her life until she met Jesus. Hallelujah. I am He of whom you speak of the Messiah, Jesus. Hallelujah.
And I want to tell you a little secret this morning. That well, that I'm sorry, that water that Jesus is talking about is also mentioned in the book of Revelation, the 22nd chapter. The book of Revelations, the 22nd chapter, the 11th verse, the first verse, I'm sorry. As he spoke about it to the Samaritan woman, he showed it to John in the book of Revelation, and then he showed me a river of water, of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And I'm not getting into the rest of this, the following scripture, the following verses that are in the same book. It just explains about the river. But I want to tell you this morning, Jesus spoke about the same river when he was speaking to the Samaritan woman, the river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming out from the throne of God and of the Lamb. Hallelujah. That's the river that he will put into your life this morning. And you just you want to know what it's about. You go ahead and read the next few verses. The tree of life comes out of that river. Hallelujah. It's yielding its fruit for every month, yielding its fruit for every month, and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Amen. And hallelujah to that. That there will no longer be any curse, and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in it. Hallelujah. They will see his face and his name will be on their foreheads. Oh, you have no idea what Jesus meant when he told that Samaritan woman that I will give you the river of life, I will give you, and from you will spring out life. This is what he's talking about, this beautiful river coming out of the throne of God. He will put it in your life and understand when the scripture says that it will give you twelve kinds of fruit. Hallelujah. A fruit for every month. A fruit for every month. That means you will bear fruit according to the kingdom of God. Every month you will bear a fruit. Which means you will be, you will call it what you want to call it. Every month you will be in the plan of God. That's what it means. Hallelujah. And you will bear fruit to God because He said, Out of this river will flow life. And this is life. Twelve days of that year. I'm sorry, 12 months of that year. Each month, this river will give you fruit. Hallelujah. And then Hallelujah. The leaves of your tree will be for the healing of the nations. For the healing of the nations, people, not just your family, not just the people around you, but for the nations. Go look at the news and you will know what the scripture means. You will heal the nations, and there will be no longer any curse for you. Because the throne of God will be living in you. Amen. You will see his face. The Bible says, Blessed is the one who sees his face, and you will see his face, and
his name will be on your foreheads. Hallelujah. I'd like to pray. Some of you can feel the presence of God and enjoy this beautiful morning. Thank you for this beautiful word. I thank you, Lord, for this, for your double-edged sword that does not go back until it has achieved or it has been set or followed. Lord, I thank you for this beautiful day that you have picked. That you have come down on this planet just for us. And you are letting it known to us this morning for anyone who has those thoughts that are against it and rebuke it. And I thank you for assuring us this morning through this beautiful story of the Samaritan woman that you came down just for us. Came down specifically for the ones who are feeling that rejection. Thank you, Jesus, for letting them know that you are here for them. I thank you, Lord, for letting them know that you stand at the door and knock, and today some of them are opening that door for you. And your as your word says, Lord, you will enter their lives and you will sup with them. Hallelujah. Jesus is gonna have a meal with you this beautiful day. Enjoy it because you have chosen to open that door, and because you have chosen to open that door, because the waters of this world you've tried for so many years have not filled you up, and they have still left you thirsty. Today he will give you living waters that come out from the throne, and you will bear his fruit. Hallelujah. For every month of the year, you will bear his fruit, and the tree that will be in your midst, in your life, that comes to the river of God will be for your healing, for the healing of your nations, for the nations. I thank you, Lord, for bringing this change for from now on. They will see you, they will know you. And salvation has entered their homes and multiple other homes because of this beautiful day and your beautiful river that you've chosen to give us freely that we may not thirst anymore. Thank you, Jesus, that your names are written, that your name is written on our foreheads. The spiritual world will see and know that we are yours. Thank you, Jesus, for this beautiful day. Thank you for this beautiful time. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
